Chapter 979: Chapter 979: Does It Really Hurt That Much?
A mist hovered over the hot spring pool scattered with rose petals. She lay by the edge of the pool, the white mist swirling around her. Her hair was wet, and her eyes were misty.
So things shouldn’t be thought about.
Once they start, it’s hard to stop.
Matthew Saxon’s gaze suddenly beca dark, with a glimr of burning fire.
He watched Scarlett Yates intently and called out softly, "Scarlett."
"Matthew Saxon, my, my leg really hurts, as if it’s burning with fire." Scarlett Yates was already flustered, mustering up the courage to glance at him, and saw Matthew Saxon’s eyes staring intently at her, as if they were glowing green, showing that predatory look.
Her heart panicked even more, hurriedly averting her gaze, feeling as if it might leap out of her chest.
Hearing her say her leg hurt, Matthew Saxon frowned, the hint of desire quickly suppressed. He took the antiseptic from the dicine box, sat by the bed, and asked her to extend her injured leg.
He didn’t know much about snakes either.
Although the snake wasn’t venomous, he hadn’t experienced what it felt like to be bitten.
So hearing Scarlett Yates shout in pain, he thought she was really suffering, pushing aside any other thoughts, and took the dication to treat her wound.
He knew how to perform basic disinfection.
Getting bitten by a snake naturally hurt, but it wasn’t as exaggerated as Scarlett Yates claid. She was more frightened by Matthew Saxon’s eyes.
But Matthew Saxon didn’t doubt her at all, acting very concerned, and imdiately changed his deanor when hearing she was in distress.
Seeing him so worried about her, Scarlett Yates felt sweetness in her heart.
"Does it really hurt a lot?"
"Yes, it really hurts." In reality, it was only the initial bite that was very painful; by now, it wasn’t as painful anymore.
"The snake isn’t venomous." Matthew Saxon said, looking at the no longer bleeding wound on her leg.
"But it still hurts." Scarlett Yates complained while frowning as if in great discomfort, "The snake’s teeth are very sharp and long. If it bit you, you’d know how painful it is."
Matthew Saxon didn’t say anything more, as if he’d understood her words.
He carefully disinfected her wound, then said, "Put on your clothes, I’ll call the doctor to take another look."
Although he recognized it as a non-venomous pet snake, hearing Scarlett Yates complain of pain made him cautious, so he decided to have the doctor check it just in case.
"No need to call the doctor, you’ve already said the snake isn’t venomous, and the wound is disinfected, it will heal in a couple of days." Scarlett Yates retracted the portion of her leg she had extended into the bed.
Just now, when Matthew Saxon applied antiseptic to her wound, he was so gentle, Scarlett Yates couldn’t believe Matthew Saxon had such a tender side.
"The doctor will co soon, let him take another look."
Only then could he truly feel assured.
After Matthew Saxon spoke, he didn’t give her the chance to refuse, turning and walking towards his dressing room.
Soon, Scarlett Yates saw him return with a set of won’s sleepwear, tossing the pink pajamas onto the bed. He stood by the bed, looking at her naturally and said, "Put on your clothes, the doctor will arrive soon."
