Chapter 435: 427 “Moro”_2

Given the border adjacency and the incessant comparisons as Lands of the Brave, conflicts and discord between the two sides were almost an inevitability.

Yet, no matter what, Mitra had been the great hero that ended the war. The Mitra Kingdom was thus treated with favor by the Divine Race, and the Empire couldn’t overtly act against the Kingdom—not without breach of decorum and reason.

Therefore, past conflicts between the Kingdom and the Empire were confined to minor border skirmishes that never escalated too far.

Without such a state of affairs, the Empire would never have had the opportunity to arrange a marital alliance with Tielle’s mother, right?

It was only because the hatred between them was not yet openly acknowledged.

The relationship between the Kingdom and the Empire plumted to an all-ti low following the large-scale assassination in the Royal Capital a decade ago.

Harvis had said as much.

“If I told you that the incident was a sudden, spur-of-the-mont event, would you believe it?”

Harvis uttered these words.

“Sudden, spur-of-the-mont?”

Shane was taken aback.

“That’s right,” Harvis seriously said, “The Leferut Family is a military house known for cultivating spies, assassins, and Death Soldiers. They are extrely valued by the Imperial Family, and throughout history, the Family had been graced with marriages to Imperial Princesses on several occasions. They, too, carried the Blood of the Brave of the Ragnar Empire.”

Hearing this, Shane was dumbfounded.

Did this an…

“Thielle Elbein is actually the heir to both the Mitra Kingdom Royal Family and the Ragnar Empire Royal Family’s Brave bloodlines. The initial purpose of the Empire’s proposal for marital union was not for the daughter of the Leferut Family to spy but to steal the Kingdom’s Blood of the Brave and mix it with that of the Ragnar Empire, giving birth to an exceptionally gifted descendant.”

Harvis began to feel a twinge of helplessness.

“Regretfully, the birth of Princess Luosilusti nearly shook the entire Human Race. The Empire, which had been overjoyed by the birth of Cappelen, was then struck by such astonishing news. It’s said that many within the Imperial Family fell into despair, believing fate was mocking the Ragla Empire, denying us prominence.”

Given such a ntality, it was not strange that so extre strategies erged.

The Family Head of the Leferuts at the ti was among them, believing that the Empire’s Blood of the Brave alone would never suffice to defeat the Kingdom, and thus resolutely decided on the marital alliance.

Unfortunately, the direct line of the Kingdom’s Royal Family included only Anxi, with other descendants either being collateral relatives or excessively ambitious contenders for the throne who were jointly punished by the prior King and Anxi. With the Leferut Family not being the Imperial Family, it was basically impossible for them to marry into the Kingdom’s Royal Family imdiately, so the Leferuts planned to start with the Elbein Family, the Royal Family’s guardians.

The ancestors of the Elbein Family were themselves Descendants of the Brave, and historically they too had married Princesses of the Royal Family, carrying a significant Brave bloodline. As the first target for stealing the rival kingdom’s bloodline, they were undoubtedly qualified.

Hence, Tielle’s mother was sent and gave birth to Tielle the following year.

“It must be said, the birth of Thielle Elbein truly delighted the Leferut Family,” Harvis sighed, “It is said that not only does she possess a talent second only to the Kingdom Treasure, but she also holds an extrely powerful Unique Skill; she was born with a striking force. These secrets, although the Elbein Family chose to conceal them, the Leferut’s daughter secretly conveyed to the Empire, becoming known to the Leferut Family.”

“From that ti on, the Leferuts have been intent on taking Thielle Elbein back, placing great importance on her,” Harvis said to Shane with an insinuating look, “Regrettably, as for the nature of Thielle Elbe’s Unique Skill, the Leferut Family never disclosed it. William, every ti I asked him about it, would gloss over it. It piques one’s curiosity–what exactly is that power?”

Hearing this, Shane’s expression had turned rather grim.

He knew that the Leferut Family must have been aware of the “Ghost” within Tielle, which explained their intense interest in her.

For the Elbein Family, the power Tielle possessed was an extrely dangerous thing. But to the Leferut Family, who specialized in training spies, assassins, and even Death Soldiers, the more dangerous the power, the more enchanting it likely was, right?

They coveted only Tielle’s power.

In their eyes, employing so extre asures to properly ‘train’ Tielle into a compliant tool wasn’t difficult at all.

Thus, their desire for Tielle beca utterly transparent.

However, the nature of this matter suddenly changed ten years ago.

“At that ti, an unknown woman appeared in the Lefirut Family.”

Harvis’s face began to cloud over.

“A woman?”

Shane also furrowed his brows.

“That is a very terrifying and detestable woman,” Harvis said with a cold face, “She used so thod to make the Lefirut Family completely obedient to her, and she was introduced to the Emperor, my father.”

From that ti on, everything began to silently change.

“My father was so captivated by that woman that he would comply with anything she said, and gradually, he even neglected state affairs, allowing the woman to gradually infiltrate the Empire’s governnt.”

“That woman also frad my mother, causing my father to depose her as the Imperial Concubine. She herself rose to the position composedly and has now beco a person of trendous influence in the Empire.”

“Because of her rise to power, all of my father’s concubines either died or were imprisoned like my mother. Now, the Empire is almost entirely under her rule, and even many nobles who were originally against her have been dismissed, barely one in ten remains.”

“And the Lefirut Family are her trusted followers, the masterminds behind the large-scale assassination event in the Royal Capital. It was all her doing, and she had the Lefirut Family’s daughter carry it out, including finding the ‘Slaughterer Faction’.”

Harvis’s emotionless explanation made Shane narrow his eyes.

If this was indeed the case, it would an that the Poisonous Consort Harvis had spoken of was the beginning of all these tragedies.

“I and Cappelen have resisted her more than once, especially Cappelen, who unlike doesn’t know how to flatter her on the surface, deceive her. She is almost completely incompatible with her, and if it wasn’t for Cappelen’s special status, she might have already moved against her, right?”

Harvis said so.

“I even suspect that in the Cosmos incident, the Poisonous Consort might have been involved. Cappelen was almost forcibly sent there by her, and afterward, Cappelen disappeared.”

Hearing Harvis’s words, Shane’s heart suddenly skipped a beat.

(This feeling…)

Shane discreetly pressed his hand against his chest, feeling his quickening heartbeat, a sudden revelation dawning on him.

(Could it be that in the Cosmos incident, the hidden antagonist working with ‘Mirage’ is this woman?)

As this thought arose, Shane suddenly understood.

This was a revelation of the Blessing.

The Blessing was telling Shane that this woman was the hidden antagonist behind everything.

“Why would she plan such a thing, targeting the Kingdom?”

Shane inquired of Harvis.

“I’m not sure,” Harvis shook his head, “I just know that she seems to hate the Kingdom very much, especially the Royal Family. Whenever there is a rumor about Princess Luoqi in the Empire, she shows a spine-chilling smile as if she wants to carve up Princess Luoqi, or rather the Royal Family of the Kingdom, her murderous intent is extrely strong.”

Shane fell into deep thought.

“What is her na?”

Shane casually asked.

Harvis answered.

“Moro.”
