Chapter 468: You wouldn’t understand.

Following the event, Shane and Luoqi didn’t celebrate much further; after greeting so close acquaintances, they left in a hurry.

It couldn’t be helped. The situation at hand was concerning—not just for Luoqi, but Shane didn’t want their engagent party ruined if those higher-ups suddenly started a conflict.

Thus, Shane and Luoqi left the venue in the care of Liya and took their leave.

Under such circumstances, the influential guests lost their desire to continue the celebration and, one after the other, began saying their goodbyes and departing from the Royal Palace.

Of course, the incidents of today’s engagent party were sothing they were sure not to forget.

They also wouldn’t forget that two of the Divine Race’s Great Goddesses and two of the Demon Clan’s demons were now present within the Royal Capital, inside the Royal Palace.

As for their objective, it was straightforward; they were all here for Shane.

This made many reassess the power behind Shane, further centing the thought that one must not offend him, let alone make an enemy of him.

“Collaborating with Lord Beizut was certainly the right decision,” Harvis said, relieved.

“We will wait outside the palace for the two Goddesses and see if they have any instructions,” Yule also said, standing guard outside the Royal Palace with the Temple’s Divine Practitioners.

Vivian, Tielle, Lu Muya, and rica, a group of four, were sighing.

“I never imagined I would see the Life Goddess here…”

“It’s a pity I didn’t get to see the Nature Goddess…”

Lu Muya and rica were emotional, one excited and the other sowhat regretful.

Seeing Anima appear made Lu Muya this excited; after all, as a Beastman, the Life Goddess was the highest deity of the Beastman Race. Seeing the actual Life Goddess here was bound to thrill her.

In contrast, rica only felt regret.

The Goddess of Fate appeared, and the Life Goddess appeared too, but the remaining one among the Three Great Goddesses, the Nature Goddess—who was held in the highest regard by her people, the Elf Clan—had not; naturally, rica felt deeply disappointed.

Of course, what rica didn’t know was that the Nature Goddess was indeed present; she just hadn’t shown herself.

Vivian, anwhile, looked at Tielle.

“Aren’t you going over?” Vivian softly said, “If it’s you, you should be eligible to go, right?”

Hearing this, Tielle was taken aback.

“… You knew already?”

Tielle fell silent for a mont before murmuring.

Vivian’s words ant she knew Tielle was like Luoqi, soone who had received Goddess Lidas’s Blessing.

But Tielle had never told anyone except Shane.

So, Vivian’s words genuinely surprised Tielle.

“You probably didn’t try too hard to hide it,” Vivian said with a slight smile. “Plus, we’ve spent quite so ti together. Sotis, you exhibited so abnormal sensitivity and intuition, so I just guessed.”

“And your guess was right.” Tielle replied lightly. “It seems you understand the Divine Race better than anyone else.”

Vivian did not deny this.

She indeed understood the Divine Race.

How could she not when her connections with this race ran deep?

It was unavoidable.

“So, you’re sure you won’t go over?” Vivian asked. “It might be good to have a look.”

“There’s no need.” Tielle shook her head and said, “With the Dragon Demon, the Moon Demon, and the most formidable Evil God by his side, whether I go or not doesn’t matter.”

Tielle’s tone was sowhat off when she spoke these words.

Vivian noticed, but it seed she understood why, for she did not disclose anything.

“If it were you, even just offering a suggestion or two, Goddess Lidas would listen, you know?”

Vivian casually ntioned.

The higher the order of the Goddess, the more they care about their Blessings, and Vivian certainly knew this.

But…

“I’m not like the Princess; other than receiving the blessing as a child, I’ve never interacted with the Goddess of Fate,” Tielle said calmly. “In comparison, whatever I say might not carry as much weight as what the Princess says. If what I say seems effective, then the Princess’ words would be too.”

In any case, whether she went or not didn’t matter.

That was what Tielle wanted to convey.

“Okay then,” Vivian said helplessly. “Are you planning to head back with us then?”

Tielle fell silent.

After a mont, Tielle shook her head.

“No, I’ll take a walk before returning.”

With that, Tielle left on her own.

Watching Tielle’s receding figure, for so reason, Vivian felt a pang of heartache.

“You don’t have to put so much pressure on yourself,” Vivian couldn’t help but call out to Tielle’s back: “I know you see Shane in a special way, probably betting everything on him and planning to diligently improve yourself to serve him, be loyal to him, just like the ancestors of the Elbein family.”

