“Well, let think about it.”

Violet pondered for a mont.

They were now only about a dozen kiloters away from the slowly moving floating island. With the speed of everyone, at least at the legendary level, they could probably reach it in just over a minute in the air.

And including Sigrid and several other priests, they had all co for the Abyssal Worm, albeit with different intentions—one side simply wanted to eliminate them, while the other wanted to take sothing from those creatures.

But to be honest, Violet hadn’t expected the so-called “Magic Island” to look like this. Honestly, her interest in this mysterious island had greatly surpassed that of those boring insects.

Since it had been determined that the Abyssal Worms cultivated Abyssal Beasts using the power fragnts of the Goddess of Earth, it was highly probable that the similarly Abyssal Magic Island, which was possibly doing similar things, or even more efficiently, also had similar connections.

Perhaps there were even more powerful and complete deity fragnts hidden inside, or so secrets. It might be worth investigating first. Even if it turned out to be different from what was expected, there would still be ti to deal with those insects.

Anyway, it seed that they were determined to guard this island.

So, Violet shared her plan with everyone and, as expected, received strong opposition from Sigrid.

“No way! We know nothing about that island. Even if you can withstand the death mist, what about the Abyssal Worms guarding the Magic Island? They’re not just one or two!”

Ugh, so annoying... Why does this girl feel more and more like a chatty old lady? It seems that the huge casualties caused by this disaster have burdened her psychologically. Could it be that Sigrid is trying to take all the responsibility upon herself?

Miss Priestess scratched her ears, which had just endured a high-decibel bombardnt, with a helpless expression.

“Well, what do you want then? Don’t forget why we’re here. There’s no choice but to take risks if we want to repel the enemy, right?”

Sigrid’s expression was uncompromising.

“Our mission is to hunt down the Abyssal Worms, not to explore the Magic Island. This matter should be discussed by Her Majesty, and then professionals should be dispatched for it.”

“Professionals? Huh... Even if they’re professionals, can they be more reliable than a group of legends? Or are you referring to the Feathered Emperor herself or that mysterious High Priest?”

Miss Priestess pointed around expressionlessly, then tapped her own sowhat barren chest.

“And Sigrid, don’t get it wrong. That’s your mission, not mine. I don’t have to listen to the Feathered Emperor’s orders.”

“Grr...”

Seeming sowhat lacking in confidence, the ponytailed girl gritted her teeth unwillingly. She knew Violet’s personality well. Although she seed easygoing most of the ti, when it ca to disputes, she was extrely firm... even ruthless.

Once this black-haired girl had decided sothing in her heart, it was almost impossible to change it due to external interference.

“Darn it... If you insist on going, then I’ll co too. At least I can provide so support!”

“Oh, sure.”

“Enough! This is my final... huh?”

Just as she was about to finish her sentence, Sigrid suddenly froze, tilting her head with a sowhat silly expression.

She had thought... Violet would strongly oppose others joining her in venturing into such a perilous place. She had even prepared herself to argue vehently with the other party to express her attitude. But unexpectedly, it was settled so easily?

“What’s with that expression... I never said I intended to explore it alone.”

At least the little dragon girl, Leila, and Rene would definitely follow along. Miss Priestess couldn’t just leave them outside without worry.

“So, Sigrid counts as one. What about the rest of you? Are you coming with us?”

Violet’s gaze indicated towards the four Guardians of the Sky Temple. These four legendary White Feathered Winged people, all won, had been silent on the journey and had little interaction with Violet’s group. Occasional contact is also through Sigrid.

It was evident that they weren’t rejecting Violet and the others, but were simply not good at communicating with strangers. Luckily, Miss Priestess also didn’t enjoy such activities, so both sides could enjoy peace and quiet.

Directly accompanying them would be the best scenario, but if they were unwilling, it would save trouble. They could do as they pleased, it wasn’t Violet’s concern.

Speaking of which, she still didn’t know the nas of these winged people. Sigrid had only ntioned that they were guardians of the temple without providing specific introductions.

The priests communicated silently through their eyes. One of them, perhaps the representative, looked to be around twenty-six or twenty-seven, with a mature and charming smile adorned by a faint beauty mark between her eyebrows, expressing her attitude.

“Since Captain Sigrid has spoken, naturally we will act according to her intentions. Miss Violet’s approach may seem reckless, but what she says makes sense. If we can truly understand the situation on the Magic Island, or even bring it down, the benefits will undoubtedly be greater than just killing a few Abyssal Worms.”

Another priestess, her face half hidden by a hood, nodded in agreent.

“If even with our lineup we can’t accomplish it, then anyone else who cos will just be walking to their deaths. Although the High Priestess is incredibly powerful, she simply cannot co here.”

The High Priestess, that divine figure, can’t co here?

A thought stirred in Violet’s mind.

Though it seed like an innocuous remark, it revealed many secrets. Could it be that one of the prices of bearing the protection of the gods is to spend one’s entire life confined to the Sky Temple?

This divine protection...

“Senior Leona?”

Sigrid wasn’t foolish, she could of course see why these older priestesses had made this decision. Besides the reasons they had ntioned, perhaps a crucial factor was that they didn’t trust her.

Referred to as Leona, the only one not wearing her priestess hood, the beautiful, mole-faced elder who had spoken initially just smiled and shook her head without saying anything.

Violet clapped her hands.

“Alright, since we’re all in agreent, let’s start discussing the tactics for the next steps.”

Although she didn’t anticipate encountering any insurmountable crises, the priestess still maintained her usual cautious attitude toward this completely unknown, eerily floating island.

Afterward, through the floating wings of the people in the air, they quickly devised a simple infiltration plan before the beasts surrounding the Magic Island could detect them.

.........

“Master, is it really necessary for us to do this? They’re just a bunch of bugs. If they dare to block our path, I can just slaughter them all easily.”

Floating closer to the Abyssal Magic Island, the golden-haired dragon girl looked at the white-robed girl standing not far in front of her, her expression puzzled.

“Of course, perhaps these abyssal creatures, and the so-called Abyssal Worms, aren’t formidable opponents for you and , but dealing with them in large numbers can be quite troubleso.”

“And we still don’t know what this island is all about. If we stir up trouble, we might let the clues slip away.”

With a smile, Violet glanced down at the dense, almost obscuring fog below and then raised her hand to signal sothing.

“So, let’s begin the infiltration!”
