At dusk, in a villa nestled by the mountains and water.

The place was still as guarded as it was at the start, with Adrian Lancaster’s n on duty everywhere.

Other than Adrian and Faye Turner, and their two most trusted drivers, no one else could get in.

Eliza Hayes hadn’t co back since she hit a wall that day.

Upstairs, in a spacious bedroom, Victor Peterson, neatly dressed, sat with his head tilted in a wheelchair, taking Caleb Lancaster’s place and earning respect.

A servant was helping him change the bedding and doing a thorough disinfection, an activity carried out about twice a week.

It was out of concern that his frail body might catch an infection and worsen his condition.

Since moving out, everyone’s care for him was ticulous.

The advanced dical equipnt at his bedside was sothing he’d never seen, supposedly unavailable in regular hospitals and extrely expensive, costing a fortune each ti it was operated.

dical staff were wiping them down, the screens displaying sets of data he didn’t understand.

"Buzz buzz buzz..."

A mosquito buzzed past Victor Peterson’s ear, landing on his cheek.

The mosquito’s needle-like mouth instantly pierced his skin, causing him noticeable pain and itchiness.

Instinctively, he wanted to raise his hand to slap that mosquito dead.

However... with so many people in the room, he restrained himself.

He would never make such a move in front of everyone’s eyes.

Yes, he was still full of wariness toward this world.

Terrified by the tornt from that insane woman Eliza Vance, because she was so cruel, Victor Peterson suspected there might still be spies placed by her here.

Over the past few days, he calmly analyzed that Faye Turner was the only one he could trust.

But the change in her attitude that day sparked countless doubts in Victor Peterson’s mind. Had she also discovered sothing?

But how could she know?

She wasn’t even a match for Eliza Vance.

If Faye Turner knew he was an imposter, why would she treat him then?

If she loved Adrian Lancaster, she would never be willing to heal him; she would only wish to kill him.

Faye Turner had said that when she ca to deliver the dicine again, as long as he drank it on schedule, he would recover in less than a month.

He believed her.

But when would she co by again?

Having pondered for so long, Victor Peterson also had things he wanted to tell her.

At the Lockwood Old Manor.

At dusk, the sun had already set, and a stunning afterglow reddened the clouds on the horizon.

The golden glow reflected in the courtyard, on the camphor trees, over the vintage architecture, and seeped through the windows, filling the lively dining room.

The old man had a hearty smile, his spirit vibrant, feeling very pleased to see Adrian and Faye back.

The air was filled with the rich aroma of fish soup, and besides two large bowls of fish soup boiled to a milky white, the dining table also held eight substantial dishes.

Having busied herself in the kitchen for two hours, Eliza Hayes took off her apron and washed her hands before coming out, and, with the children just seated, she personally served everyone fish soup.

"This crucian carp was caught by Grandpa in the river; it’s said to be most suitable for making soup, especially for pregnant won who should have more of it." She was bustling about. "Fish oil, calcium, and collagen in crucian carp are quite easy to dissolve."

"Here you go, Faye."

"Thank you, Mom." Faye Turner hurriedly reached out to take it.

"Let do it." She gently placed the bowl in front of her daughter-in-law, "Be careful, it’s hot."

"Thank you, Mom," the girl said again, feeling quite embarrassed.

Seated beside her, Adrian Lancaster still felt Eliza Hayes was acting, because the contrast was too striking.

However, he couldn’t guess her purpose.

"Here, Adrian, have so soup." When Eliza Hayes handed the fish soup to her son, she felt a bit burdened, as she was always extrely cautious.

Since his arrival, Adrian radiated an aura, and he maintained a calm deanor, not appearing particularly happy.

Adrian Lancaster neither lifted his gaze to look at her, nor addressed her as Mom, nor gave her a smile, not even nodding briefly.

Even though Eliza Hayes placed the fish soup right in front of him.

Even though Faye gently nudged him with her elbow, signaling that basic courtesy was necessary.
