Chapter 363: 360 ‘It’s really different.’ _2

Even the Demon Clan of old had to montarily sheath their swords in the face of such power, which gives one an idea of just how formidable the Evil God Lilith must have been.

“Hell… huh?”

Shane muttered to himself.

Both Iris and Ai Yi had ntioned this word.

It was likely, during the era when the Evil God Lilith ran rampant, that the surface world must have been a living hell, wasn’t it?

That such a being was soone he had almost personally unleashed.

“No wonder those Beastman Priests were so enraged.”

Shane forced a bitter smile.

Ai Yi seed to be aware of the events from last night as well; she turned her gaze to Shane.

“You weren’t really thinking of letting that lunatic loose, were you?”

Ai Yi’s tone beca sowhat serious.

“What, are you scared?”

Shane quirked an eyebrow, speaking in a tone that was half-mocking, half-smiling.

“I’m warning you not to ss around.” Ai Yi, not certain if Shane was joking, could only caution him, saying, “It’s not sothing to be trifled with. One slip, and the Human Realm might cease to exist.”

This was no exaggeration.

Even the God and Demon Clans of ancient tis barely managed to contain the Evil God Lilith, and the world, before it was split into three parts, had nearly been destroyed by her hand. Who would want to see such a crazed being set free?

Typically indifferent to most things, even Ai Yi unusually felt compelled to offer a word of caution.

“The tis are not what they once were. Now the Gods, Humans, and Demons of the Three Clans have moved towards peaceful coexistence. The wars have long since ended. If you release sothing that dangerous, it won’t be a trifling matter.”

Ai Yi’s admonition led to another wry smile from Shane.

“Do I look like soone who lacks discretion?”

Shane posed this question to Ai Yi.

Ai Yi stared intently at Shane before replying.

“You do.”

Her reply ca without hesitation.

“…”

Shane’s mouth twitched in irritation, and he felt the urge to pull this little brat into his embrace and punish her… no, to reprimand her a few tis.

Am I really that untrustworthy?

I admit that normally, I may have been a bit wayward, a bit cold-hearted, a bit brutal, leaving quite the impression on all of you, but that was all an expression of love!

In tis like this, aren’t I very serious? Right?

Shane sighed.

“Okay, fine. Let’s say I’m soone who lacks discretion. But would I really commit an act that’s detrintal both to others and to myself?” Shane made this point, saying, “I’m not the Demon King. I have no desire to destroy the world.”

This statent significantly irked Ai Yi.

“Whether your words make sense or not aside, I don’t like the example you’re giving,” Ai Yi said. “Does being the Demon King an one wants to destroy the world?”

“Huh?” Shane blinked, puzzled. “Isn’t that the case?”

“Of course not!” Ai Yi was extrely certain, and perhaps even a bit infuriated as she said, “Don’t assu that just because soone is the Supre God, they are compassionate and righteous, or that the Demon King is a malevolent entity that seeks to destroy the world!”

Ai Yi seed particularly unable to accept this.

“Well, personally, I’m not against your point of view.” Shane blinked his eyes and said, “But if the Demon King isn’t seeking to destroy the world, then why did she start a war?”

Given that the God and Demon Clans were enemies from the very mont of their creation, there must have been one side that first harbored enmity and subsequently initiated the war, right?

And according to historical records, it seems that it was the Demon Clan, or rather the Demon King, who first stirred up the strife.

It was by the orders of the Demon King that the Demon Clan launched an attack on the Divine Race, plunging into a long-lasting conflict.

In such a case, if the Demon King’s motive wasn’t world destruction, then what was it?

“Because…!”

Ai Yi almost said sothing impulsively but held back.

Watching her, Shane felt an unexpected surge of irritation rising within him.

This irritation ca suddenly, giving Shane the feeling that “sothing” was influencing him, making him feel sowhat strange.

Unfortunately, before Shane could determine the source of this feeling, Ai Yi sighed.

“…There’s no use telling you.” Ai Yi, as if deflated, her inner wounds seemingly reopened, said in a dull voice, “After all, the Demon King has been vanquished, and such matters are no longer important.”

