Who Cares About Him When I'm Married to the Richest Man? Chapter 51: Jacobs Corporation Compensation
Zachary Hale paused slightly in surprise, "What kind of person could he be? He’s just an insurance salesman, but I value him highly; I’m planning to hand over the entire business departnt to him in the future."
Mason Jacobs remained persistent, "He has no background?"
Zachary Hale paused for a mont, then chuckled, "You’re asking about that? He is indeed a relative of the second-in-command of our company, but that has nothing to do with his work ability; he is excellent in his own right."
Mason Jacobs’ expression fluctuated, and after a long pause, he said, "I understand. Sorry for wasting your ti, I’ll treat Mr. Hale to dinner another day."
After hanging up the phone, he thought for a mont and called Mr. Walker from Kryll Mining.
"Mr. Walker, when we t at Aethelgard Villa earlier, you ntioned wanting to sign a contract with Zion Fitzwilliam. What kind of contract was that?"
At that ti, outside the Jacobs Villa, Elara Hale had hit her mother, who was about to confront Elara. Zion Fitzwilliam arrived, accompanied by Mr. Walker, claiming they were going to the company to sign a contract the next day.
So many things had happened recently that he had forgotten to interfere in this matter.
Mr. Walker replied with a cheerful laugh, "It’s the company’s employee insurance contract. What’s up, does President Jacobs need it too? I can recomnd Fitzwilliam to you; this kid is pretty good."
Mason Jacobs pursed his thin lips, exchanged a few pleasantries, and hung up the phone.
Holding his phone, he found himself lost for the first ti. It doesn’t seem to be Zion Fitzwilliam, so who could it be?
Mason Jacobs suddenly recalled the lawyer he had seen in court.
The lawyer nad Brandon White.
Previously, he had never heard of Brandon White’s na, but that day it was this lawyer who effortlessly produced two videos that almost ruined him.
He had always thought it was Elara Hale and Zion Fitzwilliam causing trouble, but what if... Elara hadn’t deceived him, and the videos were obtained by that lawyer?
This person suddenly appearing by Elara’s side to represent her in court, possessing videos that could ruin him; could his original intent have been to target him?
Mason Jacobs felt like he had grasped the truth.
He didn’t believe that soone of Elara Hale or Zion Fitzwilliam’s status could hire such a person for their defense. The only possibility was that Brandon White was coming for him.
The White Family... Mason Jacobs pondered with a frown. There’s no prominent family with the surna White in Northgarde; could it be from Seacliff?
He imdiately picked up the phone to call his assistant, "Check the background of the lawyer from the opposing side in court that day. Find out everything about him."
Special Assistant Wood, confused, asked, "What’s wrong, President Jacobs?"
Is it really necessary to go to such lengths to check the background of a re lawyer?
Mason Jacobs replied with a deep voice, "He might be problematic, so go investigate."
Special Assistant Wood promptly responded, "Got it!"
Mason Jacobs put down his phone and took a deep breath. If President Dalton hadn’t deceived him, regardless of what was going on with Brandon White, he must first reconcile with Elara Hale.
A mont later, he decided to call Elara Hale.
The phone rang for a long ti, but Elara didn’t answer.
Feeling annoyed, Mason Jacobs called several more tis, but no matter how many tis he dialed, the call went unanswered.
A sense of inexplicable frustration surged in his heart. Ever since the divorce, Elara Hale seed to never answer his calls again; the one ti she reached out to him was to plead for her father’s affairs.
What, does his ex-wife really despise him so much that she wants to stay as far away as possible?
Mason Jacobs didn’t quite understand his own feelings. It was as if she were a dog he used to keep, expected to wag its tail in his presence all the ti, to co whenever summoned and leave as he wished.
But now, the dog that once regarded him as her entire world had suddenly rebelled, found a new master, flattering and pleasing to the new master while completely disregarding him.
He didn’t care much about the dog, but it was just too hard to accept.
However, the most pressing matter was the company; Mason Jacobs called Attorney Carter, "Communicate with Elara Hale’s lawyer; we’re withdrawing the lawsuit and offering compensation."
Attorney Carter was puzzled, "President Jacobs, we’re in a favorable position; last ti we were caught off guard by the video issue, but it’s resolved now. Why withdraw the lawsuit?"
Mason Jacobs snorted, "You think I want to? We’re being targeted by the opposing lawyer. We’ll make further plans once Special Assistant Wood figures out the background of that lawyer."
Attorney Carter frowned. That lawyer nad Brandon White? He had already checked him; he had just obtained a professional lawyer qualification, an inexperienced rookie lawyer. Is it really worth all this attention?
However, he didn’t ask further, only replied, "Alright, I’ll contact the opposing side."
Elara Hale received the news after work.
On the phone, Zion Fitzwilliam spoke with a hint of laughter, "Jacobs Corporation has withdrawn the lawsuit, offering you a compensation of sixty thousand, and Brandon White managed to secure ninety thousand. The money will be transferred to your account within three days."
Elara Hale was dumbfounded.
No wonder Mason Jacobs bombarded her with calls in the afternoon; Jacobs Corporation really did withdraw the lawsuit?
And they’re compensating her with ninety thousand?
When Zion Fitzwilliam ntioned earlier that Jacobs Corporation would withdraw and offer compensation, she didn’t take it seriously, but it turned out to be true?
Ninety thousand... She had never had that much money in her life.
Elara Hale was sowhat pleased and said, "Brandon White is really great; not afraid of power, managing to obtain such important videos to threaten them."
She assud that Jacobs Corporation withdrew because of those two videos.
Zion Fitzwilliam didn’t explain, only chuckled with a lowered voice and suggested, "How about we have dinner together tonight and thank Brandon White?"
The word "together" felt like a little wooden hamr knocking on Elara Hale’s heart, making her suddenly feel as if they were really a married couple, as one.
"Okay, I’ll treat you guys, and I can’t keep all this compensation money to myself; you and Brandon White should get a share too."
Elara Hale didn’t let money blind her. The lawsuit was won by Brandon White, with the crucial evidence being presented by him. Initially, she didn’t even believe Brandon White could win the case; if it weren’t for Zion Fitzwilliam’s request, she might have changed lawyers long ago.
Winning the lawsuit wasn’t her accomplishnt; naturally, she couldn’t take all the compensation.
Zion Fitzwilliam seed to chuckle slightly but didn’t say much, only added, "Then you tell him tonight."
If Brandon White dared to accept, that is.
The two agreed on the dinner location, and Elara Hale checked the route on the map, then quickly headed towards the nearby bus stop sign.
To celebrate this occasion, she spent extravagantly, choosing a high-end restaurant in the city with an average price of over a thousand per person.
She had just gotten off the bus when she saw Zion Fitzwilliam standing not far away, wearing a white T-shirt, deep gray casual trousers, and white sneakers, looking vibrant and youthful. Coupled with that exquisitely crafted face, he stood like a signpost, attracting the glances of passersby.
Elara Hale paused, as Zion Fitzwilliam’s outfit gave her an inexplicable sense of familiarity, as if countless tis in the past, he had stood before her like this.
Her head suddenly throbbed with pain, and Elara Hale couldn’t help but crouch down...
