Miles Morgan kept surveillance at Orlaine Manor all night, the basent’s monitoring was live, and he had the unfortunate privilege of witnessing the entire process of a deranged murderer’s torture.

Patrick Doyle, from initial begging, finally fell into despair, losing his life at Mason Jacobs’ hands as dawn approached.

At eight in the morning, Mason Jacobs, looking well put together, erged from the manor and drove away.

Miles Morgan followed in his car, while another bodyguard continued to stake out outside Orlaine Manor.

Mason Jacobs seed unaware of his destination. Miles simply saw him make a phone call and then drove unceasingly forward for over two hours.

Leaving Northgarde, on a small road, Mason finally stopped.

He got out of the car, stood by the utility pole for a while, smoked two cigarettes, and then left.

After he left, Miles got out to have a look. There was nothing special about this place, but he rembered that the car accident involving Miss Hale’s parents seed to be here.

What did Mason Jacobs an by this? Was he here to nostalgically recall one of his past success stories?

Miles shrugged, took out his phone, and reported his progress.

Which was none.

He had hoped today to shadow Mason Jacobs in secret and uncover so secrets.

Unfortunately, he missed such a good opportunity.

On the other end of the phone, Zion Fitzwilliam wasn’t surprised, "He used to have his assistant handle things. That assistant with the last na Wood has been with him for many years. Almost every evil deed he’s done, Wood has cleaned up. The bodyguard tracking Wood hasn’t reported back yet, wait and see."

Miles could only respond in disappointnt, "Yes."

After a slight hesitation, he asked, "President Fitzwilliam, should we inform Kylie Dalton about Patrick Doyle being killed by Mason Jacobs?"

Zion Fitzwilliam smiled faintly, "It has already been arranged."

Miles sucked in a breath of cold air, the very thing he had just thought of had already been arranged by Fitzwilliam, there was like an Einstein-sized gap between them.

Fitzwilliam’s mind, it seed, was sothing he couldn’t match in a lifeti.

But then again, he hadn’t seen anyone who could compare with Fitzwilliam, so it was Fitzwilliam being too capable, not that his intelligence was low. At least, he was still working alongside Fitzwilliam, more or less, he was close to Fitzwilliam’s level.

Zion Fitzwilliam had no idea that his young assistant had ntally gotten to that point, and instructed, "You co back first, you worked hard last night, today you get a day off, take a good rest."

Miles was a bit embarrassed, "It wasn’t hard at all."

Aside from getting a video, he hadn’t captured anything.

anwhile, at the Jacobs household.

Kylie Dalton watched the video on her phone, and couldn’t help but tremble.

The video ca from an anonymous email, it was a five-second clip from a surveillance cara near The Everwill Club, yet it drained her in cold sweat.

Because in the video, her beloved college student was being pushed into a van by several familiar-looking figures, and the van drove away, and she was so familiar with that license plate number.

Those people were specifically kept by Mason Jacobs to handle unsavory deeds, and that van was also bought by Mason for ease of action.

She knew because three and a half years ago, on that rainy night, Mason had used these people, driving that van, to clean up after her!

Now, these sa people and this van were being used against her, targeting the person she loved the most!

Her son, knowing well how much she cared for Patrick Doyle, knowing they were in love, still went after Patrick.

In his heart, did she, as his mother, not even have the right to pursue a love of her own?

Kylie Dalton’s fingers trembled as she called Mason Jacobs.

The first few calls were hung up, but Kylie persistently continued, and the other side finally answered out of impatience, "Mom, I’m in a eting."

Kylie’s face was grim, her voice trembling slightly, "Where did you take Doyle? Mason, you promised you wouldn’t touch Doyle, how could you lie to ?"

Mason said, "Hold on."

Soon there was the sound of shuffling, as if walking out.

After a dozen seconds, Mason spoke again, his tone resigned, "Mom, I didn’t touch him, who told you I did?"

Every ti after venting, he would feel incredibly calm, no matter how troubleso the situation, he could remain serene, it generally lasted about three days.

It was only the first day today, so he was very patient, dealing with Kylie’s questioning and accusations.

