Chapter 45: Chapter 45: Treasure Box Monster and Explosive Soldier Trap

Demon Clan, a brutal, cunning, and bloodthirsty race.

Chaos is the biggest characteristic of this race; races like humans, elves, dwarves, beastn, and others all have more or less common racial traits, such as pointed ears, short stature, etc.

But the Demon Clan is different; each of their appearances is monstrously unique, which relies entirely on what kind of Monster their parents have consud. The more they consu a certain type of Monster, the more the offspring resembles that kind of Monster.

However, the authenticity of this statent is still to be verified, as there have been attempts to feed the Demon Clan only vegetables, yet no one has given birth to a Plant-man.

In any case, as long as one has horns on their head, a tail behind them, dark skin, and various other mutated features, that’s a mber of the Demon Clan.

They possess intelligence no less than humans, but their desire for slaughter far exceeds that of humans, hence their notoriety on the continent.

Every one or two hundred years, or every two or three hundred years, a super individual known as the "Demon King" is born within the Demon Clan. At that ti, the Demon Clan will follow the command of the Demon King, unleashing a disaster that sweeps across the continent.

And when the Demon King brings about apocalypse, there will always be Heroes who stand up to him. Historical records show that the Demon King has never defeated a Hero.

The present-day Demon Clan is hibernating in the Western Continent, lying in wait for the resurrection of the Demon King.

So how did these creatures make it into the Sain Dungeon?

The Yanor Kingdom is bordered by the sea to the east, shrouded in dense fog to the north, separated by a vast desert from other human kingdoms to the south, and on the west, it borders the Western Continent where the Demon Clan resides.

Thankfully, there is a continuous range of high mountains that block the Miasma between the two lands, but few people live along the borders of the Yanor Kingdom.

Bed City is located to the southwest, not quite a border city, but to call it part of the inland would be a bit of a stretch, awkwardly situated in-between.

For the Demon Clan to co to Bed City, they would have to pass through dozens of large cities. Besides, there are strict Demon Clan detection Magic at the border, so how did they get here alive?

Is there sothing in Bed City worth their life-and-death struggle to get here?

"I want to catch a few and interrogate them,"

Gong Qiying took an interest.

Although he is an Animated Corpse and his daily work involves trapping adventurers—who are currently mostly human—he has always considered himself to be a good person.

Toward the Demon Clan, a kind universally despised, he harbors a simple sentint—he wants to annihilate them.

Both publicly and privately, he couldn’t just pretend not to see; after all, the Demon Clan kills. For every person the Demon Clan kills, that’s one less potential custor for his Dungeon.

You ask why not use the Demon Clan in place of humans? After all, they’re the sa in terms of harvesting spiritual power.

The answer is that Gong Qiying simply prefers humans over the Demon Clan. It’s that simple.

Capture a couple for interrogation, then break the limbs of the rest and throw them out of the Dungeon for the people outside to deal with.

He imdiately thought of a plan and continued to observe the Demon Clan’s every move, looking for any operable spots along the path.

"Their direction... I rember that there’s a newly added trap over there, just right for use,"

Five mbers of the Demon Clan were walking through the swamp.

There was not much luster in their eyes, as if a layer of shadow veiled their pupils, which added a touch more horror to their appearance.

There was no communication among themselves; by all appearances, they seed to treat their companions as if they were nothing. But when Monsters attacked, their assaults were well-coordinated.

"Gah dah gah dah—"

Under Gong Qiying’s control, several skeleton monsters charged at a Demon Clan mber whose body was full of blades, even his arms taking the form of long swords. According to common sense, the slashing attribute of the skeleton monsters’ attacks would have resistance.

The Demon Clan mber knew this too, so he rely shifted his stance slightly. Accompanied by a whooshing sound, an iron ball as large as a human head appeared out of nowhere and violently smashed the skeleton monsters to pieces.

Shattered to such an extent, even if it didn’t die, it would not be able to get up for a while.

Silently, a Demon Clan retrieved the iron ball, and upon closer inspection, it turned out that the iron ball was attached to its body, its left arm was a tentacle, tightly connected to the iron ball at the tip.

Their thod of attack was to utilize their bodily features; those with bladed arms would use Slashing, while those with wings on their backs would take flight and ram into their foes.

"Good reflexes," Gong Qiying continued to control Monsters to attack the Demons, however, whether it was an ambush or a direct confrontation, the adversaries had ways to defend themselves, at most sustaining so injuries as a price.

He had directed five waves of attacks, the end result was two Demon Clansn severely wounded, and three lightly wounded.

But the flesh of the Demon Clan squird for a mont, and then the hard-earned wounds were completely healed, indicating the Demon Clan possessed strong Recovery Power.

However, even though they appeared to have healed on the outside, the two who suffered severe injuries began walking unsteadily, after all, their physical strength couldn’t be replenished so quickly.

"It seems they only look intimidating, their actual combat strength may be even lower than Steeran’s," without realizing it, Gong Qiying had already started to use the people around him as units of asurent for combat strength.

The good news was these Demons’ combat strength wasn’t particularly strong, and they could be beaten.

The bad news was, if these kind of Demons could slip in, what were the guards in Bed City even doing?

Were the people near the Teleportation Gate blind?

Chased and blocked by Monsters, the Demons started to hurry, scrambling through the swamp like headless flies, soon losing their direction.

During the escape, any Monster that appeared before them would be rcilessly slain, despite being chased by many Monsters and risking being surrounded if they slowed down even slightly, the Demons still wasted ti killing the nearest Monsters.

Could it be that, just like the rumors said, the Demon Clan was extrely bloodthirsty? So bloodthirsty that they disregarded everything else?

At this point, a Treasure Box Monster appeared in front of them, surrounded by many withered trees, it looked as though it was surrounded, with an opening only facing the Demons’ direction.

The Demons glanced at each other, and without saying anything, they had made a decision—together they walked towards the treasure box.

Should one say they were careless or just ignorant? Either way, they walked right into the circle of withered trees.

A Demon knocked on the Treasure Box Monster, confird there was sothing inside, and opened the lid with a bit of force.

The surrounding Demons, curious, gathered around.

Indeed, there was sothing inside the box, but it was strange—a slimy, sticky tongue, the edges of the box lined with sharp teeth...

This goddamn thing is a Treasure Box Monster!

Before the Demons could react, two thin, pale arms shot out from inside the box, grabbing the nearest Demon tight, and with one bite took half of the Demon’s body away!

The surrounding Demons also ca to their senses, their attacks raining down on the Treasure Box Monster like a storm, tearing it apart in the blink of an eye!

But it was too late!

When they tried to turn around, the way back had disappeared without them knowing when! Dense, withered trees had encircled them, even the sky was obscured.

At this mont, dangerous auras erged, the ground lit up, revealing Magic Arrays, dizzying to look at, easily numbering twenty or thirty!

Inside each Magic Array, the figures of Monsters were slowly materializing!

"Finally took the bait,"

Gong Qiying’s Animated Corpse face cracked a smile, displaying a horrific grin.

This trap had been conjured up while he reminisced about "Sword Art Online."
