Although she promised Chen ng, Mu Yunchu still needed to bring so things.

She rummaged through the storeroom for a long ti before finally finding her target—the ancient coins her master had collected over the years.

She had long seen her master cradling this wooden box as if it were a treasure.

She wasn’t even allowed to touch it.

Now seeing this box half full of ancient coins, she shook her head slightly.

Li Shang didn’t know when he had sneaked up behind her, craning his neck curiously at the items in her arms.

"Copper coins?"

This stuff was not unfamiliar to her.

Maybe among them were coins from her era.

"Can you still use this kind of money in your era?"

Li Shang was puzzled.

If she rembered correctly, it seed like modern people had switched to other ans of paynt.

Mu Yunchu shook her head.

"Not for spending."

"But to make a magic artifact out of it."

Li Shang looked a bit bewildered.

This touched upon a gap in her knowledge.

"As ancient circulating currency, these coins have been handled by countless people and naturally carry a positive energy. There’s a long-standing folk belief in using ancient coins to ward off evil."

According to history, by hanging copper cash of different sizes with a red thread around the neck, the power of the copper coins, having passed through countless hands, can fend off evil spirits.

Mu Yunchu took one coin and held it, "Ancient coins in our nation were designed with ’Heaven round and Earth square’ concept, ticulously crafted according to "The Book of Changes" and incorporating the principles of Yin-Yang and the Five Elents. By tying five such coins together, they can form an exorcism spiritual artifact known as the Five Emperors Coin."

Li Shang nodded, sowhat understandingly.

She glanced and saw a flash of red in the box, didn’t think much, and picked up the only strung copper coin.

It didn’t cause any discomfort.

"Is this how it’s done?"

"Why doesn’t it have any effect?"

She looked puzzled at Li Shang’s expression.

Mu Yunchu: "..."

Perhaps it’s because it was made by her master.

Without speaking, Mu Yunchu picked out Qin Banliang, Wu Zhu Coin, Kaiyuan Tongbao, Song Yuan Tongbao, and Yongle Tongbao from the box and put them in her hand.

At the sa ti, she found a horizontal thread and strung the five coins in order.

From Li Shang’s perspective, the knot Mu Yunchu tied seed no different from hers. Yet, at the mont the red thread was tied, she seed to see the coins shimr faintly with a layer of gold light.

However, it was fleeting, making her doubt if she had seen it incorrectly.

What she didn’t know was.

That golden glow was a sign of the formation of a standard spiritual artifact.

"It’s done."

"This is the Five Emperors Coin."

Mu Yunchu was very satisfied with her result.

She could feel how strong this energy was.

The set of large Five Emperors Coins made would fetch at least tens of thousands in the market.

And they were priceless.

Because, for so reasons, the coins needed to make the large Five Emperors Coin were almost no longer in circulation.

Plus, they had been consecrated.

Their value was simply indescribable.

Before she could react, Li Shang instinctually wanted to take a look, but as soon as her fingers touched the Five Emperors Coin, she felt an intense burning sensation.

She gasped in shock.

"Why does it hurt so much?"

She held up her hand, apprehensive, and looked at the so-called Five Emperors Coin, not daring to take any more rash actions.

Clearly similar objects, why was the effect worlds apart?

Seeing Mu Yunchu put the box away and carefully tuck the Five Emperors Coin into her pocket, she recalled another matter—packing her bag.

But Mu Yunchu wasn’t planning to take her, "You stay and guard the house."

Li Shang’s big, watery eyes instantly drooped.

Helpless, Mu Yunchu assigned her a task.

"You need to help watch what those workers are up to?"

Following her gaze, the two looked at the already working renovation workers.

They seed very serious, but Mu Yunchu noticed that they seed to be searching for sothing in her house rather than renovating.

Li Shang: "You suspect they’re up to no good?"

"Yes."

"Then why use them?" Li Shang expressed confusion.

"To lure them into a trap."

Ever since she got the store, and that threatening interdiary, she sensed that the group behind it seed to have a compelling reason to acquire this land.

So, even with suspicion of ulterior motives, Mu Yunchu still used them.

She even suspected that what they were after might be related to what her master left in the bank safe.

Li Shang ultimately agreed to stay, though in a sowhat unhappy mood, knowing she had a more important mission.

...

Chen ng’s location was in the neighboring city, called Shangyan City. Although it’s next door, it’s neither too far nor too close.

Thankfully, Mu Yunchu’s place was already on the edge, so driving over only took a little over two hours.

Fearing neglect, Chen ng specially rented a return car, which wasn’t too expensive for the two of them together.

By the ti they arrived, the sun was almost setting.

They went straight to the bottom of her friend’s apartnt building.

Before they got upstairs, they heard a rustling sound of footsteps behind them.

Chen ng turned around and saw her friend’s parents walking towards them with worried expressions.

And on the back of one was her friend, unconscious.

"Tiantian!"

Chen ng blurted out, running up towards them.

But after calling for a long ti, her friend showed no response.

As if she had fainted dead away.

"Auntie, did Tiantian run off and disappear again?"

She looked anxiously to the side, where Mrs. Duan’s eyes were red, looking about to cry.

"Xiao ng, let’s talk after we get upstairs, okay?"

Due to the chaotic situation, Chen ng didn’t even have ti to introduce Mu Yunchu to everyone.

Not until they were upstairs and had settled Duan Tiantian on the bed did Chen ng reveal the reason for Mu Yunchu’s visit.

"Uncle, Auntie, you have to trust , she really is a very skilled master."

"This...," Mr. and Mrs. Duan exchanged glances, their eyes filled with hesitation.

How could they believe soone who looked about their daughter’s age could exorcise evil spirits!

Eventually, with Chen ng’s repeated assurances and persuasion to treat a dead horse as if it were alive, they agreed.

After all, giving it a try couldn’t make things worse, right?

"Ah...," Mrs. Duan sighed, "I don’t know what misdeeds my husband and I have committed to cause such a thing."

"Young lady, can you really cure my daughter?"

Mu Yunchu didn’t nod imdiately but said, "I need to take a look at her first."

The group moved into the room, and Mu Yunchu’s gaze slowly wandered over the girl lying on the bed, saying nothing.

But her expression gradually beca more solemn.

Especially with Chen ng, who’d been secretly observing her expression and was so tense she nearly forgot to breathe.

Mu Yunchu hadn’t spoken yet when, in the next second, the girl who couldn’t be awakened slowly opened her eyes.
