The next day, Monday.

As soon as Calix reached the CEO’s office, he explained his plans regarding Calliope to Edward. He also told the chief assistant about Andrian taking over the leadership when he was absent.

No one else was present there to ensure this matter remained a secret.

"For now, push backward the least important schedule. Let our staff hear of going away for a short ti. Spread rumors of taking my wife to a trip for her health."

Calix and Leslie ca up with the idea because they didn’t want people to speculate about the forr’s absence. Even if they still did it, the lack of urgency on Calix’s side expressed there was nothing to hide.

If not, the dramatic people would assu Andrian stepped in when Calix was gone because Xu International was in deep trouble.

"Understand, Boss. I’ll start looking for a suitable residence within Frostwich Town. I’ll handle other arrangents as well, including transport and whatnot."

Edward swiftly noted down everything he needed to manage. He understood how important this mont was for his boss.

"At least, make sure my schedule is free before next week," Calix twirled the black ballpen between his thumb and index finger, his eyes remaining on Edward, "My father will start taking over this Monday."

"Yes, Boss. If you can go earlier, I’ll inform you."

"Good."

Calix actually hoped to head to the Frostwich Town earlier but, he understood he shouldn’t demand anything close to impossible. He also didn’t want to make Edward cry trying to fulfill his orders.

Leslie’s words from last night echoed in Calix’s mind.

"Now that Grandma, Mother and... Father know, we have less... pressure for our... plan..."

She was right.

Coming clean to his grandmother and parents was indeed a good choice. They had more support behind them as they navigated this issue.

"Boss Xu, you have a eting with the Planning Departnt at ten. Then..."

After talking about Calix going to Frostwich Town, Edward started to address the important events for today. The young man sitting behind the huge work desk simply listened to his assistant before chiming in with his questions.

"Oh, Boss Qin wants to have lunch with you," reported Edward after he was done briefing Calix on his schedule today, "He threatened to co here if you refuse. Boss Huo too."

Calix exhaled a sigh, recalling the phone calls and ssages he received from Xander and Davin in the past two days. They wanted to celebrate his birthday but, he declined, citing he had private matters to be attended to.

It seed like Xander reached out to Edward after his failed attempts.

"Tell him I won’t go anywhere far. One hour, that’s it."

"Understand."

Instead of contacting Xander himself, Calix let Edward be the middleman. He imdiately drowned himself in the sea of work as soon as his assistant left.

Not long after, Edward passed Xander’s ssage to Calix. They—including Davin—will et at Funfetti Italia Kitchen around one-thirty, a restaurant familiar to them[01]. Its location was not far from Xu International.

By agreeing to et Edward and Davin, Calix knew they wouldn’t bother him again in the nearest ti. He was unwilling to tell them anything about Calliope yet despite them being his best friends.

’Davin isn’t a problem. I won’t allow Xander to badmouth Leslie again. He might say sothing about Calliope too.’

Throughout the decades Calix befriended Xander, he knew how unpredictable his aloof friend could be. At tis, he could be very judgntal.

Calix planned to distance himself from Xander for the ti being. His sole focus right now was his family – Leslie and Calliope.

’No one can look down on them. Not even my family and friends.’

Calix went on the day as usual. He didn’t forget to check on Leslie whenever he could. After what seed like a long and hectic morning, it was finally ti for his lunch with Xander and Davin.

Rising to his feet, Calix picked up his phone. He planned to use the company’s chauffeur service to avoid problems parking the vehicle.

Calix swiftly typed a ssage in a group chat where Xander and Davin were on. His text was short and simple.

[Calix: Heading there now]

A response ca when Calix was in the private elevator. With a tap, the ssage was displayed on the screen.

[Davin: We’ll arrive there soon. I made a reservation under my na]

[Calix: Okay]

Slipping the phone inside his pants pocket, Calix heaved out a sigh. He couldn’t help but recall those tis when Leslie visited this company when she was still in her soul form.

Among all the grand facilities inside and outside the building, the company cafeteria fascinated her the most.

’She’s really a foodie. I wonder if Calliope is also one.’

If their daughter inherited her mother’s love for food, he needed to work harder to earn money ah. Taking care of two foodies required lots of funds on his part.

Bringing them traveling to other places to try food would be a lot of fun.

Chuckling, Calix was amused by his own thoughts. He couldn’t wait for the days he woke up in the morning to see Leslie and Calliope together.

Like the happy family which he often saw in magazines and movies.

’We still have a long way to go.’

CEO Xu inwardly pondered his next plan once Calliope started living with them. Aside from bonding with the little one, he wished to develop his relationship with Leslie into sothing more intimate.

He had two hearts to be won. One belonging to his newly-found daughter and one of his wife with whom he shared an uncanny relationship.

’I will try but... I won’t force her if she doesn’t want it.’

Blinking, Calix blankly stared at his right palm. He recalled the tis he touched her back or arm when carrying her or being her support to walk.

Right now, he grew more conscious of their interaction especially when they were in very close proximity together.

He couldn’t help but wonder...

Did she feel the sa?

CEO Xu had never thought he would face a love dilemma at his current age of thirty-two.