Tielle stopped in her tracks.

Seeing this, Vivian continued.

“I think, in Shane’s heart, your place is definitely special,” Vivian said intently while watching Tielle’s back. “Even if he’s surrounded by the Dragon Demon, the strongest Evil God, and other powerful beings from the God and Demon Clans, it doesn’t an he doesn’t need you.”

Vivian finally revealed what Tielle was worried about in her heart.

Indeed.

Seeing the powerful figures that she couldn’t imagine appearing continuously beside Shane, Tielle finally started to worry.

She worried that she was no longer needed by Shane.

During this period, the reason Tielle trained herself so intensely was because of this worry.

Seeing Shane’s strength grow stronger and the people around him becoming ever more formidable, even Luoqi was going to marry Shane, an urgent feeling suddenly erged in Tielle’s heart.

An urgency to improve herself, to prove herself, to make herself needed by Shane.

At least, her Blessing was telling her—”If you keep dragging your feet like this, there will be no place for you by his side.”

This made Tielle feel not just urgency, but also a sense of crisis.

Furthermore, during this ti, Shane seed to be hiding sothing from her, under Tielle’s usually silent deanor, her heart was becoming more and more agitated.

And today’s event undoubtedly placed the greatest pressure on Tielle.

Because, Shane had finally attracted the attention of the current supres from both the Divine Race and the Demon Clan.

Goddess Nadura of Fate.

Moon Demon Sela.

One is the strongest of the Divine Race.

One is the supre being of the Demon Clan.

In the absence of the Supre God and the Demon King, these two were the true leaders of the God and Demon Clans.

Such individuals appearing beside Shane not only pressured all the nobility, but also created an unprecedented pressure on Tielle.

So…

“You wouldn’t understand, Vivian.”

Without realizing it, Tielle blurted out these words.

“For soone like you, who treats everyone gently and sees it as a duty to protect everyone, you won’t understand my selfishness.”

Having said that, Tielle left the place.

Leaving only Vivian, watching her departing figure, her expression filled with sorrow.

“I actually do understand, more than you could possibly know, Tielle.”

Vivian murmured sorrowfully.

“How could I not understand the feeling of being left behind by the people close to you?”

If it weren’t for that, Vivian wouldn’t have beco who she was now, nor would she have taken it upon herself to protect everyone.

It was just because she no longer wanted to see the people around her leave her behind.

Elsewhere, after leaving the Royal Hall, Tielle was about to leave the Royal Palace when she encountered the person she least wanted to see.

Due to the engagent banquet that covered the entire Human Race being crucial and not permitting any mishaps, Anxi had instructed the Guard Knight Order to step up security within the palace and not overlook any suspicious individuals.

Naturally, as the person leading the entire Guard Knight Order, that commander was also near the venue.

When Tielle saw him, he was alone, guarding a vital passage by the Royal Hall, staring at her emotionlessly.

Tielle also grew cold, walked forward without a word, not even thinking of greeting him, and simply bypassed him, intending to leave.

But at that mont, he spoke up.

“Now you can’t even face ?”

Aridia’s indifferent voice made Tielle’s steps halt abruptly, and she turned around, her eyes coldly fixed on him.

“That’s not the look one gives to their biological father.”

Aridia glanced at Tielle, his expression just as cold despite his words.

Tielle was sarcastic.

“You don’t really expect to call you ‘Father’ at this point, do you?”

Tielle said.

Regrettably, Aridia appeared not to care.

“Such trivial matters really don’t matter,” Aridia said emotionlessly. “Just rember, you are a daughter of the Elbein Family, and have the blood of the Elbeins flowing in you.”

Tielle clenched her fists.

“What exactly are you trying to say?”

Tielle questioned in a low voice, suppressing her emotions.

“Nothing much,” Aridia replied casually. “Just a reminder for you to watch your surroundings lately and not let any thieves coveting the blood in your body succeed.”

Having said that, Aridia turned and left without any attachnt.

Tielle also turned and left, as if she could no longer bear to stay here any longer.

Father and daughter thus turned their backs to each other, going their separate ways.

That scene, as if telling others, the distance between them was growing ever farther.

And soone witnessed this scene.

“It seems I’ve co at just the right ti.”

William smirked, his expression filled with a chilling aura.
