The next day, before Mu Yunchu had a chance to look for the old housekeeper, he sent over a text ssage early in the morning.

The ssage roughly said that he was assigned other tasks by Pei Jun and might not be able to continue helping her find the remaining feng shui issues in the Pei Family.

This did not surprise her.

After breakfast, the old housekeeper, after waiting for both Pei Jun and Pei Hongli to leave the table, specifically ca to tell Mu Yunchu again.

"Miss Mu, from now on, you can move freely in the Pei Family. I have already inford the servants, and they will follow your orders."

Mu Yunchu smiled and nodded at him politely.

"Okay."

Who would have thought that after he left, Pei Jingxiao at the table was so shocked that he spat out half of a bun.

"What’s going on? I’ve been in the Pei Family for so many years and never got this treatnt, and you’ve only been here two days..."

His tone was of shock, coupled with curiosity, wanting to know how Mu Yunchu managed it. He knew his second and third uncles very well, yet she easily gained their trust, which left him puzzled.

There was also a hint of unnoticeable jealousy.

He thought, why couldn’t he receive such treatnt?

Thinking of this, Pei Jingxiao naturally thought of the ’competition’ between him and Wen Xu.

If he could win this heir competition, surely he could receive similar treatnt!

He shoved the unfinished bun into his mouth in one go and quickly stood up.

No way, he needed to go back to learning more about managing the company. He had fallen behind before, and he absolutely couldn’t lose to Wen Xu in the subsequent tests.

As he left, he shot a fierce glare at Wen Xu across the table.

Mu Yunchu took another sip of the sweet soup, which was specially prepared by the Pei Family’s hired chef starting at three or four in the morning.

This alone showed that the Pei Family didn’t care much about the cost, as long as the task t their satisfaction.

Recovering her senses and noticing Wen Xu’s gaze, she spoke first: "Want to ask sothing?"

She thought he would be like Pei Jingxiao, curious about how she managed to get permission to move around the Pei Family.

But Wen Xu shook his head slightly, his gaze still on Mu Yunchu.

"No, just wanted to look at you."

Not expecting him to say such a thing, Mu Yunchu turned her head in surprise, eting his earnest gaze.

His clear eyes revealed his emotions transparently.

Mu Yunchu paused briefly, then suddenly understood, "Look at ?"

"Or do you want to see if I win this competition?"

Wen Xu ca back to his senses.

He recalled that when Pei Jun announced the matter, Mu Yunchu hadn’t arrived at the house yet. But considering her intelligence, it wasn’t surprising she deduced this from Pei Jun’s odd behavior towards him and Pei Jingxiao over the past two days.

"No." Wen Xu looked at Mu Yunchu with a aningful glance, then finally shifted his slightly intense gaze away.

Mu Yunchu also didn’t pursue the question further.

The two of them smoothly changed the subject.

"But is there sothing you’re looking for in this house that I can help with?"

After a mont of silence, Wen Xu spoke first.

Mu Yunchu didn’t refuse imdiately but thought it over.

She felt that with her relationship with Wen Xu, there was no need for pleasantries.

But after thinking seriously, she still shook her head, "You don’t know much about this house either, so I’m afraid you can’t help ."

Yesterday, with the old housekeeper and servants, she went to many places, not only checking feng shui but also helping King Yan find sothing he couldn’t pinpoint the exact location of.

Unfortunately, they found nothing.

She also tried using Heavenly chanism to calculate the location, but saw nothing.

She estimated that in another two days, she could have visited the entire Pei Family estate.

But she already had a vague premonition that the outco would likely not be good.

Even so, she needed to continue doing what she was supposed to do.

So after finishing her al, she continued her feng shui inspection around the Pei Family estate.

Although the old housekeeper said she could move freely, Mu Yunchu knew that every pair of eyes in the house was monitoring her.

The appearance of given freedom partly was also to observe if she’d slip up.

So rather than that, she decided to be proactive. She’d find a ’watcher’ to bring along with her.

"I rember your na is Xiao Yun."

Upon entering the servants’ lounge, she imdiately saw Xiao Yun sitting in a corner.

Who was the one who recorded her words yesterday and got caught by Mu Yunchu.

But she didn’t go straight to her; instead, she stated her purpose at the doorway.

"The housekeeper asked to find a helper here."

Mu Yunchu’s words were concise.

But everyone understood what it ant.

Because most people here had been following Mu Yunchu around and working hard all day yesterday.

Recalling the ordeal of yesterday, they felt a shadow looming on seeing Mu Yunchu again.

This wasn’t like the regular job where one could slack off. With the old housekeeper watching, there was no chance of slacking at all.

It was genuinely non-stop work!

They thought the nightmare ended last night, but now hearing Mu Yunchu again... if she weren’t the housekeeper’s guest, they might have directly ignored her.

"Only one person?"

The elder-looking maid at the front keenly caught the implication in Mu Yunchu’s words.

"You only need one person?"

Mu Yunchu nodded.

"I don’t want to delay your work too much."

After all, like yesterday, she took the entire household of servants. No need to do anything else.

Though this ti she only needed one person, the expressions of the servants beca even more resigned seeing Mu Yunchu nod.

They nearly died from exhaustion with so many people yesterday.

If only one person today, they’d be done for!

So everyone started finding excuses.

"Miss Mu, I truly want to help, but I have so urgent work... maybe you can see if soone else is available."

"Yes, yes, too, I have to help the Third Madam Pei with the offerings, I really can’t get away."

"I’ve been assigned so tasks by the housekeeper..."

Looking around, everyone chid in about how busy they were.

Basically aning they had no ti to help Mu Yunchu and suggested she find soone else.

Finally, all eyes turned to Xiao Yun, who had remained silent from the start.

The others quickly shifted this burdenso task onto her shoulders.

"Xiao Yun, you seem free, right?"

"Why don’t you accompany Miss Mu?"
