Chapter 768: 701 ‘I’m telling you, will you take responsibility?

Early in the morning, the sunlight shone splendidly across Enchanting Demon City, and also into Shane’s room, bringing quite a bit of brightness and warmth.

However, as the owner of the room, Shane sat on the bed with a look of doubting his entire existence.

Feeling even worse back pain and soreness than the previous two days, Shane had only three sentences in his head.

“Who am I?”

“Where am I?”

“What am I supposed to do?”

Shane was really totally bewildered.

He had decided to pull an all-nighter, so why did he still fall asleep?

Could it be that he had not lived the life of an otaku for too long and was no longer used to it?

Shane could only silently look up to the heavens.

After a while, Shane got up from the bed with considerable difficulty.

There was no choice, this ti, not only was his back pain and soreness worse than the previous two days, but he also seed to have exhausted a lot of physical strength, nearly unable to recover.

If possible, he would have liked to just lie in bed and sleep it off.

But this bed seed toxic, and Shane was a bit scared of it now.

What frightened him even more was that, at so unknown ti, the bed sheets had not only been changed to new ones, but the bed fra even looked like it was about to collapse at any mont, as if it could fall apart at any ti, leaving Shane at a loss for words to describe his current feelings.

Even the clothes he wore seed to have just been put on him, not only were they a new set, but they were also wiped clean, as if he had been thrown into water and bathed while unconscious, with ten kilograms of perfu added to the water, the scent was overwhelming, nearly turning the sky.

Thinking it over, Shane suddenly shouted at his surroundings.

“It’s you, isn’t it? Lasha?”

“I know it’s you! Co out now!”

“Co out nicely now, and your master might still forgive you, got it?”

“Co out!”

Shane shouted more and more excitedly.

He really couldn’t think of anyone other than Lasha who could do all kinds of things to him unknowingly while he slept.

With his current abilities, not even a Transcend Level being could do that, only that unscientific maid could achieve such incredible things.

So, Shane now seriously suspected that Lasha had secretly returned to his side and, just like before, had done various indescribable things with him without his knowledge.

The only question was, even previously, Shane wasn’t supposed to feel so drained after waking up.

If this wasn’t an attack by so unknown juicing machine, Shane would never believe it.

“No more! This can’t go on!”

Shane beca serious.

If this continued, he didn’t even know if he might just die in his sleep one day.

“I must find out what exactly happened.”

Even if he were to die, he would have to die clearly understanding everything, not dying unclearly and drained like this, it was a disgraceful way to die that he absolutely wouldn’t accept.

Thinking this, Shane didn’t even bother to wash up, he just pushed his door open and rushed out.

As he rushed out, he unexpectedly ran straight into Liel.

“What… What happened to you?”

Liel was terribly startled, just about to question Shane when she saw him with red eyes and a pale face, his skin tone like that of a zombie or resentful ghost, which shocked her once again.

Shane didn’t pay attention to Liel.

“I don’t have ti to explain today, just go have fun by yourself.”

Shane rely threw down this sentence and then ran off.

However, before running off, Shane paused his steps, agonizing for a while, then held his breath as he timidly spoke to Liel.

“Could you prepare another batch of tonics for , the stronger, the better… I’ll need them when I return…”

As Shane spoke, his voice got increasingly softer, as if he was confessing so disgrace, with a look of difficulty in speaking.

After finishing, Shane fled awkwardly, leaving only Liel standing there, disheveled in the wind.

And Shane, carrying a full load of sha, almost burst into tears.

“My reputation, completely ruined these past two days.”

Now, surely, he must look like an “incompetent” man in Liel’s eyes.

Just thinking about that woman’s scornful look, Shane felt misery welling up, nearly bursting into tears right then.

Imdiately after, Shane turned his sadness into anger.

“If I ever find out who did this, I sure will make them realize why the flowers are so red…!”

In his mind, Shane crossed out the perpetrator over and over again.

But for so reason, the more he thought about it, the more he felt a sense of back pain and soreness.

It was as if, with each iterative crossing out, his fatigue accumulated once more.

“No more thinking, no more thinking…”

For the sake of his future happiness, Shane quickly reined in his thoughts, daring not to digress any further.

Only when he reached Chafne’s room door did Shane set aside his various thoughts and began knocking vigorously.

“Chafne! Are you there!?”

Shane was rather urgent.

At this mont, he didn’t care about being disturbing or impolite, his previous thoughts of keeping a respectful distance from this Enchanting Demon Lord were gone, overwheld by his desire to understand the whole situation.

