As expected of a girl who grew up in a tavern.

Before long, the sizzling aroma of at filled the entire courtyard.

Lance wasn’t idle either—like performing a magic trick, he brought out all kinds of desserts and snacks, piling them onto the long table in the yard.

After several rounds of drinks and a spread of dishes—

A faint blush of tipsiness appeared on the cheeks of the girls, and the atmosphere gradually grew lively.

“Hehe, let

show you sothing good.”

Amber mysteriously pulled out an exquisite black velvet box from her arms and placed it on the table with a light thud.

“What is this?”

Nia leaned in curiously.

“This is a parting gift given to my dad by one of his teammates back when he was adventuring.”

Amber opened the box, her tone carrying a hint of pride.

“This is a genuine magical item—its na is 【Confession of the Phantom Iris】.”

“They say it was personally crafted by a witch.”

At the ntion of “witch,” the eyes of the other two girls lit up instantly, and the slightly dazed Flora straightened up at once.

In this world, witches were an extrely special demi-human race.

They possessed unique soul structures and held an almost obsessive understanding of emotions.

Thus, in the tales of bards across the continent, witches were often the protagonists of tragically beautiful love stories.

Of course.

In so more realistic unofficial histories, they were also the creators of those terrifying, knife-wielding love tragedies.

“A witch-made item? Given to your dad?”

Sitting nearby, Lance suddenly had a bold thought.

That so-called teammate—could it be that they had wanted to use this item to subtly confess sothing to Amber’s burly, rough-and-tumble professional father?

This storyline… why did it sound like one of those gut-wrenching romance stories?

But seeing how excited the girls were, he wisely swallowed that thought and leaned in with curiosity.

This was his first ti seeing such a rare magical item up close.

Amber took the cards out of the box.

The material of the deck was very peculiar—cool and smooth to the touch, as if it had been polished from extrely thin slices of crystal.

The back of each card was adorned with intricate and exquisite silver iris patterns, shimring faintly under the light.

The front, however, was completely blank—pure white, with nothing on it.

“This thing is really amazing.”

Amber introduced it like a salesperson.

“When you flip a card, an issue specifically targeted at you will appear on its surface. You must answer it honestly in front of everyone.”

“Based on the truthfulness of your answer, it will display different colors.”

At this point, Amber deliberately paused, flashing a mischievous grin as she built suspense.

“As for which color represents what—you’ll find out once we play.”

“I’ll go first! I’ll go first!”

Nia could no longer contain her curiosity and raised her hand high.

She reached out and carefully flipped over the top card.

On the previously blank surface, patterns and text gradually erged, like ink spreading across paper.

At the top-left corner was a bright red heart 2.

And in the center of the card appeared a sowhat abstract stick-figure drawing.

The image showed four little figures sleeping, each with distinct features—it was clearly the four of them present.

But strangely—

The figure representing Lance was lying sprawled out right in the middle of the three girls.

“Huh?”

Flora rubbed her eyes, letting out a soft, puzzled murmur.

“Why is Lance sleeping right in the middle of us?”

Looking at the picture, cold sweat almost broke out on Lance’s back as he hurriedly waved his hands in denial.

“That’s slander! That’s never happened before!”

What kind of ridiculous card was this, saring his reputation out of nowhere?

Nia ignored the absurdity of the image and focused on the text below.

【Among the four of us, whose sleeping face do you think is the cutest?】

“Ah?”

Nia froze, letting out a short exclamation.

What kind of question was that?

Before she could react, Amber suddenly put on a stern face and urged seriously:

“Answer quickly! Be serious! And you must say it within three seconds, or this card will explode!”

“Ex—explode?!”

Startled out of her wits, Nia’s mind went completely blank, and she instinctively shouted out a na.

“Flora!”

“I choose Flora!”

As soon as her words fell—

The crystal card did not explode. Instead, its edges began to glow with a soft, gradient azure light.

The glow was pure and clear, like the sky after rain.

Amber took the card, her serious expression instantly lting into a sly smile.

“If it turns this kind of azure, it ans you told the truth.”

Then her eyes darted suspiciously between Nia and Flora, as if she had caught onto sothing.

“Spill it—when did you two sleep together?”

“How co I didn’t know? Have you been forming a little clique behind my back?”

“No, we haven’t!”

Nia’s face turned red as she hurriedly explained.

“It was that ti! That ti Flora got drunk!”

With that reminder, Amber suddenly recalled it.

There really had been such an occasion.

That ti, just like today, Flora had collapsed onto the table after only three cups of fruit wine, sleeping like a peaceful little pig.

The two of them had been watching from the side.

“Wait…”

Nia suddenly realized sothing and pointed at Amber, shouting:

“You were tricking

just now, weren’t you? This card doesn’t explode at all, right?!”

“Are you an idiot?”

Amber burst into triumphant laughter.

Pouting, Nia shoved the remaining deck toward Amber.

“Your turn!”

Amber didn’t refuse and casually drew a card.

Clubs 3.

The image on the card changed—it depicted the four of them sitting together playing cards.

【When the four of us first gathered to play Three Dragon Cards, who lost the worst?】

Seeing this question, Amber froze for a mont.

The miserable scene from that day imdiately surfaced in her mind.

A certain overly confident receptionist had lost so badly she had nearly emptied her money for the next day’s breakfast—if not for Lance secretly going easy on her, she wouldn’t have recovered at all.

But she glanced at Nia, who was wide-eyed and eagerly waiting for a good show.

Amber blinked and, without hesitation, quickly spoke a na.

“Lance.”

As her answer fell—

This ti, the card did not emit the azure glow.

Instead, it was covered in a warm golden light, like the glow of a sunset.

“Gold?”

Lance was a bit curious.

Wasn’t this supposed to detect lies? If she lied, shouldn’t it turn red or black or so kind of warning color?

At that mont, Flora, who had been quietly sitting at the side, was holding the velvet box containing the cards.

Pointing at the explanation written at the bottom, she softly read:

“There’s a description of the colors here…”

“Light gold represents… a gentle lie.”

“It ans that the nature of the lie is not to deceive or harm, but cos from goodwill.”
