[Vol. 5] Chapter 275: Then, Ah Zhen Fell in Love with Ah Qiang
“When investigating the spatial disturbance, Loknisa didn’t co away completely empty-handed. Near one of the suspected origins of the disturbance, she found sothing.”
“It was a broken blade.”
“Using her sharp intuition as the Judgnt Saintess, Loknisa sensed a faint aura of a foreign invader on it. It was a demon, the ancient enemies of the Holy Empire. She suspected that these abnormal disturbances might be their doing, so she took the blade back to the eastern capital for a thorough investigation.”
“The broken blade was unique. According to expert evaluation, it might have been part of a powerful weapon, damaged by so external force into its current form.”
“Loknisa believed this blade might be the key to tracking down the culprit behind the disturbance. Since acquiring it, she had been studying it ticulously, trying various thods to restore it, though with no success.”
“A broken blade is called ‘broken’ because, naturally, it’s missing its other half.”
“Moreover, Loknisa noticed that the aura lingering on the blade was unusual. Both the craftsmanship and structure were completely different from any known nation or civilization. It was highly likely to be a weapon from another world.”
“However, that was about the extent of it. In the end, this discovery couldn’t be considered a breakthrough.”
“If no other external forces interfered, she might never find the true owner of the broken blade in her lifeti, nor would she uncover the hidden secrets behind the spatial disturbance.”
“Yet fate had a small twist in store for Loknisa, one that would alter her future.”
At this point, Frederica paused briefly, only to see that Miss White Fox still sat quietly by her side, motionless, almost as if she had fallen asleep, yet maintaining a posture of attentive listening. Seeing this, Frederica decided to waste no ti and continued her story.
“In the year 1003 of the New Calendar, three years after the initial spatial disturbance, a large-scale demon-summoning event occurred in the lawless region. In response to a neighboring nation’s request for aid, the Holy Empire dispatched a punitive force led by Loknisa Cecilia, the Judgnt Saintess, to eradicate the local demon forces causing chaos.”
“Demons were old foes of the Holy Empire, and both sides were familiar with each other. Compared to previous demon wars, this was minor for the Three Saintesses. Despite so obstacles, Loknisa eventually led her Knight Templars into the demons’ lair.”
“There, the source of the chaos awaited: a powerful plague demon directly under the command of the [Defilent]. Killing or banishing it would put an end to the demon uprising at its root.”
“Loknisa was prepared for a difficult battle. However, what she didn’t expect was that when she and her elite forces broke through the gates and entered the disease-ridden heart of the temple…”
“The powerful plague demon had already been killed, lying dead in the center of the hall.”
“She was utterly shocked and puzzled. Due to the poor handling of the situation by the local authorities, the demon had absorbed a vast amount of emotion from the living, growing to a fearso level. Even Loknisa, at the height of her power, had confidence in defeating it only because she wielded the sacred [Judgnt Holy Sword].”
“This powerful being was beyond the reach of most in the world, save for a few mythical entities who rarely interfered in mortal matters. Given the demon’s tenacity, Loknisa had considered banishing it if killing it proved too difficult.”
“Everyone present was astounded, with so suspecting that this might be a ruse by the enemy to feign death and escape.”
“But, just at that mont, the broken sword that Loknisa had accidentally obtained three years ago, which had been lying dormant like a dead thing, underwent an unprecedented change. It was as if it had sensed its long-lost other half, and it emitted a faint energy fluctuation filled with longing.”
“Though the reaction was subtle, Loknisa, who had kept the blade close and monitored it, noticed it imdiately. Only then did she realize that the room was shrouded in an aura that, while similar to that of a demon, was not entirely the sa… and felt eerily familiar.”
“She suddenly realized that the chance to clear her forr sha and perhaps unravel the mystery from three years prior had co to her once again.”
“Impulsively, she rushed out, not even taking the ti to fully explain to the others.”
“Following the broken blade’s signal and relying on her unique abilities as the Judgnt Saintess, she finally located her target several kiloters outside the city in a nearby area.”
“There, she found a strange group of three n and two won of various races, with the blade’s response and the demon-like aura clearly pointing to a young man who seed to be their leader.”
“…?”
Miss White Fox was growing increasingly uneasy as she listened, finally interrupting the Saintess mid-story.
“Wait! This young man you’re talking about… could he be called Minchen?”
“…What? Eh?”
Though she didn’t imdiately confirm or deny it, the look of astonishnt on the current Judgnt Saintess’ face made Violet feel confident in her guess.
As expected, after a mont of surprise, Frederica’s expression turned to one of understanding.
“Miss Dawn, you’ve heard that na? Ah… could it be that you also crossed paths with Minchen?”
“…I suppose, for those with the long lifespans of the transcendents or immortals, three centuries is hardly a distant past.”
Before the white fox could respond, the Saintess seed curious.
“Speaking of which, Miss Dawn, what era do you co from? I’ve combed through nurous records, yet found no trace of soone nad [Dawn] in history.”
“By the way! I’ve heard that so exceptionally long-lived races, like dragons, pass the ti by sleeping for millennia out of sheer boredom. Could it be that you…?”
“Ahem!!”
Miss White Fox hurriedly interrupted, putting a stop to the Saintess’s increasingly wild speculations and swiftly changed the topic.
“Enough with that! I’m not so ancient monster who’s lived for thousands of years… Anyway, that’s not important. What happened after your ancestor t Minchen?”
However, Frederica simply shrugged nonchalantly.
“Then they fell in love.”
“???”
The Saintess looked resigned.
“Don’t look at like that. This is just the story I heard…”
Seeing that Miss White Fox seed too shocked or speechless to respond, the golden-haired girl decided to continue explaining to ease the awkwardness.
“Although much of the story was skipped over and I don’t know the details, the result is that my ancestor Loknisa, after a series of twists and turns, fell in love with Minchen. She took advantage of certain missions to travel with him and his companions around the world several tis.”
“Later, with Minchen and his friends’ help, she even managed to break through to the transcendent realm and eventually had a child with him.”
“Of course, all of this, including my ancestor Loknisa’s power, was kept a secret. After all, Transcendent and Legendary levels are worlds apart. Once such information is revealed, the impact would be too great.”
“During this ti, Loknisa and Minchen also collaborated with their companions to develop a dicine to counteract and heal the effects of the [Defilent], considering the terrible disaster that plague demon had caused, which everyone had witnessed firsthand.”
“And so, over a decade passed by.”