Kylie, trembling with anger, "You’re still denying it, you’re still denying it even now? Do I have to throw the surveillance footage in your face before you admit it? You obviously had soone kidnap Doyle, where did you take him? Did you hurt him?"

Mason caught the key word, his brow furrowing involuntarily, and asked, "Surveillance? What surveillance?"

"Soone sent surveillance footage, where your people loaded Doyle into the van, right by the roadside!" Kylie’s heart felt like it was being cut, both anxious and angry, "Mason, I know everything now, don’t say you didn’t! Just give Doyle back to , and I won’t hold these things against you."

Mason’s tone was innocent, "Mom, as I said, I didn’t touch him, maybe soone said sothing to you? I’ve already told you, don’t believe everything those people out there say, they’re trying to drive a wedge between us; who knows if that video is fake?"

Kylie paused, "Fake?"

"Yeah, with technology so advanced now, it’s easy to make fake videos with AI to the point of being indistinguishable from the real thing. Mom, you really wronged , I didn’t do anything, your affection for that student doesn’t bother ."

Kylie seed a bit convinced, uncertainly saying, "Really?"

Mason sighed with a smile, "Of course it’s true, why would I lie to you? Mom, if there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up first, I’m still in a eting."

Kylie could only agree, "Alright, go ahead with your eting, but if you have ti, have soone find Doyle’s whereabouts, I’m really worried about him."

Mason said, "Okay."

After hanging up, Kylie sat on the couch, looking at the video on her phone, it really did look too real, if it was fake, then it was too convincing.

Could Mason indeed not have lied to her, was soone trying to divide them as mother and son?

Kylie hadn’t figured things out when Rosalind Jacobs ca storming in angrily from outside, kicking off her high heels hard and throwing her bag and coat aside.

The maids hurried over to tidy up, while Kylie disapprovingly looked at her, scolding, "How many tis have I told you? Be elegant, be proper! This is how a lady from a prestigious family should behave! Look at how you just acted, you have no idea how people are going to laugh!"

Rosalind didn’t care, "Let them laugh if they want, am I afraid? I’m already a joke anyway!"

Kylie frowned at her, "What’s wrong with you? Did sothing happen outside?"

She had never seen her daughter so upset.

Rosalind accepted the fruit tea handed by a maid, took a sip, and snorted coldly, "Guess why Owen Grayson broke off the engagent with ?"

Kylie Dalton frowned and asked, "Is it because he fell in love with soone else?"

Either he found a better option, or the Grayson Family simply changed their minds.

But the Grayson Family is not so small household; their word is worth its weight in gold, so they wouldn’t just cancel the engagent casually.

Therefore, the problem must lie with Owen Grayson.

Seeing her daughter willing to talk, Kylie Dalton hurriedly asked, "What’s going on? Speak up, stop keeping your mom in suspense!"

"I’m not keeping you in suspense, I’m just furious!" Rosalind slamd the glass of water on the table, her anger palpable, "Owen has fallen for soone else!"

"I knew it," Kylie Dalton sighed, "The initiative is in their hands. What else can we do? Unless you have the confidence to win Owen back from that woman, there’s no other choice."

She had always encouraged Rosalind to get close to the Grayson Family and think of ways to win Owen back. But Rosalind was unwilling, feeling that it would insult her dignity.

In Kylie’s opinion, what’s the big deal about dignity? Achieving the goal is all that matters. Just like how she captured the father of her children; regardless of the state of their marriage, she at least succeeded in having a son and a daughter and secured her position in the Jacobs Family.

Initially, she didn’t want Rosalind to live such a life again, but Rosalind insisted on the engagent. Now that it’s off, and she’s not proactively fighting for it, Kylie is frustrated watching it all unfold.

Rosalind didn’t notice Kylie’s impatient look. Her eyes were dark and her words bitten out through gritted teeth, "The woman Owen likes is a friend of Elara’s, that Esther Carter."

Kylie paused, slowly sat up straight, and said, "What did you say? Owen was lured away by Elara’s friend?"

"Yes," Rosalind forced a smile that was more like a grimace, her voice icy, "Mom, do you believe this wasn’t preditated?"

