Capítulo 1488: Chapter 88: Fateful Encounter (1/2)_2

Wang Anfeng quietly listened to her speak, occasionally offering a comnt or two.

But at this mont, when Dongfang Ximing looked up, she saw Wang Anfeng and Xue Qinshuang chatting and laughing. The expressions on their faces were as usual, like when they were in Liangzhou City, but she sohow felt an intangible Qi chanism between them, like a Heavenly Secrets barrier, making it hard to join their conversation or even speak.

She could only hold onto her snacks, holding her breath, eating and watching by herself.

Evidently traveling together in a group of three, yet always feeling as if she were alone.

Wang Anfeng was just talking to Xue Qinshuang about the martial arts he had seen during his travels in the Western Regions. He had just ntioned how the martial arts there differed from those in the Central Plains, often involving the use of the visualization technique, when both of their expressions suddenly paused, and they turned their heads to look.

Dongfang Ximing, chewing on her snacks, also turned her ear to listen.

And then her little face suddenly turned a bit pale. She climbed out of the carriage, saying:

“Brother, this is not so deep mountain or ancient forest, how could there be a black bear here?”

“How could there be one in winter?”

On one side of the road, there was a large forest that provided shade and coolness for travelers. Yet, in mid-February, it still hadn’t grown any green leaves, looking desolate and bleak with scattered stones.

The dry trees and green stones ahead were suddenly shattered by a black shadow.

A deep growl shook the surroundings, and a terrifying black bear, standing over two ters tall even on all fours, charged forward without stopping.

The black bear’s entire body was covered in shiny black fur, puffed out and appearing fluffy, protecting a little girl in a white Taoist robe behind it. Its eyes were blood-red, and its usually hidden fangs were exposed, like a wild beast enraged, roaring and bringing gusts of wind.

Its body was already riddled with several penetrating wounds.

With a sudden roar, its body swelled again, nearly reaching one zhang, then abruptly stood upright, its nearly two-zhang tall fra, muscles tightly coiled beneath its fur, indicating solid muscle, then its right paw swung forward ferociously.

The bear, utilizing its innate attack thods, maximized the power of this forest beast, and this blow was terrifying, its strength far exceeding a thousand jin.

A man ahead holding a sword recognized the danger and, unwilling to take the hit head-on, floated backward.

At the sa ti, he swung his sword, intending to slice off the bear’s paw. The black bear’s blood-red eyes exuded a violent frenzy, ignoring the sword, while its mouth opened wide, displaying a mouthful of cold, sharp fangs, aiming to bite the man’s head fiercely.

If the bite landed, even the head of a Middle Third Rank martial artist would instantly beco a mush of flesh.

But suddenly, several tall n, wearing armor and wielding golden hooks connected with spears, leaped out from behind the bear. Their faces were covered with bronze masks, with primitive and rugged patterns casting layers of shadows. The linked spears were aid at the bear’s limbs, for even if these were just elite Heavenly Soldiers from Heaven Palace, they couldn’t be underestimated. They were well-trained and had no trouble capturing this exotic beast.

Zhang Tingyun’s eyes flashed with a bit of clear light.

Years ago, the Supre had gone to Kunlun to seek a trace of Kunlun Qi.

As the Heavenly Soldiers were about to form a formation, and the Kunlun Qi in the little girl’s eyes was about to turn outward, aligning with the strike of the one in Kunlun, the seemingly crazed black bear suddenly rolled over, avoiding the spear tip and losing the final chance to exchange injury for a deadly escape.

The blue Qi in Zhang Tingyun’s eyes dimd and returned to circulate within her.

The Heavenly Soldiers saw the remarkably demonic black bear suddenly crouch on the ground like a tad house pet. Its muscles, tense with rage, and puffed-up fur all withdrew.

The beast’s forr ferocity, brutality, and cunning disappeared from its eyes, replaced by relief and appeasent, like a cat or dog returning ho after losing a fight outside. The remaining Heavenly Soldiers were puzzled but each withdrew, instantly forming a formation to prevent this cunning beast from suddenly charging out again.

The sword-wielding Heavenly General’s eyes were, however, filled with savagery. He assud the beast knew it was dood and was pleading. Though he wondered why the Immortal Lord and others hadn’t appeared, it was clear this little girl was the landmark they sought. This black bear had caused him considerable trouble earlier, and now he had no intention of showing rcy.

He shook the sword in his hand, stirring up a clear light like a tide, and brought it down towards the bear.

But the cruelty on his face instantly froze.

The sword in his hand slipped from his grasp, screaming, like a bird circling in the sky, flowing with fierce lightning, and he looked up at the flying sword, dazed for a mont.

Then he suddenly turned his head.

The Heavenly People’s pupils constricted sharply.

The place sealed by the formation now had one more person.

The sowhat pale winter sunlight fell on the bear’s back. The little girl in the white Taoist robe sat nestled in the bear’s fluffy fur, her face pale, yet her eyes were the sa as before—clear and pure. Beside her appeared a young man, dressed in a blue gown.

The little girl looked at the young man, her expression unchanged from before.

Then she took the initiative to reach out and grab the young man’s fingers.

The Heavenly Soldier didn’t know why, but a slight unease arose in his heart. Nonetheless, being a Celestial and the joy of the past century instinctively led him to make the most unwise statent, mobilizing his Qi chanism and shouting angrily:

“Who dares to co and interfere, retreat at once!”

Wang Anfeng did not answer, instead, he turned his hand to clasp Zhang Tingyun’s, smiling gently.

His other hand flicked his sleeve.

The Shaolin Temple Prayer Beads glowed and floated, connecting two worlds. His right hand concealed in his sleeve, long swords seed to fly out from his cuff, continuously piercing through the air, seemingly endless, tearing the air—one, ten, even thirty—densely hovering in mid-air.

They varied in form but all glead with a cold light.

The sky was filled with Sword Qi, the sky’s azure hue staining the air with a stabbing chill.

These swords were prepared by Mr. Ying, but strangely, each sword was of Famous Sword quality.

Not knowing where Mr. Ying acquired them, Wang Anfeng never doubted him.

Wang Anfeng reached out to pick up Zhang Tingyun, wrapping his arm around her.

Though the little girl was already ten years old, she was still quite petite, capable of sitting on his arm.

The smile on his face was warm and approachable, not looking at the Heaven Soldier, but instead looking at Zhang Tingyun, saying they hadn’t seen each other in a long ti, noting how much she’d grown, asking if she had been well lately, saying the kind of warm words that co with reunions.

Then, the thirty-seven Famous Swords in the air suddenly turned.
