Chapter 662: Heavenly Voice Obedience
Herwinia tilted her head slightly, montarily unable to understand Edwin’s aning.
What does “seen sothing more terrifying than the Lord of Nightmares” an, where did this notion co from?
Earlier, these Nightmare Apostles had suddenly sprung up to ambush her, glaring fiercely right in front of her, and Herwinia had no idea what they were doing, directly cutting them down effortlessly. Afterwards, Edwin had turned into this current state, looking as if he’d seen a ghost.
“What do you an?” Herwinia asked, “Why not speak clearly, who are these fellows? You said just now… Nightmare Servants?”
Edwin grudgingly rose from the blood stains; he was rely a Dream Scholar and not physically strong, so he looked as if he might faint at any mont.
“Yes, Nightmare Followers,” Edwin said in a low voice. “They are rooted within the nightmares of the Lord of Nightmares, transforming their entire bodies into part of the Lord’s nightmares, thus they are called Nightmare Followers. They are also the most formidable among the Nightmare Apostles.”
“But I felt none of their power.”
Herwinia frowned slightly; to her, these few had less combat strength than the casually selected Silver Sound Players from the Holy Sound.
“That’s precisely the issue,” Edwin said. “Our Nightmare Apostles’ strength doesn’t manifest in reality; it thrives in dreams, or spiritual power. In the realm of dreams, we are the most powerful, and how to use our ntal power to attack people in the real world is our practical combat thod. There are two ways: the first is what you encountered initially, we use dream fragnts to pull you into our dream realm… but this thod isn’t very effective, particularly against soone like you who is excessively powerful in reality, nine tis out of ten you’ll kill us before the dream fragnts open.”
“And the other?”
“It’s this thod right now,” Edwin looked down at the scattered corpses at their feet, his eyelids twitching. “We bring the power from the dream realm into reality, and in this aspect, Nightmare Followers are the leaders. As I ntioned earlier, they are the embodint of nightmares, of the Lord of Nightmares’ nightmares.”
Herwinia understood sothing: “So, when they were watching earlier, they were already attacking ?”
“Yes,” Edwin said. “This is the most direct form of attack.”
“Under normal circumstances, what would my reaction be?” Herwinia asked, “Why did you say I’ve seen sothing more terrifying than the Lord of Nightmares?”
“Because the essence of a Nightmare Servant’s attack is to crush your spirit with an unparalleled terror,” Edwin explained. “For example, everyone has sothing they fear the most—so fear darkness, others fear venomous snakes. Suddenly, sothing a thousand tis more terrifying than your worst fear appears before you; it’s unimaginable, incomprehensible, unnaable, just the purest horror—darker than darkness, more venomous than snakes. The mont you face this, your mind collapses, consigned to eternal nightmare.”
“Yet nothing happened to .”
“That’s why I asked what you’ve seen!” Edwin exclaid. “You don’t fear darkness because you have light in your hand; you don’t fear snakes because you have a raptor beside you that can devour them! You cannot be crushed by the unnaable aspect of the Lord of Nightmares because to you, His power isn’t unnaable; you can imagine it, understand it, so it can’t beco your nightmare. Understand?!”
With Edwin putting it this way, Herwinia naturally understood.
It ant that only she has a perception beyond the Lord of Nightmares, so she wouldn’t fear His nightmares.
And where does this understanding co from?
The answer is clear.
She has coexisted as one with Visas’s soul for months, and still carries a bone belonging to Him, hence her knowledge surpasses the Lord of Nightmares?
Having already seen sothing most terrifying, she wouldn’t fear sothing at this level anymore?
Herwinia hadn’t imagined that her coexistence with Bai Wei could have such an effect.
Yet while knowing this, she certainly wouldn’t disclose the reason to Edwin, so facing Edwin’s shocked yet expectant gaze, she only slightly nodded, not responding further.
But that was enough for Edwin to grasp her aning.
“I suddenly feel the secrets within you aren’t much less than those I’ve got,” Edwin sighed. “If possible, I’d really like to properly study you.”
Herwinia replied indifferently, “You wouldn’t want to.”
Edwin wanted to say more, but seeing the piles of corpse remains at his feet, sensibly closed his mouth.
“So, are these people you attracted?” Herwinia asked, “Can they truly move so quickly? You barely took out that piece of knowledge a day ago.”
“It ans they are still searching for across the world, and what I presented is not complete knowledge, just a partial piece of information.”
Edwin pressed his fingertips to his temple twice and then slowly pulled outward, causing a pale blue ripple to follow his fingers, separating from his head.
