The owner of the face seed to have discovered sothing utterly astonishing. He leaned back slightly, muttering sothing under his breath.

And Han Ning, in turn, got a clear look at his true appearance.

A middle-aged man with shoulder-length hair, a withered figure, and tattered clothes.

He held a sharp weapon forged from so unknown material. A large hole was torn in his abdon, exposing a length of his intestines, and one could vaguely see the organs squirming inside. Wispy, smoke-like black gas continuously poured out from the wound, swirling around his body.

Han Ning tried blinking and found his vision growing even clearer.

What astonished him most was that the man before him had completely lost his insect-like form. Aside from a few particularly jarring, savage bone spikes on his back, he was indistinguishable from a human.

Upon seeing Han Ning, his dazed yet frenzied eyes shone with an eerie black light. A glimr of rationality surfaced in them, and sharp, delirious words escaped his lips.

This ti, Han Ning heard him clearly. The aning was simple, just a single sentence.

"Incredible, incredible... Such astonishing willpower! A perfect test subject. This ti, I’ll definitely succeed!"

The man shrieked. The black gas around him flared violently, transforming into writhing black tentacles that thrashed about wildly.

’What is this... another Spiritual Illusion Realm?’ The scene before him wasn’t as clear as the last ti he’d been pulled into an Illusion Realm by the Brain-Eating Spider’s spiritual attack, but Han Ning could faintly feel a chilling dread that made his scalp tingle.

At the sa ti, another voice inexplicably sounded from the depths of his consciousness:

"This is the Parasitic Curse of the Evil Eye of Chaos. Help... help ..."

"Who are you?" Han Ning asked, startled.

"Ho...m... We’ve t before."

"That great egg, was that really you?"

"No, she is my... child... Because you infused it with your Dark Spiritual Energy, the parasitic curse has grown stronger. Use your Spiritual Power to defeat it. I will work with you to suppress the tide of negative emotions from the outside world."

The thought had just faded when the chilling, black-gas-wreathed man suddenly leaped forward. All the tentacles on his body transford into long snakes with sharp fangs, lunging for Han Ning’s face.

"As a curse, it has no weakness. You could also say its entire body is a weakness. The only way to completely eliminate it is to use your Spiritual Power to grind down its corrupting spiritual energy again and again until it is completely gone."

Hom’s voice rang out in his mind at just the right mont.

Han Ning, who had already been secretly gathering his power, was on guard. With a flash, he moved back a few steps and tried to imagine the form of the giant roc, just as he had last ti.

But even as the black snakes, radiating a venomous aura, flew right before him, the great roc still failed to materialize.

Seeing this, Han Ning quickly changed his thoughts, trying to conjure a Frost Crystal Shield in front of him.

In an instant, the polygonal Crystal Shield ford, only to be devoured completely by the swarm of black snakes.

"This is not your own spiritual domain. You are being affected by the external tide of resentnt, so you cannot output too much Spiritual Power."

’Why didn’t you say so earlier,’ Han Ning thought, exasperated.

With no other choice, he could only retreat continuously while trying to imagine Yin Yi’s form.

"SKREEE!!"

But... halfway through constructing it with his Spiritual Power, he was interrupted by a piercing shriek.

Han Ning grunted, staring intently at the approaching Flying Snakes. ’This isn’t working... I have to try turning myself into a Soul Beast...’

The next mont, dense red scales appeared all over his body, his pupils turned into vertical slits, and a pair of small, delicate wings sprouted from his back.

In just a few tenths of a second, he transford from his human appearance into a small, two-ter-tall Egg Pancake.

The mont he beca Egg Pancake, a stream of unfamiliar information flowed into his mind. He had the uncanny feeling that he could now skillfully use all of Egg Pancake’s Soul Techniques.

WHOOSH~

A rich, fiery light emanated from Han Ning’s claws as he tore apart the attacking black snakes. He then channeled his Spiritual Power, imagining a powerful hurricane to propel him forward.

In an instant, he appeared behind the man. The flas at his claw tips pulsed, shooting out over a ter long as he stabbed straight for the man’s head.

"SCREECH!"

A deafening, sharp shriek, like nails on glass, suddenly erupted, leaving Han Ning dazed. Trickles of blood seeped from his draconic face, and the flas in his hands flickered unsteadily.

The ink-black gas transford into a chilling, venomous snake. It wrapped itself tightly around his body, squeezing harder and harder as the black gas seeped through his pores and into his skin. Han Ning felt his vitality draining away at a rapid pace.

He had fallen behind after just the first exchange.

In the nick of ti, a cool stream automatically surged through his mind. The cooling sensation alleviated the ntal strain, his consciousness returned, and a bright red light erupted from his body, shattering his bonds.

"Young Beast Master, if you don’t get serious, we’re all going to die here," Hom’s voice rang out again.

Han Ning took a deep breath. He didn’t reply, instead recalling all of Egg Pancake’s Soul Techniques. His mind beca as calm as still water.

"Dragon’s Breath!"

He opened his mouth and spewed a torrent of crimson light. The crisscrossing flas ford a monstrous red wave that indiscriminately engulfed the man.

"BOOM!"

The resulting shockwave instantly turned all the furniture in the dim hall to dust. Wherever the wave of fire passed, it cleansed the evil energy. It burned through eight layers of the man’s black gas defenses, the swirling flas barely coming to a halt just before his brow.

A red glint flashed in Han Ning’s eyes. The flas on his claws suddenly shot out over a ter long, piercing straight through the man’s head. The crimson fire spread domineeringly down from the skull, turning his entire upper body into a raging torch.