Kylie shook her head, her voice a bit gloomy, "How could that be an accident? It must be Elara’s way of getting revenge on us. Upon learning that you were marrying Owen, she sent her friend to sabotage it, and now it’s obvious she succeeded."

Kylie’s tone was sharp. Rosalind was silent for a second before saying, "Mom, I can’t allow this to happen."

Who does Elara think she is to dare plot against her?

Just because she married a good man, does she think it’s a big deal? Does she really think soone like Zion Fitzwilliam would honestly and sincerely love her?

It’s just a temporary thrill. Sooner or later, Zion Fitzwilliam will get bored and toss Elara aside like a rag.

Kylie asked, "What do you want to do?"

Rosalind replied coldly, "I want Elara to pay the price."

Zion Fitzwilliam has her guarded closely, but it’s not like there aren’t other weak spots.

Unexpectedly, Kylie scoffed at her intent, "Foolish! The Jacobs Family has already offended Elara enough, and you still want to stir things up! Even if Elara did deliberately retaliate against you, you can’t go after her. Otherwise, do you still want the company? Do you still want your title as the Jacobs Family’s young lady?"

After a pause, she continued, "Your priority now is to win Owen back! n like what they like; as long as you humbly coax him, he will definitely co back."

Rosalind bit her lip.

"I’m not willing to accept it."

Kylie snorted, "So what if you’re unwilling? The situation is more powerful than you are. What can you do? On one hand, you have a small seed that might explode, and on the other, a big waterlon like the Grayson Family—which one will you choose?"

Rosalind didn’t say anything and turned to go upstairs.

Kylie cursed in frustration, "Idiot, how could I give birth to such a foolish thing!"

Upstairs, the more Rosalind thought, the angrier she beca. She understood what her mother said, but she really didn’t know how to win Owen back. She’s used all her tricks, lowered herself to serve him, yet he sneered at her efforts.

Her mother thought things were too simple; Owen was definitely not going to turn back.

Since the outco was already decided, why should she bother trying to salvage it? It’s better to savor her revenge instead.

If Elara dares to bully her, she’s not one to be trifled with either!

But since she can’t touch Elara directly, how should she let Elara learn a lesson without it being traced back to her by Zion Fitzwilliam?

As Rosalind pondered this, a light suddenly dawned in her eyes.

She had figured it out!

On the other side, Zion Fitzwilliam also made significant progress in tailing Mason Jacobs.

Shortly after Mason left in the morning, Special Assistant Wood appeared with a group, as usual, moving the body from the basent into a car before driving away.

Zion Fitzwilliam’s bodyguards followed them discreetly.

They indeed found where Mason disposed of the body.

It wasn’t in the city; it was in the suburbs. Northgarde’s suburbs still had rural areas, and even farming land, where Mason surprisingly owned a few acres.

Special Assistant Wood parked the car by the roadside, directing people to dig a large pit in the ground.

Being winter, there were few people around, and no one saw this scene.

Once the pit was dug, Wood had Patrick Doyle’s body thrown inside.

After covering it with soil, they drove away.

The bodyguards took photos of the scene and sent them to Zion Fitzwilliam.

Zion quickly replied, "Well done, go rest now."

Having completed their task, the bodyguards drove off.

In the office, Zion was looking thoughtfully at the pictures sent by his bodyguards.

After a while, he printed out this picture and placed it in a mind map folder specially made for Mason Jacobs.

Now, the way Mason dealt with the body had been uncovered. He had evidence of his illegal and abusive actions, leaving only one question.

What is his motive? What is he really after?

Killing is unlike other cris; it’s a matter of life and death. It’s unlikely Mason kills for sheer amusent, right?

Zion organized the current information and sent it to a friend at the police station, "Is this enough to convict him?"

The response ca quickly, "Not quite. There’s been a sudden crackdown lately. While your evidence is solid, if Mason retracts his confession, he might still escape bla."

Zion stared intently at the words, hesitating to send another ssage.

He’s been too hasty, it seems like all his patience has been reserved for Elara lately, making him restless with everything else, especially matters concerning her.

This can’t continue; it’ll lead to trouble if it does.

Zion set down his phone, grabbed the folder, and turned to leave.
