Rocky got off the carriage, looking at the dark and shabby little village in front of him, his eyes full of gloom.

"What the hell is this damn place again?" Rocky cursed, "What does Contract Land even an? I'm here for a eting, but I haven't even seen their people yet. I've been circling around in the carriage every day. These bastards really deserve to die."

The little priest next to Rocky knew that Lord Bishop was very angry. Initially, he thought it was just coming to Contract Land for a eting and posting a Wanted Notice, which would be resolved quickly so they could return ho.

But the fact was they hadn't t anyone from Contract Land yet, they were just circling around in so area, which naturally made Rocky, who was always second to none, very displeased.

"Uh, Lord Bishop, according to what they said on the Contract Land's side, they haven't completed the preparations for the gathering." The little priest answered, stamring while wiping the cold sweat off his forehead, "Should I urge them again? At least let them give us an exact location... I'm sorry, I might have spoken too much."

Before he could finish speaking, the little priest was glared back by Rocky's murderous-looking eyes and instantly fell silent.

In fact, Rocky was just complaining; he didn't dare provoke Contract Land's trouble, because he also knew why Contract Land was doing this.

Contract Land is both a place and an organization. It is located in the largest no-man's land in this world, but no one knows its specific location. Although the Eight Great Churches send a group of "Guardians" to Contract Land every twenty years, these Guardians are not allowed to return, they must die there.

In the past thousand years, there have only been very few occasions where Guardians returned, such as the Holy Sound crisis months ago, but the returning Holy Sound Players were bound by a contract; they are not allowed to reveal the location of Contract Land even in death, and this stringent rule even overrides the doctrines of the major churches.

This ti, the gathering of the Eight Great Churches (actually six) is also unprecedented for Contract Land, and they obviously have no intention of placing the delegations from the various churches directly into Contract Land. After all, they can't mark every mber of the delegation with a Divine Contract, but they also cannot allow so many outsiders to know their location. So they plan to build a new, secret eting place in this no-man's land.

However, the location of this eting is also top secret, and even Lord Bishop Rocky doesn't know, he can only wait here.

"I truly have no idea what kind of monstrosity is sealed in there," Rocky grumbled, "It's been kept secret for a thousand years, fine, but they don't even have the decency to show a good attitude. They're being fed by us, yet they can show us this attitude. Damn it."

Seeing Rocky continuously spewing curses, the little priest next to him kept his head down, not daring to speak.

As the little priest close to the Archbishop, his relationship with Rocky could be described as intimate, so he naturally knew why Rocky harbored such a great resentnt towards the support.

Previously ntioned, Contract Land remained aloof from worldly affairs, and it was always subsidized by the Eight Great Churches. For thousands of years, the Eight Great Churches continuously contributed funds, manpower, and resources to maintain a sufficiently stable balance with Contract Land.

However, this balance got disrupted in the past half-year.

In this half-year, Lyra is half-crippled, Holy Sound practically extinct, and Senluo (Wildfire) even lost its na.

The original eight-to-one supply suddenly regressed to six-to-one, naturally causing the pressure to explode. For Bishop Rocky, whenever he saw that unspeakable expenditure growing larger, he just wanted to shout to the heavens, "My money!" and then turn the whole thing over and not pay a single penny.

Unfortunately, the Divine Contract overrides all rules, so no matter how discontent he is, he can only grit his teeth and comply.

"Lord Bishop." Just when Rocky was raging impotently, the accompanying knight hurriedly walked out from the village to him and whispered, "There's another church delegation in the village."

Another church delegation?

Upon hearing this, Rocky imdiately gathered his negative emotions and beca solemn.

In front of other churches, he still needed to maintain his image, after all, he was the next Pope of Rhein.

"Oh?" He asked casually, "Which church? Lyra or Star Relic?"

"Eternal Nightmare."

Rocky's eyebrows imdiately furrowed.

Eternal Nightmare, one of the Four Great Secret Religions, Rocky didn't know much about them, only knowing they are extremists advocating the abandonnt of reality and eternal fall into dreams.

Unexpectedly, he first encountered these Esoteric believers.

Honestly, Rocky didn't want to bother with them. Nominally, the Orthodox and Esoteric churches are still in opposition. If not for being here, he should have led a team to take out these guys.

But…

"Lord Bishop." The previous Rhein Knight said, "It seems they have sothing they want to discuss with you."

Sothing to discuss with ?

Rocky's frown deepened.

There is no territorial connection or relation between Rhein and Eternal Nightmare. What on earth would these cultists want to discuss with him?

However, since the other side had already issued an invitation, Rocky couldn't refuse, otherwise, it'd seem like he was afraid of them. He was, after all, the next Pope of Rhein!

Thinking of this, Rocky cleared his throat and then instructed the knight to lead the way. The knight imdiately took the lead, guiding Rocky toward the central house of the village.
