......
Northern Frontier, Jade Pot Mountain.
The king who united the nine great tribes of the Northern Frontier was dressed in thick fur clothes, with armor beneath. On his left side was a short knife in a brown scabbard, and on his right, he carried a long sword. The cloak on his back continually fluttered backward in the snow wind, and he stood straight.
Behind him were his son and the Great General.
This Great General, once a slave, still had scars on his face. He looked down at the snow and wind whistling past his feet with a face full of wonder.
They had already walked to the highest part of Jade Pot Mountain. This was the realm of the Heavenly God. In the past, no one had ever been able to walk so high along the mountain path of Jade Pot Mountain, not even him. Lifting his head, he saw the azure sky.
Holy and clear, it made him want to cry, to prostrate on the ground and kiss the earth beneath his feet.
They walked further upward for a while, reaching the peak of this sacred mountain of the Northern Frontier.
Then they saw the jade platform. The General and the Prince were stunned. Only the Northern Xiongnu King did not stop walking. They all held their knives and followed the king, moving forward. Through the increasingly fierce wind and snow, the General saw soone standing in front of the platform.
It was a white-haired person. He originally thought that because of the perpetual snow on Jade Pot Mountain, he had seen wrong. But as he approached, he realized that person’s hair was truly pure white, like ice and snow, draped over their shoulders, like an old man, yet their eyes remained bright.
The Northern Xiongnu King took the initiative to bow to the person, using the Central Plains’ etiquette, and said:
"It has been a long ti since we’ve t, Foreigner Mr. Chu."
The white-haired person nodded. He only turned his head when the three ca up, and at other tis, he was always looking at the platform. On the platform were five wordless stone monunts and another person with red at the corners of their eyes.
He looked intently for a long ti and then sighed, saying:
"It really has been a long ti."
He smiled.
"The reason my Great Wilderness Stronghold has been so smooth for decades is still thanks to you for stirring up that Dichi Khan King. If not for attracting the attention of the Central Plains’ Imperial Court and Jianghu, even if I let the White Tiger Hall set up everywhere, it would not necessarily have drawn away the attention of the Central Plains people."
"In that case, what I seek would eventually be discovered, just like twenty years ago..."
The Northern Xiongnu King drew out his short knife, holding it with both hands as he approached, and said slowly:
"You are being too polite. This was all part of the agreent."
Mr. Chu chuckled, murmuring:
"Agreent, indeed... Finally reaching this step, it has taken so long, but finally, we are here. Almost two hundred years have passed, and everything is gathered. Although the Heavenly Inquiry Scroll Fragnt shattered by Central Plains Martial Artists five hundred years ago is only partially collected, it is enough."
"Penglai Island is still occupied by the Dongfang Clan."
"The Kunlun Mountains have left Kunlun’s qi chanism, severed from this realm."
"No matter. As long as Jade Pot Mountain becos the new marker, it will suffice."
The Northern Xiongnu King looked at the person lying like a corpse on the jade platform, still recalling how this person had burst through the millennia of snow from Jade Pot Mountain, charging out of the Northern Frontier and into the Central Plains, and then sohow returned to the Northern Frontier, killing many before charging back up Jade Pot Mountain, where the Border Army couldn’t stop him.
Mr. Chu seed to notice his gaze and said:
"If I rember correctly, the Northern Frontier should have a legend that Dugu Mohe bet with soone never to beco a Great Grandmaster or to descend from the Snow Mountain."
The Northern Xiongnu King withdrew his gaze, nodded, and said:
"There is indeed such an agreent."
Mr. Chu said with a smile:
"It’s true. Back then, I made the agreent with him not to beco a Great Grandmaster."
"Dugu Mohe had exceptional talent, but his mind was restless, surely thinking about advancing through other ans. The best thod was the Taoist Sect’s Three Corpse Decapitation. I infiltrated the Taoist Sect, allowing him to obtain a half-piece. In fact, that half-piece was personally written by ."
"Afterwards, I pretended to et him in Jianghu, telling him that he could cultivate by borrowing the qi chanism carried in the snow and wind on Jade Pot Mountain to forcibly decapitate the three corpses."
The white-haired man had a faint smile at the corners of his mouth, and said:
"Sure enough, he succeeded."
"And indeed went down the mountain to challenge Kunlun, his left Taoist incarnation forcibly shattered, turning extre and demonic. He hasn’t left Jade Pot Mountain for decades. His body’s ridians and blood veins are filled with the qi chanism of Jade Pot Mountain. It is the best sacrificial artifact."
He took the short knife from the hands of the Northern Xiongnu King.
The short knife fell onto Dugu Mohe’s heart, penetrating halfway. The gemstone on the hilt glowed blood red, flashing like an ominous eye. Mr. Chu placed the remaining Heavenly Inquiry Scroll Fragnt around Dugu Mohe, staining it with his heart’s blood.
Dugu Mohe, entering the demonic realm, had vaguely stepped into Great Grandmaster.
But the qi chanism and blood vessels in his body, designed with the rich qi chanism of Jade Pot Mountain, tore up the wind and snow on the entire mountain. Three imnse tornados pierced the Heaven and Earth, swirling, the raging wind sounding like thunder, spreading across the entire grassland.
Wolves and livestock howled and trembled, rivers reversed, and frost like sand was swept into the sky. Countless herdsn knelt down, pressing their foreheads to the ground, praying reverently.
The entire grassland was like a massive altar.
Shan Xinglan’s eyes were icy cold at the edge of the grassland, pressing on his longsword, watching the massive phenonon like the wrath of a Heavenly God. His battle armor clinked with a nacing sound, his cloak danced, and his fingers turned white from gripping.
On the sacred mountain that had nurtured the grassland for thousands of years, Mr. Chu’s white hair flew as he stood with his hands behind his back, casually tossing a few pieces of Blood Jade. The Northern Xiongnu King’s pupils contracted slightly, saying:
"These are from the Four Symbols Pavilion..."
Mr. Chu, also the Hall Master of the White Tiger Hall, smiled and said:
"They are Blood Jade made by the Four Symbols Pavilion, collected from people fitting the Heavenly Secrets calculations."
"You need not worry. The agreent is with , regardless of the Four Symbols Pavilion or White Tiger Hall. My agreent still counts. I will allow the Northern Frontier to graze horses in the Central Plains. Five hundred years ago, the nations of the Central Plains rejected our goodwill. This ti, it’s just a change."
The Northern Xiongnu King was moved, calming the imnse emotions within, saying:
"Are you truly serious?!"
The Blood Jade shattered, the Heaven and Earth’s phenonon grew larger. Mr. Chu looked at the gathering storm clouds, at the complex Heavenly Secret Formation gradually forming in the sky, at the faint human shape behind it, and said softly:
"Of course, it’s true."
"After all, back then, our na in the Central Plains was not the Star Palace as recorded in later texts."
He smiled slightly, saying a word that stirred the three beside him.
"But Heaven Palace."
PS: Here’s the second update of today...
Ah~ The true purpose behind the Four Symbols Pavilion collecting Blood Jade, the White Tiger Hall fanning the flas everywhere, and why the Dongfang Clan always guards the now-abandoned remnants of the Star Palace. Also, the phrase ’dao marker’ ntioned by Dongfang Hexuan, and why the supposedly cowardly Wang Tiance, according to Li Wu, would risk entering danger with his wife; this Chapter serves as an explanation.
So might feel that it turned into fantasy, but I don’t think so... right? I’ve always been laying the groundwork for the Star Palace. As a personal wish, I still hope to see the final feast and story of this Jianghu after reading, thank you.
