Now he finally understood why he wasn’t so concerned about the rge with his other self, an event which could possibly entail losing control over his body and essentially dying.
It was because he didn’t care about living.
This was the very reason he kept taking risks without a second thought. All that truly mattered to him was enslaving the Goddess and tornting her to his satisfaction, as well as tornting the heroines.
But what was his greatest drive for this? Was it really just the satisfaction of revenge, or was there so hidden, debauched desire fueling him? Was his real motive for enslaving them simply to fulfill dark desires he had always harbored?
Maybe it was all of it: the satisfaction derived from revenge, a carnal pleasure spree, and the thought itself of having the Goddess, in all her forr arrogance, beco nothing more than a plaything.
"Maybe," he conceded.
Now, thinking deeply about it, he realized that what had been pushing him from the very start was the ntal image of a future where he successfully got revenge on every single one of them. There was nothing more beyond that future, no other personal future he could foresee for himself.
He closed his eyes and thought very deeply.
"There has... to be sothing," he told himself. There had to be another reason keeping him alive, driving his quest to survive against all odds—perhaps the very sa reason that was making his other self challenge their established fate.
But what was it?
What exactly would be interesting enough to keep him going? What could overshadow the hatred and deep despise of the betrayal he faced in both his first life and this one, which was hidden sowhere deep in his heart? What?
"...Nothing."
That was his conclusion. He had no other drive for living. Perhaps, he needed this quest for revenge to keep going. At least it gave him a motive, an objective, an aim which would keep driving him forward.
"But why?" For the first ti in so long, he was finally faced with the reality of his situation. He was, at this point, living what others would call a aimless life, fueled solely by anger and an endless taste for payback. Perhaps he was subconsciously sorting out reasons to get revenge on even people that didn’t have any connection to him whatsoever.
He looked at his palms, flexing his fingers.
’What is your objective, Nelia? What does the system want?’
[To make you the strongest.]
’...The strongest, huh?’ He turned around and quietly left the group, who were still unaware of his presence, deeply lost in his own thoughts.
He stopped at a point considerably far off from the recovering group.
"The satisfaction is the objective. It’s what I really want... I don’t need another motive to keep living; this is reason enough. Making them all pay, making them feel what I felt both in my past life and this one..." he told himself, the truth settling in his mind with chilling clarity.
What else was he hoping for? Was there supposed to be so grand, noble reason?
Humans are essentially simple creatures. Eat, sleep, excrete, and reproduce—that’s the most basic aim of every living being. Other objectives are rely secondary: aiming to beco sothing in life, to attain a certain height, whether it be financially, politically, or socially. There is really nothing more.
In fact, getting revenge was more than enough reason.
"Nelia, I want my emotional suppressor released."
[You need Administrator privileges for that, Master. Also, why would you do this?]
"Heh, why? To enjoy the journey. It’s no fun feeling nothing until you die. I at least want to enjoy that feeling of satisfaction at its fullest, if it’s the only thing I get to do," he grinned. Yes, this was it. The quest for revenge might just be the most exciting thing he would have the privilege of indulging in across all his lives. Not enjoying every step of the way until the mont of his death would simply be foolish of him.
[I see you’ve made your decision.]
"I have. It seems I’ve been fooling myself all this ti, actively convincing myself that the revenge was a path to a greater end, while subconsciously knowing it was the greater end all along," he confird.
He sighed. The plan would still proceed the sa way. Only now, he would savor every mont of tornting them all.
However, now he had lost the motive for getting revenge on all the other worthless side characters that ant nothing to him. That ant Jenica’s group as a whole, as well as the people who had kidnapped him. His imdiate aim was now sharply focused: finding Jenica, Nora, Natashia, and Diana.
[So I take it you wish to beco the villain of this story, Master.]
"I always have been the villain."
[Then let help you beco the most hated one.]
"I’d want nothing more."

.
"HAAAH! HAAAH! HAAAH!" A small, desperate group ran through the thick forest undergrowth. Suddenly, a nasty creature descended. It looked like a hideous chira of an octopus and a housefly—a truly disturbing sight.
"SREEEEEEEE!" It shrieked, swooping down to grab and take off with one of the fleeing people. The next mont, a guttural scream was heard, followed by a sudden rain of blood splattering across the forest floor.
"You fools! Why are you running from it?!" A voice was heard as a young man rushed from seemingly nowhere toward the direction where the creature had taken off.
"Liam!" The young man heard, then glanced back to find a young girl approaching with a number of guards close behind her.
"Stay there, Nora! I’ll take care of it," he commanded, then looked back just in ti to find the creature descending again, preparing for a second strike.
"Bloodline ability," he whispered, and his eyes glowed a fierce, deep blue. "First Form: Devour!"
With that, he sent a swift, horizontal slash. A wave of black, searing flas followed the trajectory. It flew straight for the creature, which had noticed the danger and tried desperately to flee, but it was too late.
KABOOOOM!
Screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
With that final, agonizing shriek of pain, a heavy silence took over the clearing.
"Is it dead?" he heard. He looked to the side to find a pink-haired girl with strange, white-irised eyes standing straight at him.
"Yes, you’re safe," he confird with a tired smile.
"Mmm," she nodded curtly, then looked around at the grim scene. Corpses were strewn everywhere, and blood stained the leaves.
She had a complicated expression.
"You all lend a hand. Let’s bury them," she instructed her guards, and they imdiately obeyed the order.
