Chapter 962: Chapter 962: The Art of Compliance

"I’ll inform the receptionist, so you can head straight to the President’s office when you arrive."

"Okay."

"If I’m in a eting then, just wait for

in my office."

"Okay."

"I’ve scheduled the wedding dress photoshoot for tomorrow morning. If you’re feeling okay by then, we’ll go."

This ti, Scarlett Yates lifted her head and glanced at him. Matthew Saxon’s gaze was deep and dark, like an unfathomable ocean, his profound eyes intensely fixated on her.

His enchanting phoenix eyes seed to possess a magic that once glanced at, the gaze seed glued to his face, unable to move away.

These naturally electrifying Peach Blossom Eyes were truly bewitching.

At the mont their gazes t, Scarlett Yates’s heart skipped a beat.

Her mind went blank for a few seconds, and then, she dumbfoundedly nodded: "Okay."

Her vacant expression and dazed look amused Matthew Saxon.

His expression was not as unpleasant anymore.

Scarlett Yates’s strategy of "compliance" indeed worked.

He was quite angry initially, but seeing her so obedient and agreeing to everything, gradually, his anger subsided.

Although he didn’t imdiately beco affable, his eyes turned much gentler.

Before leaving, he even said to her: "I’ll try to co back early to have dinner with you."

Scarlett, noticing his reduced anger, happily nodded in cooperation and replied, "Okay, I’ll wait for you."

Then Matthew Saxon left.

It seed their argunt had ended there.

If nothing unexpected happened, she could reconcile with him before tomorrow.

Scarlett Yates was no longer worried about Matthew Saxon being mad at her; what concerned her was how to spend tonight...

If they just lay on the sa bed as usual and slept, she wouldn’t be worried, but could Matthew be that well-behaved?

She recalled reading sowhere that if a man had no desire at all for the woman he loved, that was definitely abnormal.

Either he has physical issues, or he doesn’t truly like you.

If Matthew Saxon did beco impulsive, what should she do?

If... he has that intention, what should she do?

Should she reject him or comply?

She wasn’t fixated on saving her first ti for after marriage; if the feelings and atmosphere were right, she wouldn’t refuse.

Thinking along these lines made her blush again.

She covered her face and lay down on the bed, using a pillow to cover her head.

"Scarlett Yates, stop overthinking. Maybe he doesn’t even have that intention, and here you are worrying about this and that. Isn’t that ridiculous?"

"But, if he really wants to... what should I do."

She even considered whether she should change into a prettier set of lingerie.

With a tangled heart, Scarlett Yates tossed and turned for a while, then fell asleep on Matthew Saxon’s bed.

--

When Matthew Saxon hurried back after handling the company’s affairs, this was the scene he saw.

Scarlett Yates was lying on the bed in a spread-eagle position, wearing his coat, her petite body sunken into the soft down comforter.

On the large bed, she occupied only a small space. Perhaps due to exhaustion or illness, she was breathing unevenly, her soft snores audible in the silent room where even a pin drop could be heard.
