When the plot-skips players into the game world Chapter 705
Chapter 705: Chapter 93 Candle Master Express, Mission Accomplished Chapter 705: Chapter 93 Candle Master Express, Mission Accomplished Aiwass handed over the intelligence he had gathered to Cardinal Matilda.
“Mr.
Red Wine…
I don’t have much of an impression of him.”
Cardinal Matilda pondered for a mont and then answered, “He’s likely not soone who is regularly resident in the Holy Nation.
Of course, it’s also possible he goes by a different na when he’s active in the Holy Nation.”
“Is there any way to look into this?
After all, this matter might be related to Bear Celestial Marshal.”
Aiwass pressed.
Cardinal Matilda said with a smile, “There certainly is a way.
...
Even though His Holiness the Pope has fallen into sleep, it’s not like we’ve lost control of the Holy Nation because of that.
“However, I definitely can’t help you look into this.
The Thirteenth Ring’s main responsibility is to guard and preserve these Amberficate life statues, as well as to protect the cultural specins here.
Actually, accompanying you on a trip earlier was already against the rules, a short ti is not a big problem, but I definitely can’t join you to investigate this matter.”
With that, she extended her finger and drew a window on the nearby wall.
She then peeled off a piece of bark from above.
Gently touching the wall, she healed and restored it back to its original state.
Matilda wrote on the bark with her fingertip.
Blue luminescence flowed over it, condensing into rows of Elf script.
“All done.”
She handed over the rolled bark scroll to Aiwass with a smile, “I wrote you a letter of introduction.”
“A letter of introduction?”
“Yes.
If you want to find soone, it’s better to make a trip to the Eleventh Ring.”
Matilda said, “That’s where the Central Observatory is located.
From there, you can see the entire view from the First Ring to the Twenty-First Ring.
I’ve written a letter of introduction to Cardinal Loki, who is responsible for that place.”
“…Cardinal Loki?”
Aiwass heard a na that seed sowhat familiar.
Matilda nodded, “That’s the one I ntioned to you before…
the leader of the Controlled Fla.”
“Is it okay to contact him?”
Aiwass frowned slightly, a bit concerned, “He and Her Highness the Holy Maiden…”
…Seed to have so conflicts?
No, to say “so conflicts” was an understatent—he was clearly Grey’s rival.
Although the current number of mbers in the Controlled Fla wasn’t overwhelmingly dominant, if Grey’s Amberfication were to be leaked, Cardinal Loki, who advocated “professionalization reform,” could imdiately beco a strong contender for the papal seat.
“There should be no problem.”
Matilda thought for a mont, then with so hesitation, shook her head, “Despite the current uproar caused by the Controlled Fla…
after all, Loki is still a Cardinal Archbishop.”
—At least a Transcendent of the Fifth Power Level on the Path of Devotion, he must have a sufficiently pure heart of Dedication.
And this matter involves the Archbishop’s curse, as well as human trafficking and international kidnapping.
Even a direct relative of the person involved has co forward; according to Elf character, this matter cannot be ignored.
Elves have such a nature, very contradictory.
They tend to stay away from trouble, but at the sa ti, they’re not afraid of it.
They usually avoid trouble if they can.
But if approached with sincere and devout request, they are very likely to help to the end.
After all, Elves have long lifespans, a weak sense of ti, and generally nothing pressing to do.
So Elves might even pursue a matter for twenty to thirty years.
“Moreover, he is now a professional.
Reaching the Fifth Power Level in the professional system has a great impact on the spirit.
Even if Cardinal Loki wasn’t reliable before, by now he would have beco sufficiently reliable.”
“…Previously unreliable?”
Aiwass keenly tasted the information in Matilda’s words, “What do you an by that?”
He was quite interested in this Cardinal Archbishop whose na gave off an ominous feeling—especially since he knew that the Controlled Fla was the main enemy in this version, the feeling beca even more apparent.
Upon hearing this, Matilda imdiately shook her head seriously, “You shouldn’t involve yourself in that.”
“Is it a matter of insufficient authority?” Aiwass guessed why Matilda had this attitude.
“Exactly.
If you have the opportunity to beco a Cardinal Archbishop, you will learn of this matter.”
Matilda said this, her lips curling slightly upward, “But first, you need to master Advanced Divine Arts.
That is the threshold for becoming a Cardinal…
Without knowing Advanced Divine Arts, even at the Fifth Power Level, you can’t beco a Cardinal.”
“I will work hard.”
Aiwass nodded modestly.
For Aiwass, mastering Advanced Divine Arts wouldn’t be too difficult.
Aiwass had accumulated enough unrestricted experience over ti specifically to swiftly master Advanced Divine Arts.
After leaving, he didn’t imdiately proceed to the Eleventh Ring but first returned to the Fifth Ring, to his own residence.
