"Faye, you don’t need to worry about ." Rachel Sherman masked her sadness with the brightest smile, "I’ll find a job first, this will strengthen my case for fighting for June’s custody."

"Did he ever lay hands on you later?" Faye Turner asked nervously, terrified her friend might endure physical pain.

Rachel shook her head, "No, but he cheated." The girl’s heart sank as she spoke.

Rachel was calm, perhaps after the hysteria, her heart felt dead. She picked up a fork and tasted the dessert, "Is this new? It tastes pretty good."

"Who’s the other woman?" Faye asked, "Was it a fling or true feelings involved?"
