Chapter 972: Chapter 972: I Guess I’d Want to Be a Painter
Scarlett Yates felt that this mont, this scene, kind of resembled the feeling of having a school romance.
Although she hadn’t dated during her three years at university, she’d seen other people in relationships, just like how you know about pork even if you’ve never raised pigs, right?
Matthew Saxon held her hand, and because it was so cold at night, he tucked her hand into the pocket of his coat.
His coat was very warm, and before long, Scarlett’s palm started to heat up.
"Scarlett, why did you decide to beco a nurse?" After the two of them walked hand in hand for a while in silence, Matthew was the first to break it.
Scarlett was a bit stunned.
She was just thinking how the prolonged silence was becoming a bit awkward and was trying to find a topic to liven up the atmosphere when Matthew spoke first.
And then, he asked her such a sudden question.
He was actually the first person to ask her that.
Scarlett thought seriously for a mont, then gave a reason that even she found a bit too selfless: "I want to help more people."
"Is that the only reason?"
"Yeah, that’s the only reason."
"What about you?" Since he had asked the question, Scarlett took the opportunity to ask him, "If you didn’t have to take over Seymour, what job would you most want to do?"
Actually, from what Scarlett knew about Matthew, she could tell he wasn’t really interested in the deceit and flattery of the business world.
If not forced by circumstances to take on the responsibilities he had to bear, he probably wouldn’t like being a businessman.
"?" Matthew also thought seriously for a mont, pondering, before he curled his lips and said, "I’d probably want to be a painter."
That answer was truly unexpected.
Scarlett looked at him in astonishnt, looking very surprised: "You want to be a painter?"
In Scarlett’s impression, painters were quiet and would usually have long hair representing their artistic nature. They wouldn’t shave for days and would lock themselves in a room for days and nights when painting...
No matter what the painters in her impression looked like, they weren’t like Matthew.
A freewheeling, nonchalant playboy didn’t align at all with the image of a painter.
For anyone who learns to paint, the most important thing is the ability to calm down, because when it cos to painting, one might sit for an entire day. How could soone who can’t stay calm possibly sit still?
For soone like Matthew, used to being free-spirited, sitting still for a day might be worse than a death sentence.
So that answer truly surprised Scarlett.
Does that an Matthew is quite good at painting?
"Hmm, but it’s sothing I can only think about." Matthew slightly bowed his head, walked under the branches, and reached out to brush away the tree branch above Scarlett’s head.
They passed through the pebble-paved path and reached the pond.
Unconsciously, they stopped in front of the pond.
Seeing the pond, Scarlett rembered her first visit to the Saxon Family; it was here that she and Matthew made their one-year pact.
Back then, Matthew had a leg injury and was in a wheelchair.
Thinking back on the past, Scarlett felt a bit emotional.
When she agreed to the one-year pact with Matthew, she hadn’t expected their relationship to develop to this point.
Initially, they were pretending to be a couple, but now, they were truly together.
