Chapter 391: 387 ‘She is very much like .

According to Anima, the Divine Race’s “True Seal” generally does not manifest outwardly, and after death, it hides imdiately, slowly transferring to other places, waiting to be reincarnated.

However, this does not an the “True Seal” cannot be discovered.

If the enemy has special abilities and knows about the existence of the “True Seal” beforehand and discovers its location, they could completely destroy it, preventing the Goddess of the Divine Race from ever being reincarnated and revived.

Therefore, the Goddesses of the Divine Race have a tradition since ancient tis: they entrust their “True Seal” to soone truly trustworthy to protect it.

This way, no matter how the Goddess of the Divine Race fights outside, even if she dies, one day she will be reincarnated and revived by the side of this person.

But this also ans sothing else.

That is, the Goddess places her life and death entirely in this person’s hands, binding herself completely to them.

If she trusts the wrong person and hands over her “True Seal,” it’s a self-chosen path to destruction.

Even if she trusts the right person, if they lack the capacity to protect the “True Seal” or themselves, once they die, she, too, will die with them, with no chance of luck.

For this reason, the Goddesses of the Divine Race do not easily entrust their “True Seal” to others, especially the more powerful Goddesses.

After all, isn’t it more reassuring and safer to protect oneself rather than entrust one’s fate to another?

With this in mind, the act of entrusting the “True Seal” usually only occurs among the weaker or completely non-combatant mbers of the Divine Race. A Goddess with the ability to fight and protect herself, or one who doesn’t trust others much, typically wouldn’t do such a thing.

Especially now, with the war between the God and Demon Clans over, the factors threatening the lives of the Goddesses have greatly reduced, so even less so would anyone choose to entrust their “True Seal” to another.

Moreover, once the “True Seal” is entrusted, it can never be reclaid and becos forever integrated with the other person, unable to be separated, which adds to the gravity of this lifelong decision; nowadays, hardly anyone would make such a choice.

Yet, Jade entrusted her “True Seal” to Shane.

What did that an?

Quite simple.

“She wants you to take care of her affairs afterward,” Ai Yi bluntly stated Jade’s intentions.

“If she ultimately fails, then you just destroy the “True Seal,” and the Evil God Lilith will be completely annihilated, no longer posing a threat to this world.”

That was exactly the case.

For a mont, Shane felt a mixture of complex emotions.

He instinctively touched his own hand.

On that hand, the pattern known as the “True Seal” wasn’t too obvious; unless it was intentionally sought out, it was normally challenging to notice.

But it was this small mark that determined the life and death of a Goddess who could rival Demons.

“Sigh…”

Shane exhaled all the complex emotions in his heart and looked up at the source of light in the sky.

No one knew what Shane was thinking.

Except for Lasha, who had always been watching him.

“From now on, let’s leave everything to Miss Jade to resolve,” Lasha said indifferently, suggesting, “Even if Mr. Shane rushes in now, he probably couldn’t help much anyway.”

“…I know,” Shane said with a wry smile, yet still gazing intently at the light source in midair.

Looking back, it all seed quite incredible.

“I’m not really a good person,” Shane suddenly blurted out inadvertently.

“Although I was inexplicably summoned to this world and received a second life, another chance to live, and even got the strongest Holy Sword and the strongest cheat, I didn’t really intend to do anything special.”

Shane’s impromptu confession left everyone montarily stunned, then silent in contemplation.

No one spoke, but they all listened intently.

Whether it was Anima and Iris, who didn’t originally know of Shane’s identity and existence, or Ai Yi, Laischa, and Lasha, who did, they all concentrated and listened seriously.

Because this was the first ti they had heard Shane talk about his own matters, and it was a good opportunity to understand his thoughts and current situation.

In this situation, Shane slowly continued.

“I don’t have any grand aspiration to save the world.”

“I don’t have any great ambition to conquer the world.”

“I don’t know if it’s just my nature, or if my values changed after dying once, but I just objectively accepted the fact that I got to live again. Although I am curious and amazed, I am not overly joyous or too excited.”

Being reincarnated into the Otherworld as a Hero.

If it were soone else in his place, they certainly would be excited, thrilled, apprehensive, at a loss, or even confused for a long ti, wouldn’t they?

They also develop all kinds of thoughts, thinking about how their lives have been completely changed, and finally resolve to leave sothing behind, do sothing in this Otherworld, right?

