He bent down and sat in the car.

Eliza Hayes looked unwillingly at the villa in the courtyard, wishing she could turn into a butterfly and fly inside.

On the terrace of the villa’s second floor, Caleb Lancaster sat in a wheelchair, basking in the sun. He had been watching the clouds drift by, his thoughts drifting away.

As his gaze slowly moved downwards, he happened to see a car blocking the gate.

He saw that familiar figure—was it the demon woman?

His body stiffened involuntarily, a just-dispersed fear wrapping around him, as if his entire bloodstream had frozen.

Even his breath paused.

A feeling of tense unease enveloped him, like invisible ropes binding him.

The fingers resting lightly on the wheelchair’s armrest moved slightly in tiny arcs.

Outside the gate.

"Eliza, get in the car!"

Grandfather shouted from inside the car, not wanting to make a scene here, and so he intensified his tone.

The middle-aged woman snapped back to reality, and, with unwillingness and suppressed anger, turned back to the car.

Soon, the man in the wheelchair on the terrace watched as the car drove away, unable to co back to his senses for a long ti, unable to dispel that fear.

After all, he’d been controlled by her for twenty years.

Throughout the ride, the old man and Eliza Hayes remained silent, the car’s atmosphere terribly oppressive.

"Is he suspecting you?" The old man, puzzled, finally turned to her and asked just as the car neared the old residence.

The woman blurted out, "I’m innocent!"

"Then why won’t they even let you look?"

"..."

Early morning, Prestige Group.

Faye Turner ca to the design departnt today, and she had just finished discussing next quarter’s design project with Nancy Jennings when her phone rang.

She glanced at the caller ID and quickly answered, "Are you here?"

"I’m almost downstairs of your company."

"Okay, I’ll co down right away." She tidied up her desk, closed her laptop, and stepped out.

Taking the elevator down, she quickly walked out of the hall.

A car stopped outside, the door opened, and a man stepped out, handing her a sealed docunt.

"Thank you."

"You’re welco."

The man got back in the car, and she watched it leave before turning her gaze back towards the lobby.

What she held in her hand was—

The parentage test report of Adrian Lancaster and Caleb Lancaster.

Actually, she had no expectations for the result, no intuition to judge.

She had analyzed The Lancaster Family’s situation for a long ti.

She felt the possibility of them being father and son was 50%, and the possibility of them not being father and son was also 50%.

This matter, she wanted to know the answer herself, and conducted the test behind Adrian Lancaster’s back.

Although this action wasn’t quite right, it might indeed be the breakthrough.

Taking the elevator up, Faye Turner was alone in the relatively confined space.

She stared at the numbers gradually increasing on the elevator wall, only feeling the sealed envelope in her hand weigh heavily, as if it were thousands of pounds.

Returning to her office, she placed the test report in her bag, lacking the courage to imdiately look at the result.

But throughout the entire morning, she was sowhat uneasy at work.

So after lunch, she couldn’t wait to go ho, couldn’t wait to lock herself in the safe room to check, to process.

She walked into the company’s restroom with her bag.

Locking the door, she tore open the sealed envelope, and as her fingers reached in, they pinched the thin sheets of paper.

Her heart pounded terribly, as if it were about to leap out of her chest.

Tilting her head and closing her eyes, she took a deep breath, held her breath, and pulled out the test result.

She directly focused her gaze on the final part—

The alleged father and child do not conform to genetic laws, with three or more loci not matching, excluding the possibility of a parent-child relationship.

Boom!!

This result hit Faye Turner like a bomb, leaving her mind a blank!

Adrian Lancaster is not The Lancaster Family’s child?

She stared incredulously at those two lines, forcing herself to remain calm!

Was Adrian Lancaster conceived by Eliza Hayes out there, with soone else?

Because Caleb Lancaster found out about this, did Eliza Hayes want to kill him? Use drugs to control him?
