Chapter 50: Chapter 50: Setting Fire to the Mountain, Rotting in Prison
Gong Qiying’s mysterious shop had just opened, but now we shift our focus elsewhere.
Strategy Group, a symbol of strength.
Generally ford by elite adventurers, representing the forefront of combat power, once an adventurer is compelled to form a strategy group for a Dungeon, it ans that the Dungeon is terrifyingly strong.
The Sain Dungeon Strategy Group is led by "Lion" Leon, with mbers including "Silver Cat" Maru, "Black Fist" Petain, "Strong" Tal, "Rock" Drew, and others.
The adventurers of Bed City all hold high hopes for the Strategy Group, wishing for them to fiercely exact revenge in the Dungeon with a narrative of entering seven tis and exiting seven tis.
The handso and dashing Leon is very popular among the adventurers, even being the dream lover of many.
Whenever soone asks him when the Strategy Group will officially attack the Sain Dungeon, he always smiles confidently, saying there’s no rush, as once they make a move, they will definitely clear the Sain Dungeon in one day, avenging everyone spectacularly!
People are always impressed by his enthusiastic and sunny smile, firmly believing that this handso guy is invincible in battle.
However...
"Boss, we’ve lost our way back, ow, what do we do?"
Maru, dirty all over, lay on the tree canopy, her face showing exhaustion.
Leon, the dream lover of many won, sat under the tree with a gloomy expression, remaining silent.
His shiny beautiful Armor had lost several pieces during their escape, and the Teleportation Crystal wouldn’t bring back his lost items, aning those expensive armor pieces were truly lost.
Tal was lying on the ground, out of breath and sweaty, Drew looked roughly the sa.
"Where on earth are we..." Maru said in frustration: "Why is it all forest!"
Zooming out the perspective, they were situated in a lush forest, vibrant green in every direction, which would seem to improve one’s eyesight over ti.
"Although we’ve long heard that treasure chests might hold teleportation traps," Tal said in a muffled voice: "I never thought it would be that one..."
"To mix trap chests with two normal ones, which jerk ca up with that design..." Drew angrily pounded the ground, "The first two chests were normal, who would be cautious about the last chest, damn it, damn it!"
Though the Strategy Group outwardly claid they were gathering strength and hadn’t entered Sain Dungeon yet.
In reality, this was already their second entry.
There were no flawless victories, it was just them practicing secretly behind the scenes, just like how top students always claim they haven’t reviewed at all!
Having collected lots of information from other adventurers, the Strategy Group mbers were experts in the swamp area, but once reaching Sick Village, they had to tread carefully, exploring slowly step by step.
This was the progress most adventurers were at; no one had fully explored Sick Village yet, naturally, no bonfire had been found either.
As the Strategy Group, upon their first encounter with Sick Village, they had already advanced halfway which was far beyond what any regular adventurer could achieve, living up to the reputation of the Strategy Group.
The first ti they had a little accident while walking on a rope bridge. Relying on Drew’s Magic, they killed the Monsters shooting arrows from both sides of the bridge without much trouble, but afterwards, one Monster that hadn’t completely died cut the rope of the bridge...
Strategy Group: Robert!!!
The second ti they learned their lesson and didn’t use the bridge but took a longer route, passing through a cluster of broken houses.
Every house could be entered, push the door open and there wouldn’t be a loading black screen, greatly satisfying their desire to explore.
Although entering might encounter various Monsters hiding by the door, behind the door, at the ceiling, underground, or inside shabby cabinets...
But there were many items inside the houses, tempting them to explore.
Imagine seeing a shining white light point inside a house from outside, could you resist not going over to check it out?
Even if you knew it was a trap, you would still go, definitely!
They had already found weapons with Combat Skills, along with Flying Knife, Arrow, Fla Pot, and a heap of miscellaneous items, along with so jewelry.
Only, why does this jewelry seem like the style that’s been popular in Bed City recently...
Upon closer inspection, most items they found were useless, yet occasionally they ca across so interesting props.
For example, a glowing skull that could attract nearby Monsters when thrown, even more effective than Magic, but regrettably, it could only be used once, otherwise, they would have loved to keep it forever.
But the presence of light points often ant Monsters were lurking close by. Having grown accustod to this, the Strategy Group imdiately began searching for any hidden Monsters whenever they spotted a light point, and more often than not, there were. After clearing the Monsters, they could pick up the items with peace of mind.
However, this habit led them into trouble.
After defeating an Elite Monster that had a sheep’s head and was accompanied by several dogs, they found three treasure chests.
There were always gains after a big battle, and besides, they had already cleared the vicinity of any Monsters, surely there couldn’t be any danger.
Then, they gleefully opened all the treasure chests, and found themselves here—in the mid-tier area, the forest of Undead Town.
"No matter which direction we walk, the scenery is the sa," Tal said gloomily, "Are we trapped in an Illusion Technique?"
"I think there’s sothing off with this forest," Drew propped himself up and said, "Petain has been gone for a while on his own, hasn’t returned yet, probably dead sowhere. That guy is always so impulsive."
To avoid drawing attention, the Strategy Group had set their Teleportation Crystal’s destination at a known Priest’s house so that in case of death, the Priest could resurrect them instead of being seen at the Resurrection House.
"At least he had the courage to go out," Maru said idly swinging her arms, "I dare not walk any further. Generally, teleportation traps like this send people to dangerous places, a weak woman like
can’t risk moving out alone,"
"Enough,"
Leon, who had been silent, stood up, and everyone imdiately stopped talking.
"Get up, I’m going to set a fire," he pulled out a Magic Scroll, a Mid-tier Fla Storm!
"Oh man, boss be careful,"
Everyone quickly ran to the side, guessing the boss must be desperate to use the last resort scroll!
Setting fire to burn the forest, sitting through danger.
Muttering the Spell, sparks surged out, forming a slowly swirling vortex of flas. If this Magic materialized, it might turn the nearby area of the forest into Ash!
At that mont, sothing lurking nearby couldn’t hold back any longer.
"Rustle-rustle-rustle,"
The surrounding trees suddenly grew taller, no, not taller, they were standing up!
It turned out these trees were tree-n in disguise, no wonder they couldn’t find their way out!
"Finally showed your true colors,"
Leon smiled, extinguished the fire, revealing his sword-holding right hand enveloped with a layer of wind pressure!
The Magic Scroll was too expensive, and he did not want to waste it, using it as bait to lure nearby Monsters was perfect.
His sword could equally crush the bodies of Monsters!
"Duck down!" he shouted, spinning his body, intending to simultaneously slash through the surrounding tree-n!
A purely physical attack, driven by mighty force, capable of blasting through all obstacles!
"SONASI!"
Was that so strange sound?
Leon suddenly realized, among the tree-n there was a blue Sli-like creature, looking fragile and easily killable with one strike of the sword.
But a bad feeling arose in his heart.
Too late, his sword had already struck the Indeedee.
[Wild Indeedee used Double Return!]
