When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster Chapter 916: Chased Away Again
Based on her intuition, no one lived in those houses, but they were maintained by soone.
As Gia stepped closer, she walked along the green brick path and ascended the steps. For a fleeting mont, like a mory resurfacing, she was sure she had been here before.
Moreover, she had been inside this house, as if she had lived here in the past.
With this familiar feeling, she peered inside through the window and saw beams made of cloudtop sandalwood, lamps of crystal jade, and curtains of pearls.
Inside, it was clean and tidy, the layout was too familiar, just as she rembered.
It seed soone lived there, yet it also seed as if no one did; lacking the air of habitation, it was nevertheless spotless.
"Miss Gia."
She turned at the sound to see Lake approaching with a smile, walking briskly.
"Lake." The girl turned around and greeted her as well.
Lake’s tone had no bla, just a kind reminder, "You can’t go inside this house, hurry along and take a walk over there!" Saying that, she took hold of her arm.
"Is this Miss Xavier’s room?" Gia asked while leaving with her, trying to guess.
"Yes, and no," Lake linked arms with her and led her away. "The clothes that were delivered earlier, you should try them on. If they don’t fit, there’s ti to alter them." This also served to change the subject.
After several batches, there wasn’t a single garnt that didn’t fit; the Xavier Family’s tailor must be exceptional.
In any case, Lake led her away from the area, and the clever Gia understood sothing: that place was off-limits, perhaps forbidden.
But in her mory, she was so familiar with it, how could that be?
She surveyed her surroundings, feeling she had lived here, it was definitely not her first visit.
But this sense of familiarity, long lost, was sothing no one would likely believe if she spoke of it, right?
At this mont, not far away, Rhiannon Xavier was walking over, her gaze falling on Gia as she approached.
Watching Gia always smile and interact with others with warmth and kindness, like a gentle spring breeze, always made her envious.
Is she trying to get along with everyone in the manor? Winning everyone over?
Seeing Rhiannon walking over, Gia, who was about to return to her room, stopped in her tracks. The two locked eyes, and Rhiannon quickly stood in front of her.
"Good day, Miss," Lake hurriedly greeted her.
Rhiannon looked at her with a smile, "You go on inside and get busy, I’ll take a stroll with Miss Gia."
"Sure, Miss." Lake smiled sweetly, bowing before turning to leave.
Once Lake left, Rhiannon refocused on Gia, "Why didn’t you take the initiative to greet ? Do you really think of yourself as a Xavier Family lady? Do you think you can stand on equal footing with ?"
"I wouldn’t dare." Gia snapped back to reality, quickly curtsying, "Good day, Miss Xavier." Her tone was sincere.
"Gia?" she mused over the na with a smile, "My mother gave you that na?" Being the second girl allowed to adopt the family na, how could she not feel threatened?
The girl offered no reply, her expression warm and kind, with no intention of offending her.
Rhiannon scrutinized her, "You look well-rested; have you recovered physically? Your mory hasn’t returned, but does it matter? You’re alive, aren’t you? With arms and legs intact, you can get a job and support yourself, can’t you?"
Indeed, this woman was once again urging her to leave.
Gia stood before her, eting her gaze as she continued——
"Leave here. Stay too long and you won’t want to go, and it’ll be easy to lose yourself. You need to understand, everything about the Xavier Family has nothing to do with you." Her tone carried a hint of superiority.
"Grandfather gave a new prescription, he said I’ll regain my mory soon, I just need to finish half a course." The girl softly spoke, hoping to buy herself so ti.
Rhiannon was imdiately displeased upon hearing this, "You call the old man grandfather? Who told you to address him that way? You’re good at cozying up to others, aren’t you? Who do you think is your grandfather? He’s a revered doctor! A distinguished guest of the Xavier Family!"
