Calliope’s first ti talking to Old Madam Xu, Andrian and Harper through the video call went well. The three elders were all excited yet, they managed to show their calm selves in front of the little one.
Old Madam Xu, Andrian and Harper knew Calliope might feel overwheld with their first eting despite not being a physical one. They made sure to be careful and gentle when asking and answering questions.
Still, they couldn’t help but gush over the little dumpling the first ti they saw her.
"Oh! I can see her resemblance with Calix ah."
"Hehehe, should we find his childhood photos? Put them side by side."
"Poppy is way cuter ah! Don’t you see that? She looks more like Leslie."
Calliope introduced herself and Mimo, charming the elders with her adorable appearance and sweet voice. The talks about how she half-resembled Calix and Leslie each arose.
The video call went on for almost one hour. Throughout the ti, Calix and Leslie encouraged Calliope to be open when talking to the three elders. They only spoke when needed.
"Poppy, tell your papa and mama to bring you here. Great-Grandma will prepare many delicious food for you, en?"
At the end of the video call, Old Madam Xu reminded Calliope to visit the Xu family’s ancestral ho. She really wished to et the little girl soon – her recently found great-granddaughter.

Calliope glanced at Calix and Leslie, her cheeks puffing and flushing red in excitent. The spouses chuckled, their hearts tickling from the little one’s antics.
"What do you say, Poppy?" Calix raised his brows, nudging Calliope to answer Old Madam Xu, "Wanna go there? It’s Papa’s childhood ho."
"You can et your uncle, aunts and cousin if... you go there..." Leslie chid in, imdiately thinking of Calliope forming a relationship with the younger Alia, "Your cousin is one year younger... than you. Wanna befriend her?"
Calliope’s eyes brightened up, happy at the thought of eting the rest of the Xu family mbers. She nodded her small head repeatedly, acting like a baby chick pecking on grains.
"Poppy want!"
"Hehe, tell your great-grandma that."
Calliope peeled her eyes away from Calix and Leslie’s smiling countenances, looking at Old Madam Xu on the phone screen. The old lady was sitting in between her son and daughter-in-law.
Sweetly smiling at her paternal great-grandmother, she said, "Great-Grandma, Poppy will go to Great-Grandma’s ho. Papa and Mama will bring Poppy there."
"Yes, yes! Please co, Poppy!" Harper chipped in, happiness written on her beaming face, "You like strawberries, right? Just like your papa ah. Co and have them with us here."
Andrian guffawed listening to Harper’s remarks, affected by the sheer delight of this particular mont.
"Hahaha, your grandma is all excited now. Grandpa thinks she’ll buy dozens of strawberries just for you, Poppy."
"Hehehe~ Poppy will love that~"
Calliope waved at Old Madam Xu, Andrian and Harper while wishing them good night. Their first video call ended with one press of the red button by Calix.
"Are you happy, Poppy?"
Calix’s simple question burst Calliope into laughter. Once again she nodded, expressing her joy.
She was truly happy ah!
She got to talk to her great-grandma, grandpa and grandma!
Stroking Calliope’s small head, Leslie was pleased with the new developnt. She had always wanted her daughter to be acquainted with the loving Xu family.
After all, Calliope had never experienced any affection from her grandparents in their previous life.
Leslie lifted her eyes from Calliope, looking at Calix, "When should we et them? Oh... how about Evelyn? Is she busy?"
Leslie didn’t get to et Evelyn yet. Her busy sister-in-law couldn’t join the previous family dinner when Leslie made her first appearance. The popular actress had an important schedule abroad at that ti.
Evelyn greeted Leslie through a video call not long after the family dinner. She couldn’t talk long but, she expressed to get to know her brother’s wife well as soon as her schedule cleared up.
"I’ll check with her manager but, I think she shouldn’t be that busy," Calix made a ntal note to inquire about Evelyn’s activity schedule from her long-ti manager, "It’ll be better if everyone can join."
"Yes, hopefully, Evelyn can join..."
The ntion of Evelyn led Leslie to rember sothing that happened this early morning. It was fleeting but, she believed she received the second vision after months of the first one[01].
’Seems like sothing will happen to Evelyn. About... her love life.’
In the fragnt of dreams, Leslie saw Evelyn curling on a couch, crying in misery. Her long hair was ssy, her continuous crying ruined her makeup.
Evelyn rubbed her face many tis, even slapping her chest hard. Her cries were heartwrenching, signifying the loss of her love.
Evelyn’s disheveled appearance was a stark contrast to her usual pristine image in public. Her action depicted the deep despair tugging at her heart.
Unsure what kind of trouble Evelyn would face and when it would happen, Leslie tried asking Mimo. Despite residing in its physical body, the crochet fox toy still occasionally talked to her.

According to Mimo, Evelyn was fated to be cheated by her secret boyfriend in the original story. The scumbag was a lesser-known actor who sweet-talked Evelyn to receive projects and financial assistance.
Later, Evelyn learned the trashy man actually had a longti girlfriend in his hotown. She caught them in bed when she visited his apartnt without telling him.
Leslie almost smacked her head against the wall once she knew that.
Why did the author assign such a plot for Evelyn?!
’This is so crappy ah. How did that man get Evelyn to do anything he wanted? She’s not easy to fool.’
Leslie’s blood boiled just for thinking about the issue.
They should just cut his family jewel!
According to Mimo, this plot was brought forward because Leslie’s intervention changed the original storyline. She didn’t forget to inquire what happened to Evelyn in the book, following the scumbag’s cheating.

Shocked, Leslie quickly asked what happened to the trashy man.

Blinking her eyes, Leslie blankly gazed at Calix and Calliope. The father and daughter stared back at her, looking seemingly confused.

"Did you go up to the moon ?" asked Calix, slipping in so joke in his question, "You didn’t answer when we called you."
"Mama, sleepy? Wanna go to bed now?" Calliope nodded, agreeing with her father’s question for her mother.
"Oh... haha, I was just thinking..." Leslie laughed awkwardly. She shifted her eyes from Calliope to Calix, "I just wonder... Is Evelyn in a relationship now?"
Calix was slightly surprised to hear the question coming from Leslie, never expecting it so far. But, considering her love for Evelyn’s works so far and her position as the latter’s sister-in-law, the question might co sooner or later.
"Not that I know of," Calix shrugged, answering Leslie to the extent of his knowledge, "Her last relationship was five years ago. That girl is so focused on her career. But, who knows? She might be in a relationship now."
XuGlam Entertainnt didn’t restrict their artists from dating but, they had to be careful about their love lives.
And, Calix also didn’t intrude in Evelyn’s love life even as her elder brother. He understood she was a grownup woman who had a mind of her own.
Calix just told her to rember not all n can be trusted. Most of them think with their third leg instead of the brains bestowed upon their births.
Leslie replied nothing as she heard Calix’s words. It seed like Evelyn concealed about her dating that trash.
’What should I do?’
Even if Leslie didn’t interfere, Evelyn would still get to avenge herself in the future. But, the continuous pain and long wait were not worth it.
Best to deal with the scumbag soon!