The day before yesterday, this Enchanting Demon Lord had acted so strangely; she definitely knew sothing.

While Shane was thinking, from behind the door, Chafne’s voice rang out.

“What do you want so early in the morning…!?”

At that mont, the voice that ca from the room was filled with an even greater exhaustion and anger than Shane’s, and even a thick sense of grievance.

Shane noticed these feelings and inexplicably started feeling guilty.

But soon, Shane’s concern for the unknown situation outweighed the feeling of guilt.

“I have sothing very important to ask you, hurry up and open the door!”

Shane’s tone was still anxious.

But Chafne’s voice beca even more aggrieved and lancholic.

“Can it wait until tomorrow? I’m too exhausted today, even more than the past two days. Let rest properly for a day.”

Chafne was almost pleading.

“You’re exhausted too?” Shane was slightly startled and quickly said, “I feel the sa, unusually tired. Do you know the reason?”

Upon hearing this, Chafne was silent for a long, long ti.

After a long while, Chafne finally spoke.

“I don’t know, I don’t know anything,” Chafne said resentfully, “Stop asking . If you’re tired, go back to your room to rest. Stop bothering , alright?”

After that, Chafne seed to lay down to rest.

But Shane was not willing to let it go.

“I’m even scared to go back to my room now; I’ve encountered too many strange things in the past few days,” Shane said with a pained expression, “Tell honestly, Chafne, is there sothing wrong with this Enchanting Demon Castle?”

“Get lost!” Chafne snapped irritably, “The problem is with you! It’s your own insistence that stirred up such a ss. Who else to bla? You’ve exhausted so much, and I still have to clean up the aftermath and counteract the impacts…!”

“Wait!” Shane interrupted Chafne, stunned, “What did you just say? What about wearing you out? And what’s this about cleaning up aftermaths and countering impacts?”

Chafne didn’t want to answer anymore, or maybe she was just too tired to respond.

“Just know that my Enchanting Demon Castle is fine, and you’re fine too. Nothing that you’re worried about will happen, just go back and rest.”

Chafne spoke with evident weariness in her voice.

“Tomorrow we have to leave for the Moon Demon Territory Center City. You’ll only stay one more night here in the Enchanting Demon Castle, so just go back and get a good night’s sleep. I assure you, nothing will happen tonight, okay?”

Hearing this, Shane was not reassured at all.

“What exactly happened? Can’t you just tell ?”

Shane was becoming quite frustrated.

Chafne was silent.

After a long pause, Chafne spoke faintly.

“If I tell you, will you take responsibility?”

Chafne asked a seemingly absurd question.

“Huh?”

Shane was full of confusion.

Take responsibility?

Responsible for what?

As these thoughts flashed through Shane’s mind, suddenly, several images flashed across his brain.

They were exceedingly beautiful images.

They were exceedingly joyful images.

It was as if so events from the past few days that Shane couldn’t rember were finally poking their heads through, only to disappear again shortly after.

“What was that just now…?”

Shane pressed his head, struggling to rember.

But no matter how hard he tried to recall, those images did not return.

Shane didn’t know that these past few days, whether the incidents occurred in dreams or in half-awake states, they had been deliberately blurred by a demon.

If these events had happened while he was fully awake, the other party naturally couldn’t have blurred them, but unfortunately, that was not the case. The other party had used its Unique Skill as a bridge to interfere with Shane, blurring those ambiguous mories.

That was why Shane couldn’t think of anything, nor did he know what had happened.

Naturally, the other person wouldn’t let Shane rember.

After all, the person themselves couldn’t quite accept it yet.

“Go back.”

Chafne’s distinctly displeased voice ca from inside the room.

“When you arrive at the Moon Demon Territory Center City, you’ll see Little Aiyi whom you’ve been missing day and night.”

“Then, you’ll realize that whatever happened these few days doesn’t matter.”

“Hmph.”

Chafne seed to be in a poor mood, and perhaps she didn’t even realize that her tone had turned a bit sour.

Shane wanted to ask more, but Chafne had already stopped responding, apparently having truly gone to sleep, no longer making any noise.

Shane could only helplessly give up and turn to leave.

Inside the room, Chafne was indeed extrely exhausted, lying in bed, listening to the gradually fading footsteps outside, thinking about the various events of the past few days, and let out a deep sigh.

“What should I do next?”

“Even I don’t know anymore.”

“It’s so annoying…”

Chafne pulled up the quilt, covering her head.

Enchanting Demon Chafne, who had been carefree and did whatever she pleased for tens of thousands of years, from that mont on, finally started to feel troubled.