The trolls who were transporting goods had already left…
Their work was busy, having to move on to the next delivery as soon as one was completed.
There was no ti to dally in between, and their goblin masters did not permit them to delay.
Although within the Holy Nation, the use of whips for punishnt was not allowed, the goblins had long ceased to require such clumsy and primitive training techniques.
They had an abundance of managent skills far more effective than whips.
After Aiwass returned ho, the first thing he did was to tidy up the altar in the room.
He placed the two books he bought for Isabel on it.
Then he donned his mitre and lit the candles.
Aiwass raised the Coronet Scepter solemnly and chanted:
“I solemnly call upon you, exalted thief of fire!
“God of the sacred number three, The God of Thorns Bound, The God Who Burns Body and Pursues Darkness—the Stag God of the Candle!”
As golden-red brilliance flared in Aiwass’s pupils, a scorching halo suddenly appeared above his head.
The crimson flas swirled into a crown of thorns, thus abbreviating the prayer.
It wasn’t out of disrespect but because igniting the holy fire and raising the crown of thorns was, in itself, a praise to the Candle Master.
“I beseech you to descend into the midst of candle fla!
“Let the fire with wings co before , to convey my thoughts and gifts afar; I offer my blood and vow this blood is shed for the benefit of others.
Please, Angel Envoy of the Candle Master, answer —”
As Aiwass chanted, he suddenly felt dizzy.
The feeling of being watched by sothing terrifying made his spine tingle.
The palm of his left hand suddenly split open, and his blood floated in mid-air like gems.
The next mont, Aiwass’s left and right eyes saw completely different scenes—
His left eye saw the altar’s candle fla suddenly began to flicker on its own, turning into a vigorously trembling pure white fla; whereas his right eye saw the fla solidify into a vertical black ring.
A strange creature flew out from it.
It looked like a small beast but it was unclear exactly what animal it was.
It had slender limbs that looked a bit like a pure white fawn or pony, but it was two-headed.
Atop its head was a small, luminous transparent horn, while its body was both pure as stone and clear as jade.
A pair of bright red eyes, as lustrous as gems and without any visible sclera—like those of a toy bear—stared at Aiwass.
From its back spread a pair of fla butterfly wings, allowing it to float in the air.
Despite its cute appearance, it was a ssenger of the Candle Master—it was called the fla with wings.
Aiwass’s left eye saw a fla split from the candle fla, extending backward into a “V” shape.
It landed on the altar, absorbed the droplets of blood in the air, and the two books began to burn.
Soon, the two books burned into nothingness.
Not even ashes remained.
In Aiwass’s other vision, however, he saw the “fla with wings” step onto the altar.
The blood floating in the air turned into red luminescence.
The two books were enveloped by the light and dematerialized, turning transparent, and fell into the Dream Realm.
Aiwass didn’t worry but nodded respectfully and said, “Please deliver it to Bishop Mathers at the Cathedral of Candle Master on Avalon Glass Island.”
After that, the pure white fla elongated—it was the little creature jumping onto the candle.
It was a very special stance: Only one hoof stood on the fla, while the other three hung in mid-air.
It seed to be saying sothing, but Aiwass was still unable to hear its voice.
He could only see it tilting its head towards him, as if urging sothing.
Usually, this would be the ti to destroy items used in a ceremony.
But this was a Dedication Prayer, and there were no such items needed.
So Aiwass extended his pierced left hand over to it.
The little creature stuck out its tongue, gently lapping at Aiwass’s wound.
The injury on Aiwass’s palm healed instantly, and waves of warmth flowed through his body.
As Aiwass gently rotated his left hand, the creature’s tongue moved from his palm to his fingers, then to the back of his hand, as if washing Aiwass’s hand.
And from Aiwass’s normal vision, he only saw the candle fla cleansing the wound on his hand.
Aiwass lightly touched his heart, mouth, and forehead with his left hand in turn.
“Thank you for coming, fla with wings,” Aiwass said solemnly to the creature before him, “I shall be like the candle fla, forever burning bright.”
The little creature’s face showed a happy smile, tilting its head and making sounds that Aiwass couldn’t hear.
At the sa ti, the fla flickered three tis.
The next mont, it stretched and disappeared like foam—
Subsequently, the firelight reverted to its original color and shape.
Aiwass’s split vision also returned to normal.
“…
So the sacrificed vision allows one to see the Angel Envoy projected from the Dream Realm?”
Aiwass touched his eyes, murmuring to himself.
This was the first ti he had actually seen the “fla with wings” in its true form.
In the classroom for Prayer Arts, the “fla with wings” that was summoned should be a “V”-shaped trailing fla.
He quickly cald down, preparing to grab so wine.
He was going to drop by Morgan’s Wonder House in a bit, to tell her about the things he had sent to Isabel—reminding her to personally go to the Cathedral of Candle Master first thing in the morning to “pick up the delivery.”
