Chapter 607: 53 Good night Vic, good night Ade

In front of the shabby cabin, a small wolf sat at the door, gazing with its slightly hazy eyes at the pure white world.

Then it was tapped on the head by a hand.

“What are you waiting for?” A familiar voice sounded.

The small wolf raised its head and saw an unfamiliar face, but it still guessed the other’s identity.

“Mr. Visas?” It still used Vic’s voice.

Bai Wei responded with a “hmm,” then asked, “What’s going on with you now? Are you Ade, Vic, or Wildfire?”

“…I don’t know who I am.” It whispered, “I have mories corresponding to all three identities you ntioned, but…”

“But what?”

“More inclined towards Ade and Vic, which is the part of the ti with you.” It said, “The others, whether Wildfire or Saint, seem distant, like I’m viewing soone else’s mories.”

“Is that so?” Bai Wei nodded, “That’s also good, then you’re still the person I’m familiar with.”

“Very grateful that you think so.”

Bai Wei laughed, “Why so polite all of a sudden? It wasn’t like this before.”

“Before, you didn’t reveal your true identity and used an alias.”

“It’s not exactly an alias; the na is real, from a friend of mine.”

“A friend?”

“Yes, a friend like you.”

“Can I be considered your friend?”

“Why wouldn’t you be?”

“…Well, I understand.” It nodded, “Looks like you’ll use my na in the future.”

“Let’s forget about that.” Bai Wei shrugged, “I don’t want to use a dog’s na.”

“Although I’ve said it many tis, I must say again, I’m a wolf.” Ade said, “Do you really not know the difference between a wolf and a dog?”

After that sentence, person and wolf looked at each other and smiled, as if the familiar feeling had returned.

“That’s more like it.” Bai Wei said lazily, “We’re not just getting to know each other.”

“Sorry, my cognition and thinking are still a bit chaotic.” Ade said, “Even though the mories of Wildfire and Saint don’t affect that much, they still have so influence, making it difficult for to chat with you like before. And the forr …”

“What happened?”

Ade shrugged human-like, “A bit silly.”

“No problem, for a dog, that’s not silly.”

“I’m a wolf, thank you.”

They smiled at each other again.

After the laughter, Bai Wei asked, “By the way, do you regret it?”

“Regret what?”

“Regret becoming like this.” Bai Wei said, “You could have beco a god; then, even I wouldn’t be able to do anything to you, and things wouldn’t have reached this point.”

“Hmm… I don’t know either.”

“Don’t know?”

“Yes.” Ade said, “Because both choices are sothing I haven’t experienced, neither becoming a god nor sacrificing for others… It seems like two extres?”

“Indeed, they are two extres.” Bai Wei nodded, “Gods don’t sacrifice for others, only make others sacrifice for them, like Senluo at that ti.”

“But I hate Senluo the most.” Ade said softly, “Even more than hating you.”

Bai Wei looked at Ade’s eyes, perhaps even he didn’t notice that now he had beco Wildfire again, eyes full of hatred.

But the process didn’t last long, the hatred soon faded, and then he said belatedly, “Ah, I seed to be affected by Wildfire’s emotions just now.”

“Looks like it.” Bai Wei said with a smile, “His hatred is overflowing.”

“Yes.” Ade nodded, “The heaviest emotions inside him, one is fear towards you, the other is hatred for Senluo. But I will try to control it, you probably don’t want to chat with him.”

“In all fairness, yes.” Bai Wei said, “But you don’t need to deliberately control it.”

Ade looked confused, but when he saw Bai Wei pointing at himself, he felt sothing and lowered his head.

He saw tiny, dust-like gleams leaving from his body, drifting afar.

“What is this?”

“A part of him is dying.”

“But isn’t he already dead?”

“It’s dying.” Bai Wei said, “Death is a process, like human aging, where one gradually loses mories. It begins with the unimportant ones, then slowly to more significant, those that leave impressions in the mind, and finally the most significant, those engrained in the soul. When that last mory is gone, then the person is truly dead. Corresponding to you, it’s your different identity perceptions.”

“I see.” Ade asked, “What do I lose first then?”

Bai Wei laughed and said, “It’s up to you.”

Ade closed his eyes, quietly feeling.

The dust-shaped gleams floated like dancing dandelions, drifting afar, forming a path of light.

Then Ade opened his eyes, full of excitent.

“I can’t feel him anymore, Priest Ulu!” Ade said, “I’m no longer afraid of you!”

This was the Ade Bai Wei knew…or Vic.

“Oh, oh, oh, I almost forgot, you’re Lord Visas.” Ade scratched his ear with his paw, “Not Priest Ulu.”

“No, when I’m with you, I’m Priest Ulu.” Bai Wei said with a smile, “Just like when you’re with , you’re Vic.”

Ade scratched his ear again, then quickly realized sothing, ears and tail drooping, looking very dejected.