Her mood inevitably beca somber when she said this.

Shane didn’t know what to say.

Ai Yi appeared to have held the Demon King in high regard.

Indeed, one should understand that the Demons are beings born of the Demon King’s Magic Power, akin to her children and descendants.

In other words, for Ai Yi, the Demon King and her mother were one and the sa.

And who could neglect their own mother?

Definitely not, right?

Not to ntion, Ai Yi was the youngest among the Six Great Demons. She must have been the one most attached to the Demon King (her mother), right?

Otherwise, when the Demon King was being hunted, Ai Yi wouldn’t have lost control right then and there, nearly consud by hatred, on the verge of seeking frenzied revenge.

So…

“Let’s not talk about the Demon King, let’s talk about the Evil God Lilith,” Shane changed the subject, saying, “You told not to let her out, but I’ve already broken her seal.”

As ntioned before, the current seal was only temporarily stabilized, not restored.

“The seal will eventually crack open, and then Evil God Lilith will still break free, right?”

That’s how Shane put it.

“No wonder the magic flow in this city called Cosmos is even stranger than it was yesterday,” Ai Yi ca back to her senses, nodding while saying, “But you probably don’t need to worry.”

“Why?” Shane blinked, puzzled.

“Because the Divine Race must have already noticed the problem with the seal,” Ai Yi stated frankly, “The Holy Daughter from the Foxman Clan is an envoy of Anima, right? So the Goddess must have learned about her using the Main God’s power to repair the seal. It won’t be long before that Goddess will co down to the Human Realm and repair the seal in person.”

“The Life Goddess herself is coming?” Shane raised an eyebrow.

Did that an he was very likely about to et one of the apexes of the Divine Race?

That was really…

“What, scared?” Ai Yi sneered, “Worried that Anima will trouble you because of the seal?”

There was only one thing Shane wanted to say in response to Ai Yi’s remarks.

“Do I look like soone who lacks courage?”

Shane said this, seemingly aggrieved.

Ai Yi was speechless.

This guy, wasn’t he afraid of being struck down again?

Whether you were afraid or not, didn’t you have any idea?

“Anyway, you decide for yourself,” Ai Yi seed too lazy to continue the idle chat with Shane, saying, “After all, our target is only the Old Demon Clan Faction. We really don’t need to deal with such big trouble.”

Leaving those words, Ai Yi was ready to turn around and leave.

However, before Ai Yi could walk away, Shane’s voice suddenly rang out.

“What if I want to get involved?”

At these words, Ai Yi’s footsteps ca to a sudden halt.

Ai Yi didn’t turn around.

But Ai Yi could feel that Shane’s gaze was fixed intently on her back.

“…You’ve always hated trouble, haven’t you?”

Ai Yi fell silent for a while before saying this.

“Yes, I hate trouble the most,” Shane admitted candidly but with a helpless tone, “But this ti, I might just ddle a little.”

“Why?” Ai Yi asked, puzzled, “It has nothing to do with you, does it?”

“Indeed, it has nothing to do with ,” Shane confird as calmly and helplessly as before, compelling himself to say, “But without my help, that girl will probably never achieve her wish. I’m afraid she’ll roam the world forever, never finding release.”

How cruel and painful that was, goes without saying.

Otherwise, why would Jade be so eager to break the seal?

Knowing that once the seal was broken, the world would beco Hell, Jade still couldn’t help but do so.

This showed that she must have reached her limit, on the verge of collapsing.

In that case, what else could Shane do?

He could only ddle this once.

“…Even if it ans becoming an enemy of the Divine Race, or even the entire world?”

Ai Yi asked faintly.

Shane laughed at once.

“It has a very Hero-like feel to it, doesn’t it?”

With a simple sentence, Shane conveyed his thoughts to Ai Yi.

Ai Yi imdiately laughed too.

“It indeed has a very Hero-like feel,” Ai Yi admitted, “Just that I still want to say, you really are different from other Heroes.”

After saying that, Ai Yi left.

Shane watched Ai Yi go, smiled, and then turned his gaze back outside.

Outside, the scenery remained the sa.
