Wen Xu had long known that he could face death at any ti and place, so when Mu Yunchu said these words, he wasn’t overly surprised.

One might even say that this was the path he chose for himself.

But for so reason, he unknowingly drove to her shop this morning, leading to the series of events that followed.

Now, looking at her clear lake-like eyes gazing at him and saying such words, he felt a ripple in his heart. His Adam’s apple rolled as he was about to say sothing, but the water ghost, which had been unmoving on the ground, suddenly stirred.

It slowly shed two streams of blood-tears, its mouth stretching wider and wider until its entire body shattered.

"I said, he will die today!"

Almost at the sa ti, Wen Xu’s pupils suddenly dilated, and his body beca so rigid it seed fixed in place, as if he had fallen into a prolonged Illusion Technique.

Mu Yunchu also realized that the situation was not that simple. She quickly stepped forward and was so surprised at Wen Xu’s current state that she couldn’t speak for a mont.

The water ghost beside them had already dissolved into a puddle of black, unknown liquid, soaking the tiles, with a few strands of black-green water weeds on it.

Soone had actually gone to the extent of sacrificing their lifespan to do such a thing.

She looked again at Wen Xu, who seed to have turned into a puppet, knowing that he must now be trapped in so Illusion Realm.

This Illusion Realm was created at the cost of the water ghost and the mastermind’s lifespan behind it. Even Mu Yunchu was not sure if she could unravel it with her current ability.

But if it wasn’t unraveled... Wen Xu might never wake up again.

Mu Yunchu only hesitated for a mont before understanding; she couldn’t just stand by and do nothing.

She had to try sothing.

A wisp of wind brushed past the strands of hair beside her cheek. Mu Yunchu’s eyes sharpened infinitely as she slowly raised her hand.

...

Wen Xu forgot his na and even his identity. He just watched these people in ancient robes constantly walking back and forth, feeling an indescribable emotion in his heart.

Unable to resist, he asked, "What are you... doing?"

In an instant, the dozen or so people who were busy seed to have been paused by a remote control, stopping all their actions and steps in unison and turning their heads to look at him.

The closest one to him was an elderly woman holding sothing like a tray covered with cloth.

"Young master, what are you saying, could it be that you’re so happy you’ve forgotten yourself?"

It wasn’t her later words that intrigued Wen Xu as much as the way she addressed him.

"Young master?"

"Yes." The elderly woman deepened her smile, looking at Wen Xu kindly, without any particular action, just answering his questions. "Today is your wedding day, such a joyous occasion."

"Quickly, let’s change into the groom’s red wedding attire, don’t keep the bride and the Master and Madam waiting too long."

Wen Xu felt his brain had turned to wood.

He felt this all seed sowhat unreal.

Especially the fact that he was supposed to be getting married.

How co he had no impression of it?

Maybe because he still stood there unresponsive, the elderly woman smiled and looked at two young servants next to her, and soone ca to assist him in changing clothes back in his room.

And everyone else resud their busy activities once again.

Wen Xu was thus muddled into new attire, until he was pushed into the wedding hall and saw a middle-aged man and woman smiling at the door. Only then did he slowly accept the situation.

The woman’s voice was gentle as water, gradually soothing the last bits of tension in Wen Xu’s heart. "Ah Xu, from this day forth, you have to take good care of your bride."

The man beside her also smiled with relief, patting the woman’s hand across the large table between them, "Look at you, so happy you’ve shed tears. Today is indeed a good day."

Wen Xu fully imrsed himself in the role, comforting the ’parents’ in front of him not to worry about letting him go.

He promised to visit often in the future.

But while saying these words, there was an inexplicable sense of oddity.

However, he had no chance to think further, soon, the wedding ceremony entered the next step.

What Wen Xu didn’t expect was for soone to put a red bridal veil over his head.

When vision vanished briefly, hearing was magnified several tis, and the guests’ conversations around him grew clearer, every word reaching his ears.

"Oh, the young master is truly fortunate, marrying Miss Li from the Li Family, from now on, our household has truly co into prominence!"

"Indeed, Miss Li’s father is favored by the current Emperor; from now on, no one will dare look down on our household."

"Wonderful, wonderful indeed..."

"Plus, I’ve heard that Miss Li is as beautiful as a goddess..."

...

The miscellaneous chatter gradually faded, replaced by the thunderous sound of firecrackers and suona.

The bride entered.

Instinctively, Wen Xu didn’t want to follow the best man’s calls for the ceremony, yet his body seed entirely out of control.

"Bow to the Heaven and Earth..."

"Bow to the parents..."

...

"Enter the bridal chamber..."

...

In the midst of loud calls, Wen Xu was thus led, with the red bridal veil covering his head, into the new house.

Suddenly, the surroundings fell silent.

He could feel that besides himself, there was another person in the room.

Listening to the breathing of the other, he inexplicably grew tense, and a na unexpectedly appeared in his mind.

However, that na, upon the other person lifting his veil and clearly seeing the other’s face, completely rged with the person before him.

"Mu Yunchu..."

He called out softly, looking at the woman in wedding attire before him, her face aligning with his mories. Gradually, he fully confird that this was his life.

"My bride..."

Mu Yunchu: "..."

She looked at Wen Xu, who, though completely in different attire, still showed nothing of half his usual appearance, with a sowhat heavy expression.

The current situation seed more grave than she had imagined.

Upon following in, she never anticipated that the water ghost would create a wedding Illusion Realm for Wen Xu.

In this Illusion Realm, Mu Yunchu was an ’outsider,’ and anything she did would be noticed by others; only by finding an identity for herself could she minimize the risk of being attacked by everyone.

Yet prior to this, she hadn’t thought that Wen Xu wasn’t conscious here.

This would make it much harder for her to take him outside.

Watching the man before her step by step to the round table, picking up the wine cups and preparing to share wedding wine with her, Mu Yunchu astonishingly felt no sense of disconnection.

For a mont, she even wondered, was this Illusion Realm deliberately created by the water ghost, or was it sheer coincidence?
