After leaving the courthouse, Brandon excitedly said, "Fitzwilliam, sis-in-law, we’ve won the case, how about we go out and celebrate?"

Elara replied, "It’s only recess now, we still don’t know the final outco."

Brandon chuckled smugly, "Don’t worry, we’ll win. If they don’t drop the lawsuit and negotiate compensation within a week, I’ll take my Labrador’s last na."

Zion Fitzwilliam said solemnly, "Don’t do that, you’re already dog-like enough. Taking a dog’s last na, would you still consider yourself human?"

Brandon laughed awkwardly, "Fitzwilliam, that joke’s really cold..."

Elara also laughed, "If it does turn out like you say, I’ll treat you to a great al."

"Sis-in-law, you have to keep your word!"

Elara held back her laughter, "Yes, I keep my promises."

"Alright then, I’ve got to wrap things up quickly. Sis-in-law, see you later, Fitzwilliam, I’m off!"

Brandon waved goodbye, then dashed to his beat-up white Jetta. Soon, he was driving away amidst a clatter of noise.

Elara turned to Zion Fitzwilliam, and said sincerely, "Whether before or this ti, it’s thanks to you for helping . Thank you."

Zion Fitzwilliam smirked, "Just a thank you and that’s it?"

Elara, taking it as playful banter between good friends, laughed and said, "Then I’ll treat you to a al..."

Before she could finish, her phone rang. She took a look; it was a call from Yvette Somrs.

As soon as she answered, she heard Yvette’s urgent voice, "Elara, could you co back ho? I need to talk to you!"

Elara quickly asked, "What happened? Is sothing wrong with Dad?"

Yvette paused, then said exasperatedly, "There’s nothing wrong with your Dad! It’s about Aidan! Just co back quickly, I can’t explain over the phone, I’ll tell you in person!"

"Alright."

Elara ended the call and apologetically said to Zion Fitzwilliam, "I need to head ho, I can’t treat you to dinner today. Let’s do it tomorrow."

Zion Fitzwilliam nodded, "It’s fine."

Elara hurriedly walked toward the bus stop. As soon as the bus arrived, she got on quickly.

Zion Fitzwilliam watched the direction she left in, pondered for a mont, and then called his assistant, "Check what’s happening with the Hale Family."

Half an hour later, Elara returned to her father’s ho. Yvette imdiately rushed to her, urgently asking, "Why did you just get here? Elara, you must help your brother this ti. You know Aidan is a good kid; he wouldn’t hit soone for no reason! Now the other kids’ parents are pressuring us for expulsion and demanding a huge compensation. They’re clearly blackmailing us!"

Aidan sat on the couch, playing with his phone, and impatiently shouted, "What’s the point of telling her!"

Yvette glared at him and said irritably, "Elara is more capable than you. Maybe she can think of a good way!"

Aidan raised his voice in displeasure, "I don’t need her help!"

"Shut up!"

Yvette quickly turned back to Elara, speaking soothingly, "You know your brother’s personality, Elara. He’s just temperantal, but he ans well. This ti he was truly set up. Can you see if you can reach out to Mason’s side and resolve this quickly?"

Elara frowned, "Auntie Yvette, Mason Jacobs and I are already divorced."

Yvette quickly responded, "I know, I know, but you’ve shared a life and feelings with him; surely he still has feelings for you, right? Plus, he was the one who cheated during the marriage, his fault. You left with nothing without making a fuss, surely he’d help you seeing how sensible you’ve been, right?"

Elara set her handbag down and asked, "Mason Jacobs won’t help us, Auntie Yvette. What exactly happened? Tell , maybe I can think of another way."

It was only then that Yvette recounted the entire situation in detail.

It turns out that Aidan had a mortal enemy at school; both were leaders of their respective small groups and had been at odds for a long ti.

The other student challenged Aidan to a fight to determine who would be the top dog, leading both groups.

This was the rule for those playing at social hierarchy in school, and Aidan agreed without hesitation, then won the fight.

Unexpectedly, the other student’s parents refused to let the matter go and demanded compensation from Aidan.

Yvette had already given them a hundred thousand, yet they were not satisfied and further demanded five hundred thousand.

If they didn’t get it, they would have Aidan expelled.

They had so influence in Kyros, and within just two days, Aidan had already been discharged from school, on the brink of expulsion.

Yvette was now in a panic and at a loss about what to do. Aidan was her everything; if he couldn’t even finish school, how would she continue to live?

After hearing the whole story, Elara hesitated, "Why don’t I arrange a eting with the other student’s parents to see if there’s still any room for negotiation?"

Aidan looked up from his ga and irritably said, "Who do you think you are, trying to set up a eting? You think you’re that important?"

Yvette imdiately slapped him, "Shut up!"

Elara had finally agreed to handle the matter, and her foolish son was still trying to stir up trouble! Couldn’t he think for a mont? Even if things with Mason didn’t work out, Elara had spent two years with the Jacobs Family. Her connections from back then could be useful. Maybe it could solve the problem!

The botherso boy was just pushing people away!

Elara never really liked Aidan; if she weren’t worried that Yvette would be so stressed about this and wouldn’t be able to take care of her father, she really wouldn’t want to deal with Aidan.

So, she ignored Aidan’s provocation and said to Yvette, "Auntie Yvette, give the contact information for the other student’s parents, and I’ll call them."

Yvette quickly took out her phone, "Here it is."

Elara dialed the number from Yvette’s phone, and it was quickly answered. A gentle female voice ca through the line, "Hello."
