Liu Zheng had insisted repeatedly. Although he could sense that Er Dong was very reluctant to open the door for him, if the pursuit continued like this, it seed that Er Dong really had no reason to resist.
"Alright, then co and have a look," Er Dong said.
As he spoke, the two of them followed his steps, walking over to the greenhouse. When they arrived outside the greenhouse, Liu Zheng noticed that the door was actually locked.
Right then, Liu Zheng felt very strange. If it was truly just a greenhouse for growing vegetables, was there a need to lock it? Another thing was that they were now surrounded by high fences; it was impossible for outsiders to co in. Was there really a need to guard against their own people here?
"Damn, you lock up the greenhouse? What’s this, are you afraid sobody will steal your crops?"
"It’s to prevent chickens, and cows too. Sotis they break in here and, if they got inside, they could ruin the vegetables. Then wouldn’t all our hard work for the year be wasted? So usually, it’s always kept locked."
His explanation seed sowhat reasonable and, at the very least, could fool these people. But what kind of man was Liu Zheng? Was it truly so easy to pull the wool over his eyes with a simple explanation? That was really not an easy task.
Finally, Er Dong had pushed the greenhouse door open. After opening it, he looked inside to see small green seedlings everywhere.
"Damn, what have you planted here? And in this whole greenhouse, you’re only growing this kind of vegetable?"
After the others ca in and glanced over, they saw that the entire greenhouse was filled with lush green sprouts without any other varieties in sight.
"No, there are other things planted here too. It’s just that they are in their young state now and you can’t tell them apart. Once they’ve grown a bit, you should be able to see the difference."
Liu Zheng just nodded slightly, but at that mont, an idea had ford in his mind. However, as soon as he had entered, he had noticed a sll inside that was quite different from what he had expected.
Therefore, he concluded that these plants probably were not normal vegetables.
"How often can you harvest these plants you’re growing?"
While speaking, Liu Zheng reached out to carefully feel one of the tiny seedlings.
When no one was looking, he plucked a leaf and hid it in the palm of his hand.
"It depends on the season. Sotis, if the sunlight is good, then you can harvest every month or so. Actually, we grow quite a lot. When you have ti, you can co over and pick so too."
"Heh, sure, I got it. Oh, and I looked over there earlier, there are a few more greenhouses. Are you planting vegetables in them as well? But with just 5 people here, can you really consu all these vegetables?"
"Of course we can’t finish them all. We’re also trying to make so money by selling them in the city. You know, city folks are after this kind of green lifestyle, so I’m handling it this way. This also allows to earn a bit more money, at least enough to make up for so things."
Liu Zheng didn’t say anything else; he just nodded lightly. Afterward, they all walked out of the greenhouse together.
"That’s the general idea. I see that the factory area is mostly idle at the mont. If this continues, we’ll definitely be losing money, so I think we shouldn’t let this situation go on any longer."
"The key issue is that we’re short on funds right now. Look, village chief, if we had enough money, we could surely sustain the breeding scale. It’s just that we really are in a bit of trouble at the mont."
"I’ve only just taken over as village chief, so there’s virtually no money on the books, and there are many other basic projects in the village that need funding. Don’t worry, I’ll think of a solution as soon as possible to help you out. Besides, we must continue with the breeding farm, and make sure it’s thriving, understand?"
"Village chief, I guarantee you, if the funds are in place and we can introduce all the animal breeds, there will be no problems. No one can match when it cos to professional capabilities."
"Good, then I’ll leave it to you."
After finishing speaking, Liu Zheng patted him lightly on the shoulder but felt an undertone of worry in his eyes.
"Heh, village chief, you really flatter . What difficulty am I experiencing? I’m just doing my best. Although, I have to admit that I’ve been distracted by other things these past two years. But now, as you see, if you want to focus here, I really have nothing to do."
"Don’t worry, I understand the difficulties you’ve been facing, including the financial situation of the breeding farm over the years. That’s not on you. Going forward, I’ll try to find a way to revive the market quickly. By the way, those greenhouses over there are also used for growing vegetables, right?"
"Oh yes, I planted so vegetables there as we didn’t have any other choice and needed to scrape by. So I’ve just temporarily grown so things there, but don’t worry. As soon as the breeding farm reopens, I can tear all those greenhouses down."
"Alright, now I know. If there’s nothing else, you can go back to your work. We have other matters to attend to, so we won’t stay any longer."
"Village chief, it’s almost lunchti. How about we head to the restaurant outside the village and have lunch together?"
"No need for such formalities between us. Alright, you get back to your work, and we’ll be on our way."
After speaking, Liu Zheng just nodded, then followed the others as they left the breeding farm.
Er Dong stood at the entrance of the factory area, watching them disappear before he turned back inside.
When Liu Zheng reached a corner at the end of the path, he suddenly stopped.