But Shane had none of those thoughts.

“I’m quite content with whatever cos my way.”

“I also go with the flow.”

“Other than wanting to repay the Goddess who summoned and brought back to life, to help her achieve the purpose of my summoning, as the price for having another shot at life, I really didn’t have anything else I wanted to do.”

“Of course, I don’t feel empty about this, nor do I think there’s anything wrong with it, because my desires are pretty mundane. I just want to live a trouble-free, peaceful life in this world, and maybe see so interesting things and events, that’s all.”

“To be honest, choosing soone like to be a Hero must have been so kind of mistake, right?”

Shane said this.

“Soone like knows myself well. I’m not the warm-hearted type, nor do I consider others much. I’m not particularly good, but I’m not bad either, just a very ordinary person indeed.”

Ordinary people are like this, they aren’t all warm-hearted or always considering others, they just look out for themselves.

Shane was just like them, so he always considered himself to be very ordinary.

“If I can help others with sothing that doesn’t require much effort, I’d still do it, since it doesn’t affect much.”

“But, when a little girl was inexplicably packaged up and thrown at , with everyone on the other side committing seppuku, and later signs indicating she was no ordinary person, getting involved would surely be a huge trouble.”

“With troubles like these, my style would definitely be to avoid them at all costs. Even if I couldn’t bring myself to just abandon her, I would certainly try to find a way to entrust her to soone else and pass the buck.”

Yet, in the end, Shane broke his usual deanor, not only taking on Jade but also willingly helping her, to the point of exposing his identity and even risking causing trouble to break the Sealing, offending the Beastman Priest Group, which was truly unimaginable.

Shane had always believed it was so inexplicable premonition within him that was causing trouble.

But now, upon careful reflection, if that premonition was truly the guidance of fate, then it wasn’t leading Shane to do sothing, but rather allowing him to do sothing he himself wanted to do.

Luoqi had also said that the premonition and revelation brought by the Blessing granted by the Goddess of Fate, was a power “that arises when there is sothing one must address personally, through the guidance of fate, you’ll eventually co into contact with the core of the problem, amidst various coincidences and happenstance.”

In other words, if it isn’t directly related to the person, or if it isn’t sothing that one’s personality cannot ignore and must solve, then the premonitions and revelations would not appear.

So, in the matter concerning Jade, what was Shane’s connection?

And why did Shane break away from his usual style, so actively helping Jade, to the extent of causing troubles and stirring up such a commotion?

The reason was actually very straightforward.

“She’s a lot like .”

Shane finally understood this point.

“I was randomly reincarnated, summoned to be a Hero in this world.”

“She was born just as inexplicably and beca an Evil God, arriving in this world as well.”

“The difference is, I was chosen as a Hero and have almost entirely reaped benefits, while she, chosen as an Evil God, has almost exclusively suffered. Not only rejected by her own body and power but also turned into a Ghost out of nowhere.”

“While I was going with the flow, she too was going with the flow, but my drifting was a choice, while hers was forced upon her, helplessly watching her other half cause disasters and get Sealed, ending up sealed herself.”

“Then, I had but one goal, to give thanks, hence I wandered, and she also had but one goal, to return to her true form, yet after nearly ten thousand years of wandering this land, she saw no hint of hope.”

At this point, Shane beca sowhat sarcastic.

“We are two stark contrasts, initially starting in such similar circumstances, with journeys and directions also sowhat alike, yet our developnt and consequences couldn’t be farther apart.”

“It’s as if it’s telling that if I make a wrong move, or have bad luck, her fate could very well be mine.”

Given that, how could Shane not be touched and do sothing?

But if he had waited to understand all this before taking action, it might have been too late.

Therefore, the revelation of fate appeared, leading Shane to choose to take Jade with him and extend a helping hand to her.

This was the true reason for all that Shane had done.

At that mont, Shane realized this.

And so, he completed everything that he was ant to do.

Since that was the case…

“It’s ti for you to stand at the starting line again, to face the beginning, and choose for yourself what to do next, little girl.”

Shane, looking towards the source of light in the sky, uttered these words.

“Don’t fail, alright?”

With that, Shane’s words ca to an end.

The ladies listened to all this without speaking, still maintaining their silence.

As for what they were thinking in their hearts, that, only they knew.
