When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster Chapter 1029: How Should We Sleep Tonight?
Mrs. Rhodes heard this, glanced at Faye Turner, then at Adrian Lancaster, and seed to understand what she ant...
Since the young master didn’t speak, she had to look at the lady and then responded honestly in a low voice, "One room."
"Please prepare two rooms, thank you." Faye proactively stated her request, simplifying matters without beating around the bush.
Adrian Lancaster slightly raised his handso eyebrows, his face devoid of any extra expression, though he was surely not very happy inside.
Holding the child, Mrs. Rhodes looked to him for advice; yet, Adrian didn’t return her gaze, seeming slightly helpless.
Faye stepped forward, took the child from Mrs. Rhodes’ arms, and said with a smile, "Please go ahead, thank you for taking a few minutes. I don’t know where the sheets are, and I’d rather avoid making a ss."
Mrs. Rhodes chuckled, glanced at Adrian Lancaster again, and seeing no objection, turned reluctantly toward the guest bedroom...
Once the lady speaks up, what more can he say?
As Mrs. Rhodes entered the room, she thought to herself, the road to win back his wife is indeed long! The young master has to put in more effort.
Married couples usually reconcile quickly after a fight, but now they don’t even sleep on the sa bed. How can feelings quickly warm up this way?
The lady suggested it, and the young master didn’t dare to object, so she could only follow the lady’s wishes and prepare the guest room bed for her.
With new sheets on and a new quilt provided, the room was already cleaned.
Once everything was tidied up, Mrs. Rhodes ca out, "Ma’am, the guest room is all set for you."
"Okay, thank you." Faye was very polite with her, regardless of whether she was a servant, as she was older and helped take care of the child, for which she was grateful.
Mrs. Rhodes stepped up, taking little Joy from her arms, and then joyfully glanced at the two of them, "I will take the little lady first; she probably needs so solids, and has an afternoon nap habit."
Faye was sowhat reluctant to part, "Thank you for your hard work."
"No trouble, it’s my duty."
The little one was indeed starting to rub her eyes.
Adrian said to Mrs. Rhodes, "Mr. Kerr is waiting downstairs for you."
"Got it, I’ll head down right away." Mrs. Rhodes departed with the child.
Faye didn’t say anything, standing in this unfamiliar environnt, facing a husband she was not familiar with at all, adjusting her inner self.
The soft sound of the front door closing gently drew Faye’s thoughts back.
She turned her eyes, just in ti to et Adrian Lancaster’s deep eyes.
He looked at her, "This is building 88, apartnt 2801 at Aqua Flora Residences, does it ring a bell?"
As he asked, he slowly glanced around, "Everything here is still the way it was." Those detailed monts shared with her were vividly rembered.
But for Faye, there was no mory of them.
After having afternoon tea at The Xavier Family and the hour-long car ride back, it was already four or five o’clock.
Dinner ti was approaching.
Faye watched him walk to the refrigerator, opened the door, and inside, it was empty.
"I rember the day we got our marriage license, I ca ho from work and saw you making dumplings, with the fridge full of various ingredients."
Adrian recalled those mories, feeling touched inside, "The kitchen was also stocked with spice jars, and you said... after getting married, we should cook at ho."
Faye watched him close the refrigerator door, step by step approaching her, and she couldn’t help but feel a tinge of apprehension inside.
Pulling her into his arms, Adrian whispered softly in her ear, "You were so virtuous, buying chicken, duck, fish, and at that day, along with red dates and mushrooms, ticulously arranging them to fill the house with holiness."
"You even asked Grandpa if there was anything I couldn’t eat, preparing four kinds of dumpling fillings just in case I was allergic."
He continued, "I ca back late from a eting that day, and Grandpa reprimanded angrily, but you kindly eased the situation for ."
Recalling those details, the scenes from when they first t and beca acquainted, he felt so warm.
