Chapter 1151: Chapter 467: Sacrifice of the Ring of Ouroboros_3

He held little fondness for this highly respected old woman.

In Walter’s view, had it not been for Lady Marasia’s weakness and constant retreat, the Goblins would never have gained control over the economic lifeline of Star Antimony. Now that Star Antimony is falling apart, she’s surely responsible for at least a third of the bla!

As for him, he was different—if not for him, Star Antimony would’ve long been destroyed by those people under the Red Chancellor!

Thus, Master Walter emphasized: “Lady Marasia, face reality! Transcenders are all selfish—I’m not afraid to tell you, if the four of us team up to catch soone, I would definitely stand at the back. And I know everyone else would make the sa choice.”

“Everyone only thinks of themselves. Under such circumstances, true collaboration is impossible. Rather than worrying about backstabbing later, why not unite now to do sothing bad? With a target everyone hates, at least we can find solidarity.”

As he spoke, his deep purple pupils shifted toward Miss Sprengel: “I think at tis like this, it’s better to follow the side with more people—Miss Sprengel, what do you think?”

“I think what you’ve said makes perfect sense.”

Miss Sprengel nodded in affirmation.

The intense surge of elation after receiving the beauty’s acknowledgnt caused Walter, whose senses were already teetering on the edge of delirium, to grow even more exhilarated.

He felt as if he had consud alcohol, his vision turning erratic and unsteady.

He staggered and collapsed onto a chair.

Everything before him began to warp, stretching and distancing, hues shifting wildly. It was as if he had ingested poisonous mushrooms…

…Poisonous mushrooms? Poisoning?

Was it the wine? Was there… poison in the wine?

His pupils suddenly contracted.

But in the next mont, the chair underneath him abruptly lit up with intricate arrays, locking him firmly in place!

“You acted a bit early, Dr. Levique.”

Within his warped hallucinations, Miss Sprengel’s fragnted voice echoed.

Walter felt his head spinning, his thoughts nearly frozen.

“Cough, cough, cough… I just… cough… I was too angry.”

Dr. Levique struggled to push his wheelchair out from the shadows of the corner.

His voice was frail and feeble, interrupted repeatedly by fits of coughing.

He seed even more gravely ill than during the last eting.

Miss Sprengel stepped forward to help push Dr. Levique’s wheelchair.

Dr. Levique sighed in relief, collapsing into his wheelchair with exhaustion, breathing heavily as though working a bellows.

His eyes burned with near-rage—he glared directly at Master Walter, whose skin had already turned a dark purple-black.

“You completely… betrayed my trust!”

Dr. Levique forced each word out: “You have no idea how much trust I placed in you!”

Lady Marasia let out a sigh: “I gave you a chance, Master Walter. I warned you twice… if you won’t listen, so be it.”

But Master Walter’s mind was no longer capable of coherent thought.

He could only stare wide-eyed at the trio before him, gasping like a fish on the verge of drowning.

Yet even in this state, he understood the truth of the situation—

Exactly as he had suspected, among the four of them, one person had to be sacrificed.

But the “sacrifice” chosen by Miss Sprengel wasn’t “Dr. Levique”; it was him!

Clearly, Dr. Levique had never trusted in Walter’s loyalty from the start.

That’s why Miss Sprengel orchestrated this act, illustrating her own ruthlessness to Dr. Levique!

Just as Walter himself had said—

“Rather than worrying about backstabbing later, why not unite now to do sothing bad? With a target everyone hates, the rest will naturally unify.”

You dare look down on —

Master Walter ground his teeth in fury.

Fortunately, the ritual would take a long ti yet. He still had a chance to escape…

Once the toxin in his system dissipated, he would summon his Demon Incarnation—

Even if he couldn’t break free, he would at least drag them down into destruction alongside him!

If you won’t let live peacefully, then no one else deserves peace!

Just as they’d foretold, the danger of “capturing a Transcender alive” was about to co true—he would show them the price of underestimating him…

But at that mont, Master Walter saw Miss Sprengel begin setting up the ritual.

He snapped awake instantly, even his muddled thoughts seeming to regain a trace of clarity.

…No way?

“You want to… do it now…?”

Master Walter opened his mouth, trying to force out garbled words through his swollen throat.

Miss Sprengel, however, looked at him with a faint smirk.

“You desire , don’t you?”

She chuckled sweetly: “You’ll get what you want very soon… very soon.”

“Just wait a mont longer… my master.”
