Chapter 389: Chapter 389: Matthew Saxon’s Gentle Side

Though her head hurt, her neck hurt, her waist hurt, her legs hurt, and her whole body was in unbearable pain, so much pain that her mind was dizzy, Scarlett Yates was still moved by his words. Her face seed to be scalded by sothing, and a warm air erged from her fair skin.

Her cheeks blushed once more.

When did she beco his?

At this mont, she couldn’t quite describe the feeling in her heart.

She had never thought that Matthew Saxon would respond like this.

She had imagined he would say sothing to comfort her, then let her pretend nothing had happened.

After all, the person who attacked her was Alice Green, the woman he had protected for three years.

Her heart felt warm, and this warmth spread to every corner of her body. Even though her hands were still cold as if soaked in ice water, the discomfort in her body seed much more bearable.

"Actually..." she hesitated, looking at him, feeling conflicted inside, struggling with whether to tell him the truth.

The answer he gave was based on her assumptions...

Perhaps, to ease her mind, he chose to say comforting words.

After all, things that haven’t beco reality, he could just talk about them without consequence.

If she really revealed what Alice Green had done to her, would his response still be so unwavering, so determined?

Scarlett Yates felt uncertain.

"Hmm?" Matthew Saxon thought she was about to say sothing, lowered his head slightly, and his deep, dark eyes were as beautiful as jade, the most exquisite and luminous jade in the world.

Scarlett Yates suddenly changed her mind again.

This mont was beautiful to her; she didn’t want to ruin it.

Since he’s already investigating, let him find out on his own.

It’s not a difficult thing to investigate.

If he isn’t intentionally covering up, the truth shouldn’t be hard to uncover, right?

So, she didn’t need to say anything, just see if he was truly willing to investigate.

Thus, the words at the tip of her tongue transford into another sentence, "I’m very thirsty, can you help

get so water?"

Ever since she woke up, she had felt unbearably thirsty.

Enduring her discomfort and chatting with him for so long, her throat really felt like it was going to catch fire.

Matthew Saxon was slightly stunned, as if surprised, and his gaze showed a hint of astonishnt. But soon, he smiled, nodding, "Alright, wait a mont."

He patted the back of her hand and stood up, then poured a cup of hot water and returned.

He placed the water beside her, helped her sit up slowly, and gently brought her into his arms, allowing her body to lean against him.

The water was neither too cold nor too hot, just the right temperature.

When Matthew Saxon brought the cup to her lips, Scarlett Yates remained still, rely staring at him in a daze.

Even though she felt thirsty enough to drink an entire pot of water.

Matthew Saxon raised an eyebrow and chuckled, "What’s wrong? Are you srized by my face?"

Scarlett Yates blushed again from his teasing, lowered her head, and drank several sips from the cup he held, until the cup was empty, and her throat no longer felt so dry and uncomfortable.

"Do you want more?"

"Yes, a bit more."

He carefully and gently placed her on the bed, stood up, and poured another cup of water.

As he turned away, Scarlett Yates seed to fall into contemplation again, motionless, watching unblinkingly at his back as he poured water.

Is he really Matthew Saxon?

Why does she feel that after waking from her coma, there’s sothing a bit different about him?
