Shen Xun refused to leave the police station after finishing his task.

He had waited for half a day, and now he finally managed to et Mu Yunchu.

After all, he had asked many people at the station, but no one was willing to give him the other party’s contact information, so he couldn’t pass up this rare opportunity.

"Hello, Miss Mu."

Shen Xun eagerly walked over, and as he got closer, he found that Mu Yunchu’s appearance was even more stunning.

He couldn’t help but take a sharp breath and completely ignored Mu Yunchu’s not-so-gentle gaze.

Being suddenly stopped, Mu Yunchu lifted her eyelids to look at this ’unexpected guest’.

"My na is Shen Xun, Shen as in Shen’s family."

He knew that most people nowadays are realistic, so when introducing himself, he specifically emphasized his family background.

Shen Xun believed that an excellent family background already ant he was more than halfway successful in pursuing a girl.

As he spoke, he worried that the other party might not believe him, so he took out a business card from his inner pocket and smiled aningfully: "I don’t give my business card out easily, you know."

"Of course, if you have a business card, you could give it to too."

Although he didn’t think soone like Mu Yunchu would have one. He was rely being polite.

Since she could appear at a police station, she must be a police officer, or soone related to them.

Wealthy families wouldn’t let their children do such dangerous things. Even He Jiarong only works in a relatively safer public security departnt, and she usually doesn’t leave her office.

So he was convinced that Mu Yunchu must be a girl with an ordinary family background.

Thinking of this, Shen Xun didn’t notice that his smile had deepened significantly.

Mu Yunchu’s gaze moved from the business card in his hand back to this sowhat inexplicable man.

Seeing her delay, Shen Xun extended his hand further.

Wen Xu, who was craning his neck to look, was suddenly startled by He Jiarong calling his na. He withdrew his gaze and glanced in her direction, and when he looked back, the business card was already gone.

Did she take it?

He couldn’t help but wonder.

Looking again at Shen Xun’s still not very likable smile, for so reason, it now seed even more distasteful.

He Jiarong was still talking to him, but as Wen Xu listened, the sentences seed intermittent and hard to catch.

It wasn’t until Mu Yunchu disappeared at the end of the corridor that his thoughts finally returned.

He Jiarong’s voice gradually beca clear.

"Forensic Expert Wen, you know a lot. Can you take a look at my hand and see if it will scar?"

"I’m not sure if Sister Wang’s ergency band-aid was useful, or if it might cause an infection or sothing?"

"Do you have ti now? If not, could you help reapply so dicine?"

...

He Jiarong held up her hand to show Wen Xu her wound. Her mind was already imagining a lot of ambiguous scenarios.

Wen Xu looked at the wound and said, "You’re too late."

"Huh?" He Jiarong’s infatuated smile froze on her face.

"Too late?"

"It’s already healed."

He Jiarong: "..."

...

She looked down and examined it carefully for a while, realizing that the blood stains were indeed from last night. The cut inside had long scabbed over.

Still not resigned, she tried to find so other reason to hang around Wen Xu. But when she looked up, there was no sign of Wen Xu.

Failing to realize her imagined scene of Wen Xu delicately applying dicine to her hand, the unwilling He Jiarong felt both disappointed and angry, stomping her foot several tis.

After temporarily dispatching Shen Xun, Mu Yunchu arrived at the room next to where Liu Cheng was being held.

From the one-way mirror in this room, she could clearly see everything that was happening in the other room.

When she first t Zhou Zhicheng, she had seen this scene through a phone video; now, it was her first ti entering the room in person.

Liu Cheng looked quite unremarkable, in his forties, his entire body shabby and could easily be described as unkempt. His eyes, with very little black in the irises, carried a fierce look when glancing around. Even when walking on the street, he was the type others would subconsciously avoid.

Zhou Zhicheng waited impatiently as Mu Yunchu took her ti to think things over. Finally unable to wait, he asked, "How is it? Do you see anything?"

He felt his heart pounding. Afraid that Mu Yunchu might say he’s not the culprit.

Otherwise, their efforts that night would have been in vain.

Fortunately, after a mont, Mu Yunchu softly said, "It seems right."

Zhou Zhicheng let out a heavy sigh of relief.

"As long as it’s right."

If that’s right, their next step would be to fully study how to gather evidence to put him behind bars.

"Can you figure out where he currently lives?"

Zhou Zhicheng’s tone carried an air of urgency.

A large part was due to his eagerness to solve the case quickly, but there was also a small part due to his curiosity.

Mu Yunchu said, "I can."

"But before that, I’d like to have a couple of words with him."

Zhou Zhicheng placed the microphone connected to the other room’s speaker in front of Mu Yunchu.

The latter, however, pushed it aside.

"I want to speak to him face to face."

"This..." Zhou Zhicheng hesitated. "This guy uses foul language."

He struggled for a while before he managed to tactfully say that. Anyway, he wasn’t keen on letting Mu Yunchu talk to a person like him face to face.

"It’s fine."

There are so things that can’t be conveyed even through the clearest one-way mirror; she needed to confirm in person.

"Alright." Seeing Mu Yunchu insist, Zhou Zhicheng didn’t try to dissuade her further.

He couldn’t stop her anyway.

Thinking that Liu Cheng was tied up and couldn’t harm Mu Yunchu.

However, recalling the experience of his female officer in the team who had gone in not long ago, he still advised Mu Yunchu to be psychologically prepared, "Make sure not to get angry because of such a person."

The sound of the door opening made Liu Cheng open his eyes. Upon seeing Zhou Zhicheng, he was about to close them again when his peripheral vision caught sight of Mu Yunchu behind him.

He imdiately let out an extrely loud whistle.

It inexplicably felt disrespectful.

Along with his lewd gaze that blatantly ogled others, it made those entering feel very uncomfortable.

Not to ntion, he was about to speak.

"So the police station has such pretty ladies. Bring them out earlier; they’re so fresh-looking. If one would give a kiss, I would’ve confessed to everything already."

"Who wants to talk to stinky old n like you? Just looking at you makes not want to talk."

"Sigh... so beautiful, and such a great figure, if I could... hehe..."

It might have been less disgusting if he said it all outright, but his half-said, half-withheld words just made people feel nauseated.

The female officer responsible for interrogation and taking notes before had endured his filthy lewd talk for half an hour and ended up leaving the room in tears.
