Vic felt like his head was going to split open.

It was as if sothing inside his head wanted to cleave it from the inside out.

The intense pain almost made him lose consciousness on the spot, but he gritted his teeth and held on.

Because he could sense those guys were coming.

He saw in front of him a half-man half-wolf very similar to himself, saw Ryan lying on the ground, covered in blood after being attacked, and heard Rella’s frantic screams.

So he wanted to do sothing, but the pain left him incapable of doing anything, only able to watch helplessly, unable to utter a word.

And the half-man half-wolf who had taken down Ryan also noticed Vic, stepping over Ryan’s and Rella’s bodies to approach him.

"It really is you." Wood chuckled, "Saint."

... Saint?

Is he... calling ?

"It seems Lauren was right, you did encounter so obstacles, but that’s okay, let help you finish the last part of the journey."

Vic forced himself to lift his head and saw the other extending a hand... no, it was a claw.

But that claw was as sharp as a knife, and Vic seed to see his own blurry reflection in it.

He was about to die here.

Vic thought.

But the claw stopped just short of piercing his skull.

"Oh..." Wood slowly turned around, looking rather surprised at the fallen Ryan behind him, "A Pureblood Hunter... and the legacy has been maintained so well."

All the Wildfire Sect mbers looked towards Ryan.

Ryan’s torn flesh was emitting a white smoke and rapidly healing.

Then Ryan stood up, with one arm holding the still-frightened Rella, the other gripping a worn-out staff, a black trench coat flapping in the wind, faintly showing a rusty curved blade strapped behind him.

"Very impressive." Seeing Ryan stand up, the surprise on Wood’s face turned to admiration, "To be able to stand after being knocked down by , you’re the first one tonight... You must be the strongest Hunter in this city."

Hearing Wood’s words, Ryan’s expression barely changed, only murmuring, "So that ans I am the last one in this city?"

"No, not just this city." Wood shook his head, "More accurately, you’re the last one in this land you call Senluo, as this city was our last strike."

"... I see." Ryan nodded slightly, "I didn’t even receive any news, seems you’re eager to start a new era, indeed, this land has been in chaos too long."

Wood was sowhat surprised by Ryan’s calm reaction.

"You’re not angry?" Wood said, "Your era is about to end by our hands."

"End? When I beca a Hunter, the God of Senluo was already gone, from then the era of Hunters was over." Ryan said calmly, "If you can really take over this ss, it wouldn’t be a bad thing."

Wood tilted his head, frowning slightly.

He seed unable to understand Ryan’s words, drooling from the gaps between his sharp but incomplete teeth as he tilted his head.

"I have only one question." Ryan first glanced at Vic behind Wood, then looked down at the still trembling Rella in his arms, "Those two kids have nothing to do with Hunters, can you let them leave?"

Wood understood this question, and he shook his head with a smile: "No."

Rella trembled even more violently.

Ryan gently patted Rella’s shoulder in comfort, then asked, "Can I know the reason?"

"Only light that shines into darkness is the most dazzling." Wood said, "This land needs to be reborn in a Fierce Fire."

"Why not be clearer about it."

"Ha ha, can’t comprehend it?" Wood laughed, "We learned this from your Hunters, during the Senluo Period, it’s often those who truly face the threat of life and death that respect Senluo and Hunters more."

Ryan was silent for a while, then slowly nodded: "I think I understand your aning, in that case..."

He reached for the rusty curved blade strapped to his back.

The two Wildfire Sect mbers closest to him seed to sense sothing and imdiately lunged at Ryan.

Ryan suddenly crouched, moving so fast it was impossible for the eye to catch, only the flapping black trench coat was visible, like a flag rising suddenly, it blocked everyone’s view.

"Ka-chak."

Under the trench coat, the sound of tal clashing echoed, as if two tal objects were pieced together.

No one saw what it was, but the two Wildfire Sect mbers attacking Ryan tore through the flapping coat.

Yet instead of tearing into flesh as imagined, they were t by a long-handled... scythe!

"Whoosh!"

That scythe, corroded by countless years and rusted, still sliced through the air with a scream no less than that of the Wildfire Sect’s wolf-claws.

Almost instantly, the seemingly strong body of one Wildfire Sect mber was easily halved, blood gushing forth.

The other Wildfire Sect mber quickly turned his head, seeing Ryan had already retreated two ters away.
