"I’m gonna do my work now. You can go to my lounge if you wanna rest. I told Edward to prepare a few things for you."

While saying that, Calix pointed in a direction. Leslie’s eyes traced his finger before they landed on a dark-colored wooden door.

The said lounge was on the left side of the office. Leslie guessed the huge windows expanded into Calix’s private resting room.

"What kind of things?" asked Leslie, her eyes twinkling curiously, "I think I heard Edward ntioned romance novels just now."

Calix chuckled. He initially thought Leslie didn’t hear what Edward said as her mind should be focused on scouring the place.

"I told him to prepare so books and board gas for you. Who knows? You might be bored ah. You can watch the TV too if you want."

Calix turned around after finishing his words. He walked away from the glass wall, heading to his work desk. The beaming sun cast shadows elongating on the floor.

Leslie grinned, thinking how CEO Xu unknowingly gained more points for being a good supporting character.

"Hehe, I wanna explore this floor first, can I?"

Calix perfectly captured the excitent in Leslie’s voice. Faint laughter bubbled up his mouth. Shrugging, he replied nonchalantly, "Up to you, Mrs. Xu."

Leslie broke into giggles. She hurriedly ran to the door before poof! In an instant, she was nowhere to be seen.

"..."

Calix blinked slowly before lightly patting his cheek once. Despite knowing Leslie was able to go in and out of any room without opening the door, he still felt weird witnessing it.

"Snap out of it, Calix. You need to get used to it ah."

After giving himself a reminder, Calix sat down behind the huge office desk. He buried himself in work, forcing himself not to imagine Leslie floating from one place to the next.

Nevermind. She could do whatever she wanted as long as no new rumors of a female ghost suddenly spread.

"Sigh... not only my house is haunted by her, but she also haunts my company. She won’t be caught by any exorcists, right?"

As Calix was drowned in his work, Leslie was happily touring the staff resting lounge, the ga room, the gymnasium and the cafeteria. She knew nothing about him badmouthing her.

Leslie simply passed by the open office areas. Even though the interior design was great, it didn’t interest her much. She also didn’t venture out of the building.

The cafeteria was the most attractive place in Leslie’s opinion.

The variety of food and drinks appealed to her so much. The delicious fragrance tempted her to try each dish.

The design of the spacious cafeteria was also fascinating. Aside from the open seating area, it had many small dining booths with pitched-roofs. They resembled small cabins and could hold up to six people.

"Wow~ I’m jealous of the staff ah. Seems like they can co here whenever they want."

Leslie whistled, awestruck by what she was witnessing. She hovered at the seating area of the cafeteria, watching the staff enjoying their als. So of them discuss work while eating.

Despite not being lunchti, many employees already occupied the cafeteria. So of them had heavy als while the others picked among the choices of light dishes and desserts.

"...the headlines. Seems like we’re not the only ones wanna know who CEO Xu’s wife is."

Those words spoken by a woman piqued Leslie’s interest. She paused from moving along the area.

CEO Xu’s wife? That was her ah.

Turning her head, Leslie’s attention fell on a table where four staff, one male and three female were seated. Their table was quite secluded from the others.

Oh, were they talking about her and Calix? Gossiping about their sudden marriage?

Leslie’s gossip radar was activated. She floated to the table before standing in a corner. While listening to them, she read their natags.

Charlotte, Sophia, Ella and Oliver.

The one she heard earlier was Ella.

"Have you seen how handso CEO Xu looked in his red outfit yesterday?" exclaid Sophia. Stars were twinkling in her eyes, "I really wanna see his wife ah. She must be a beauty!"

"CEO Xu’s wife should be a wealthy young miss," stated Charlotte as she lowered her tone. She paused for a mont before continuing, "But, have you heard of sothing?"

"What? What else?" Sophia raised her brows, "Is there other news?"

"I heard Vice Director Xu say Mrs. Xu’s actually in a coma," said Charlotte, "He confronted CEO Xu yesterday."

"What?" Ella gasped. Her eyes widened in shock, "Really? Is that the truth?"

"CEO Xu didn’t deny it," Charlotte shrugged, expressing she also was not sure about the rumor, "So, it might be true."

Sophia and Ella looked at one another, questions swirling in their eyes. Charlotte sighed softly.

While the three female staff pondered on the piece of rumor, the only male employee finally intervened.

"CEO Xu replied sarcastically to Vice Director Xu. He ran away in sha," said Oliver calmly. He took a sip of his hot coffee, "Vice Director Xu’s always like that. Why does he keep provoking CEO Xu? The one who gets humiliated often is him ah."

"Geez, I really dislike Vice Director Xu," complained Sophia. She glanced to the left, right and behind her before toning down her voice, "He’s quite handso but, his personality’s a major turn-off."

"Haha, many female staff think the sa," Charlotte covered her mouth, gleefully adding, "He thinks he should be in CEO Xu’s position, right? But, he’s so incompetent."

Ella snickered, "I think CEO Xu’s waiting for the right ti to oust him. He’s just a burden to the Planning Departnt. He claims all his plans are perfect but, there’s nothing of value in them actually."

Leslie was stunned by the change of topic. She wondered who this Vice Director Xu was. From how they sounded, he seed to be a troublemaker.

’He should be related to Calix, right? They share the sa surna. Are they cousins?’

When Leslie was thinking of the mysterious yet annoying man, the four staff made a detour to their previous topic. They started talking about her and Calix again.

"If Mrs. Xu’s in a coma, she might be in an accident before, right? Then, why did CEO Xu get married to her before she woke up? Don’t you think it’s weird?"

Ella tilted her head, wondering about her own question. Sophia and Charlotte humd and nodded, sharing the sa sentint as her.

Once again Oliver spoke, "Maybe CEO Xu was afraid he’d lose her for good so, he went through with the marriage. He can take care of her legally if she becos his wife."

"Wow~ So romantic!" Sophia placed her palms on both sides of her cheeks, her eyes turned dreamy again, "I’ve never seen CEO Xu with a woman other than Ice Goddess Xu and his secretaries. Turns out, he’s privately in a relationship."

"Hehe, I think Mrs. Xu saved the galaxy in her previous life ah," Ella grinned, "She’s so lucky! CEO Xu’s a great man."

"..."

Leslie rubbed her arms a few tis before shuddering in cringe. Grimaced, she shook her head repeatedly.

These guys...

If only they knew the truth behind their adored CEO Xu’s marriage proposal.
