Chapter 941: Chapter 941: Of Course I’ll Treat Her Well

"Oh, is my brother pleading with ?" Matthew Saxon curled his lips, his long eyes narrowed slightly as he spoke slowly, "Rest assured, Brother, I have principles in what I do. I won’t falsely accuse innocent people. Whether Aunt Denton is being wronged, without conclusive evidence, I dare not jump to conclusions."

Maxwell Saxon braced himself on the table, his lips pressed tightly together. He remained silent for a few seconds, then said, "Mom didn’t know about it. When I gave her that dicine back then, she didn’t know it would be so toxic. She had feelings for your dad. If she had known early on that it would have such severe consequences, she wouldn’t have done it."

"I promised her that it wouldn’t harm Roy Saxon. She thought the dicine would at most make your dad sleep for a while. It was I who deceived her, taking advantage of her trust and dependence on

to deceive her."

"She is innocent, and all responsibility lies with ."

"So? Does my brother want

to release her?" Matthew Saxon smiled, supporting his chin with one hand, his eyes slightly squinted with an idle and mischievous look. "I understand my brother’s filial piety as well, but there’s nothing I can do regarding principles. The process doesn’t matter; everything depends on the result."

"As I said before, whether Aunt Denton is being wronged, I will thoroughly investigate. If she is truly innocent, I will not impose charges on her."

After finishing speaking, he curled his lips again, speaking with a casual tone, "Did my brother co to see

just for this matter?"

Maxwell Saxon clenched his fists, a trace of anger flickering in his eyes: "I have nothing to say about losing in your hands. Since you refuse to agree, there’s nothing more for us to discuss."

"Since you’re already here, I also want to tell you sothing." Matthew Saxon leisurely lifted his head, his eyes half-squinted, and said slowly, "Scarlett and I are set to have our wedding at the end of the month. Though you can’t attend, I still hope you can share in my joy. I heard Brother has known Scarlett since childhood; as childhood playmates, she’s about to get married soon. Shouldn’t Brother also offer a few blessings?"

Maxwell Saxon’s gaze grew colder inch by inch.

Matthew Saxon curled his lips, watching him with a half-smile, "Brother, aren’t you willing to even utter a few words of blessing?"

"After all, she is the woman Brother likes. Don’t you want to see her happy?"

Maxwell Saxon stared at him coldly for a long ti, during which Matthew Saxon’s smile persisted on his face. After one or two minutes, Matthew Saxon broke the silence first, sighing lightly and saying in a resigned manner, "If Brother chooses not to speak, then I won’t force you."

With that, he stood up, ready to leave.

"Wait."

Maxwell Saxon called out to him.

"Oh, does Brother have anything else to say?"

"Do you truly love Scarlett?"

Matthew Saxon laughed like he had heard a joke, snorted coldly, "I wouldn’t want to marry anyone other than a woman I love."

"I don’t care if you’ve been truly reckless or not in the past. If you really intend to marry Scarlett, I hope you can treat her well, not do anything to make her sad."

Matthew Saxon found it amusing, tugged at his thin lips, and retorted sarcastically, "She’s my woman; of course, I’ll treat her well. Brother, you don’t need to worry."

"It’s best that you think this way. I understand Scarlett’s character well. If you fail to cherish her and disappoint her, you will lose her."
