Chapter 731: Chapter 55: I Did It! I Did It!
“This… is too fast, isn’t it?”
Mina was instantly flustered. In their original expectations, even if the Contract Land decided to take action against Isaiah, it would certainly involve a lengthy tug-of-war.
After all, Isaiah is currently the first person under the gods, a figure in the Star Relic Sect who stands above tens of thousands.
But now it seems that the Prison Director doesn’t care about these things at all, directly disrupting their plans.
“It’s not sothing that surprising,” Isaiah said. “The Prison Director isn’t an ordinary person. I can see his uniqueness. If nothing unexpected happens, he should have survived from the God War era to the present.”
“God War era?” Mina widened her eyes. “Then wouldn’t he have lived for a thousand years? Is that really possible?”
“The Contract Land is a prison created by the gods together, so having a Prison Director who can live eternally with the prison isn’t sothing unexpected,” Isaiah said calmly. “Only soone like that can better implent and guard the will of the gods. That’s also why he can completely ignore my identity… Would a creation of the gods be afraid of the first person under the gods?”
“…Then what should we do?”
“As long as it’s not at the point of imdiate execution, there’s room for maneuver,” Isaiah’s tone remained calm. “After all, moving the target of Heavenly Sound Obedience towards isn’t surprising. Now they simply moved the tiline up, cutting out so convolutions. Since they’re pressing, we’ll press on as well.”
Isaiah’s calmness gradually steadied the anxious Mina. She didn’t speak again, but quietly waited for Isaiah’s orders.
“The most direct and effective thod,” Isaiah slowly spoke, “is to let them know that the real Tongue is still alive. Go, do as I told you before. Now I’m definitely under their key surveillance, only you can accomplish it.”
Mina nodded. As she was about to leave, Isaiah called her again.
“Also, help contact Rhein, the Bishop,” Isaiah said calmly. “Tell him I want to invite him for afternoon tea.”
Mina hesitated about this request: “Teacher, from what I know of Bishop Rocky, I don’t think he would dare to co.”
“Just deliver the ssage,” Isaiah turned and entered the house. “If he doesn’t want to co, I’ll go to him.”
“Yes!”
Mina was about to carry out the task when she saw Isaiah suddenly halt before entering the house, then abruptly turn his head, staring intently in one direction.
This sudden change startled Mina: “Old, teacher?”
Isaiah didn’t pay attention to Mina, only continued to scan that direction, observing those tents, the Guardians, and the representatives of various churches. Every item and every person fell into his view.
He didn’t find anything unusual, but he knew it wasn’t an illusion.
So, after a brief silence, Isaiah chuckled lightly: “You dare co to this place… you really have guts, Hand Eye.”
…
Before Isaiah discovered him, Bai Wei had already withdrawn his gaze and concealed his figure.
He intentionally let Isaiah know of his presence.
If Heavenly Voice Obedience and the Prison Director don’t pressure you, then what about adding him?
Bai Wei had already begun to enjoy the ga with Isaiah, though Ina next to him wasn’t enjoying it as much.
After the eting ended, Ina had been wanting to speak, showing a look that said a lot was troubling her, clearly having many questions to ask Bai Wei but unsure if she should.
In the end, Bai Wei couldn’t bear seeing this old acquaintance’s daughter continue to agonize, so he smiled and said: “Your curiosity is quite intense.”
“You found out,” she said.
“That’s hard not to notice, your expression was too obvious.”
“…After all, those things were too shocking.” Ina said softly, “I find it hard to pretend I heard nothing.”
“A curiosity that’s too intense isn’t always good, but there is sothing I can tell you.”
“What is it?”
“I’m not here to destroy the world.”
Ina shivered instantly.
Regarding Bai Wei’s identity, she was only guessing, as Bai Wei hadn’t explicitly stated it, and both sides were rely tacitly understanding.
But now, Bai Wei was clearly admitting that he was Visas.
“What happened a thousand years ago?” Ina couldn’t help but ask.
“Unfortunately, I can’t answer that,” Bai Wei pointed to his head. “Truth be told, I slept for a long ti until recently, and because of it, I’ve lost so mories; many things I can’t recall.”
“Really?” Ina was a bit disappointed.
“Yes, it can only be like this,” Bai Wei said with a smile. “I’ll tell you when I rember.”
“You’re joking,” though Ina felt this was Bai Wei’s excuse, she couldn’t say it outright, she also saw Bai Wei had his own matters to attend to, so she perford a standard Knight’s salute before leaving, “I’ll take my leave then.”
Bai Wei wanted to remind Ina that here she was his superior, she didn’t need to be so respectful, especially in the previous eting where Ina’s behavior made Bai Wei look like the real mastermind of Lyra.
Though there’s nothing wrong with saying that, Bai Wei said no more, only smiling and nodding.
And before leaving the room, Ina hesitated for a mont before she turned and said to Bai Wei: “No matter who you really are, as long as my father trusts you, I will trust you just the sa. You don’t need to explain anything. Because, ultimately, you saved all of Lyra.”
