Actually, his father’s words put a certain amount of pressure on Chase Fletcher, and he didn’t want Rachel Sherman to bear any of it.

There was nothing wrong with the divorce, and it certainly wasn’t her fault. His parents were traditional in their thinking, which had nothing at all to do with her.

So, sipping his tea in silence, he didn’t respond to his father’s words.

Mr. Fletcher turned his gaze to his son, his tone calm but his attitude firm—

"Within a week, bring her back. If you can’t, then we’ll have to go visit her ourselves."

There was an undertone of threat in those words.

Chase Fletcher rely frowned slightly, still not giving any response.

He turned slightly, gently clinked his teacup against his father’s, then tilted his head back to drink the tea before setting down the cup and getting up to leave.

This action left his father a bit dumbfounded.

After all these days, The Lancaster Family finally had so good news.

Eliza Hayes’s back injury had mostly healed; the stitches had been removed a couple of days ago, and after using the scar removal cream personally developed by her daughter-in-law Faye Turner, there were no more marks to be seen today.

"Mom, this dicine works great. Let take a picture to show you." After applying the dicine once more, Faye took out her phone and snapped a picture of the injury.

When she showed it to Eliza Hayes, she was astonished, "It’s this good? You can’t see any scars at all. You should apply for a patent for this dicine!"

"A good dicine isn’t necessarily a good product." Faye smiled and then helped her button up her clothes. "Adrian has sothing to discuss with you. I’ll go call him."

With that, she turned and left.

Sitting in front of the vanity mirror, Eliza Hayes turned her gaze at the sound, watching her daughter-in-law’s departing figure with anticipation and skepticism.

Her son was looking for her? What could it be about?

It was almost alti; wouldn’t they et downstairs soon?

Because of this need for a private eting, she felt inexplicably a bit nervous and uneasy.

Soon, the open bedroom door was knocked upon.

The middle-aged woman saw her son appear at the door with a smile on her face, "Co in."

Adrian Lancaster was wearing a white shirt today; he looked vibrant, and ever since becoming a father, he seed even taller and more handso.

The contours of his face could almost be described as perfect, outshining all celebrities in the entertainnt industry.

Taking long strides inside, the mature and steady charm he exuded was just like Caleb in his younger days.

"Adrian." She stood up, smiling as she initiated the conversation, still sowhat reserved in front of her son, feeling guilty for past events.

Adrian Lancaster could sense his mother’s cautiousness. Influenced by Faye Turner, he had long since forgiven the past.

So whenever he saw his mother, he made an effort to tone down his aura, showing her the gentlest side of himself.

"Mom, I have a letter for you from Claire Keller. I’ve had it for a while, waiting for you to be in better health before giving it to you."

As soon as Adrian Lancaster finished speaking, he handed it over to her, adding, "I haven’t read the contents of this letter."

"Claire Keller?" Eliza Hayes was surprised. The na was both unfamiliar and familiar, a sensitive existence buried deep in her mory.

"Why would she write a letter out of the blue?" The middle-aged woman’s eyelashes trembled as she looked up at him.

Adrian Lancaster suddenly felt a pang of sadness in his heart. This secret... couldn’t be kept hidden anymore.

So he could only tell his mother—

"Twenty years ago, it was Claire Keller who took Dad away."

Eliza Hayes’s smile froze on her face, just staring at her son, her eyes losing focus in an instant, as if thunderstruck!
