In the few seconds when Mu Yunchu looked at the little girl, she heard the village chief standing at the center start to speak.

He was probably speaking in their village’s dialect, and words like drought ritual and offering could be vaguely heard.

A fla of anger began to rise in her chest, and her cold and clear voice stood out sharply amidst the noise.

"Are you using living people for sacrifice?"

After she uttered these words, everyone, including the village chief, instinctively looked in her direction.

So people knew her identity, while others had never seen her before.

Yet, both groups revealed the sa astonishnt and greed in their eyes.

Once again, it was that sa gaze as if looking at an object.

Seeing soone interrupting the ritual, the village chief squinted his eyes in displeasure.

But because he saw it was Mu Yunchu, he didn’t imdiately order the villagers to take action.

"Rest assured, your fate won’t be much better than theirs."

"Once a woman enters our village, none can leave alive."

Either they obediently stay to have children, or they are thrown down the mountain as offerings every year.

After all, only this way can ensure Tianbao Village remains safe year after year.

After saying these words, the village chief stared unblinkingly at Mu Yunchu’s face, anticipating a frightened expression on that celestial-like visage of hers.

But he was destined to be disappointed.

Mu Yunchu’s deanor beca even colder than before, not a trace of fear in her eyes.

This significantly lessened his sense of achievent.

However, he knew this was not the ti to dwell on this; taking care of business was the priority.

"Ignore her, just two won, they can’t cause any trouble."

"Hurry up and throw the offerings down, or the Mountain God will be anxious."

However, at this mont, Li Shang suddenly moved.

Like a phantom, she effortlessly weaved through the crowd and arrived before the group carrying the so-called ’offerings.’

The village chief reacted the fastest, raising his arm to point at her upon seeing this scene.

"Quick, grab her!"

"Don’t let her touch those offerings!"

Li Shang curled her lips into a smile. Facing the man still in shock at the front, she didn’t hesitate for a second and directly kicked him down.

"Down you go!"

"Ah~~~"

His scream grew fainter and fainter.

But within seconds, with a ’thud’ of a heavy object hitting the ground, the scream abruptly stopped, leaving his fate uncertain.

These villagers were extrely protective of their own and were united against outsiders.

At this mont, they all stood up, slowly approaching Mu Yunchu and her companion.

Shouting words about making them ’pay the price.’

But Li Shang’s actions were too fast; before anyone realized, she’d taken care of most of the procession.

Several girls were saved by her and scattered off in escape.

The scene beca uncontrollable in an instant.

This made the village chief anxious to the point of panic. He hadn’t expected this seemingly delicate woman to also be a martial artist.

He continued commanding the interception of the ’offerings’ from escaping, while his brain raced to figure out how to deal with Li Shang.

Out of the corner of his eye, he suddenly noticed Mu Yunchu, who hadn’t moved much.

A plan imdiately ca to mind.

"Grab her! Quick!"

"Tian Rui! Quickly grab that woman for !"

As long as they captured Mu Yunchu, they could use her to threaten Li Shang. No matter how skilled the latter was, she would have no choice but to give up.

This command seed to finally awaken Cai Tianrui.

Seeing Mu Yunchu less than two ters from him, he rubbed his hands excitedly.

"Heh heh heh, I’m afraid I must apologize."

"But don’t worry, I’ll ask my father to marry you into our family. Life serving us father and son will be better than the others’. "

As he finished speaking, he gradually closed in on Mu Yunchu.

Mu Yunchu didn’t spare him a glance and only furrowed her brows toward Li Shang’s direction.

He thought Mu Yunchu was scared.

Never expecting that she hadn’t taken him seriously at all.

Just as his hand was about to touch Mu Yunchu’s shoulder, she suddenly moved.

She stuck a piece of talisman paper on Cai Tianrui’s forehead.

His body froze, and he fell straight down.

Though he was unconscious much like Wen Xu, the sensation seed different.

Upon hearing the thud, Mu Yunchu barely spared him a glance but imdiately turned back to shout at Li Shang: "Co back a bit, sothing is coming up!"

Having seen his son fall, the village chief nearly saw red, but hearing the commotion, he imdiately forgot what he was doing and looked at the broken-off section of the mountain in shock.

Lights danced in his eyes with realization that made him nearly kneel in excitent.

The earth beneath started shaking, and gradually, large cracks appeared on the once smooth ground.

So didn’t dodge in ti and fell straight in.

Reminded by Mu Yunchu, Li Shang intended to finish off the person in front and return but suddenly felt a mighty suction force.

She stood in place, unable to move.

Watching Mu Yunchu run towards her, she blinked.

The next second, her body uncontrollably leaned backward.

The scene before her gradually turned to sky.

Li Shang could feel herself falling.

Yet, the sense of weightlessness didn’t last long, the cliff was shorter than she had expected.

But coming next was a strong impact from behind.

"Ouch!"

Mu Yunchu had just reached the boundary when a sudden surge of ominous chill filled the air before her, black mist swirling around.

This scene... clearly indicated so malevolent entity was about to erge.

However, all the villagers behind her knelt down in unison, loudly chanting:

"The Mountain God has revealed himself, the Mountain God has revealed himself!"

"Great Mountain God, please te out punishnt on these ritual disruptors!"

...

Mountain God?

Mu Yunchu turned her gaze back, squinting her eyes slightly.

A sowhat tall silhouette slowly erged from within, exuding a powerful aura of malevolence.

Muscles taut and veins bulging like withered tree roots coiled around it.

The skin a bizarre bluish-purple, cracked like drought-hardened earth, each fissure devoid of life.

Upon witnessing this ’monster,’ Mu Yunchu paused montarily.

Her mind swiftly searched through the books she had read, matching it against the appearance before her.

A hypothesis ford in her mind.

It stepped forward and roared at the sky, the sound like it ca from the Nine Netherworld Hell, shaking the mountains on either side, rocks tumbling down, dust filling the air.

Mu Yunchu knew, if it continued shouting, it would lead to troubleso consequences.

Concerned about Li Shang below, she sohow had several Yellow Talismans in her hand.

She tossed them into the air, and the Yellow Talismans self-ignited, transforming into a flock of golden birds, chirping as they flew toward the monster, trying to disrupt its actions.

Then she took a leap and jumped down.

The monster that had been attacking indiscriminately imdiately locked onto Mu Yunchu’s figure.

Paused for a few seconds, then followed her down.
