When the plot-skips players into the game world Chapter 1204: 508: The Night of Advancement with the Highest
Chapter 1204: Chapter 508: The Night of Advancent with the Highest Survival Rate
From the latter half of the night, Aiwass was busy until dawn.
This ti, due to the surging atmosphere of Transcendence, many people decided to ascend temporarily.
Many people were unprepared and hastily chose to ascend. As a result, many were injured, and Aiwass’s healing ability beca crucial.
However, because of this, these people forcibly “paved the way” for quite a number of others!
Starting from two in the morning, the Supervisory Court began to investigate how many newly ascended to the Fourth Power Level and Fifth Power Level within Avalon had completed their ascension—Avalon financially supports those at the Fourth Power Level to ensure that future Fifth Power Levels erge from among them.
— Now, this foresighted planning is finally coming into play.
First were Lily and Yulia—unsurprisingly, both successfully completed their ascension. The power they gained from the Nurturing Skill was overwhelmingly strong at their energy levels…not to ntion that many unprepared weaklings infiltrated this ascension ritual. Even the Night Fiends and Defiant Fla Butterflies with rely half strength were a dinsion-reducing blow to these Fourth Level and Third Level Transcendents.
As Aiwass anticipated, Yulia had long attracted the attention of the Hourglass due to her invention. During the ascension ritual, the Hourglass was watching her. Upon completing her ascension, she conveniently transitioned into a Pioneer.
— It was then she learned from the Hourglass that she had t the criteria to beco a Pioneer as soon as she completed the difference engine.
And she also learned so sowhat saddening news…
Babbage failed to beco an Angel Envoy of the Hourglass.
In other words, Babbage’s soul had already been shattered.
The Hourglass indeed appreciated his talent, but valued fairness more. Though Babbage had exceptional talent, he lacked Balance in his knowledge and did not achieve real results; his level as a Transcendent was not high enough. In essence, he had not—or did not have the chance to—gain recognition from the Source River.
Babbage’s talent did not get realized before he prematurely passed away.
According to the Hourglass’s rules for selecting an Angel Envoy, a soul that only possesses talent but lacks results cannot beco its Angel Envoy.
There are too many geniuses in this world, and even more people with talent. Choosing just the talented equates to selecting the wise—however, the path of Balance is not the path of Wisdom, thus the Hourglass’s judgnt leans more towards “results”.
After all, it is half scholar and half rchant Pillar God. With a rchant’s aspects, the Hourglass cares more about realistic matters.
As per the Hourglass’s explanation to Yulia, if a 100-point genius provided a hypothesis, a 90-point genius drew schematics and made a prototype, an 80-point skilled person fully realized it according to the schematics, and a 70-point ordinary person completed the promotion and comrcialization…in its view, the achievents of the third person are equivalent to the fourth person and greater than the second person. The second person is much greater than the first person.
The Hourglass does not accept the “genius-nad placeholder”.
Even if the fourth person doesn’t actually understand academics… perhaps the birth of this invention ca from his sponsorship or from his managent and coordination of the team; its promotion and recognition were due to the fourth person’s societal relations and political status clearing the hurdles—thus, the Hourglass considers this person equally important to the invention.
The Hourglass is a God that only looks at results. Here there is only reality, no dreams.
Trying to fool the Hourglass is impossible—this invention cannot give birth to four Angel Envoys, so even though the Hourglass values the third and fourth ones more, by the order of ti, the first and second might die first.
Whosoever dies first begins to proceed here. If they die in order, the Hourglass will first remove the first person, then assess whether the second is qualified to be an Angel Envoy; if the second is not, it falls subsequently to the third. Once an Angel Envoy is created because of the invention, any subsequent optimizations and promotions will no longer birth a new Angel Envoy.
Yulia, as a Pioneer, has beco the Hourglass’s Earthbound Apostle.
She received encouragent from the Hourglass—or rather, strict supervision.
— Now with Babbage’s manuscripts, Yulia is responsible for implenting Mr. Babbage’s hypotheses, concepts, and drawings. Otherwise, it would seem as if this knowledge has fallen into a void. If soone else completes the invention, the Hourglass will also unhesitatingly attribute the achievents to whoever accomplished it.
After all, everyone’s situation is quite similar.
Sotis, soone’s conjecture is only a few years or even just a few months premature.
Many inventions actually ca as ideas to many people simultaneously… like bicycles, caras, or subways.
However, so people stop at the conceptual stage, so begin slow research; so craft “useless inventions”, while others sell the primitive patent and start production imdiately—the Hourglass does not look at “who first invented it” nor at “who acquired the patent”, but at who ultimately successfully promoted it.
On the other hand, Selene failed her ascension…she encountered the Great Sage’s ritual, both foreseeable and unexpected.
Indeed, Selene isn’t actually that dull. After all, she’s a fragnt severed from Lily; albeit her chaotic nature, there really wouldn’t be much difference.
