Mazan sought Chen Qing’s assistance, but of course, not for her to take the lead; Sapphire Island and Jade Island were far from uninhabited.

However, although Chen Qing wasn’t expected to lead, she was indeed entrusted with a great responsibility.

Even with the presence of the chanic Association, chanics still had a subdued presence in the Deep Blue Sea territory.

In the Gem Sea, there were only three branches of the chanic Association, located on Jade Island, Diamond Island, and Pearl Island.

Within the Deep Blue Sea area, chanics were relatively more dominant in the Treasure Sea.

"I need you to take charge of these parts."

"All materials, labor, and equipnt are prepared."

Mazan then passed over several dozen subdivided blueprints; the construction of a massive sea defense fortification could, of course, not be encompassed by a small blueprint alone.

The blueprints Chen Qing received had been redivided and copied, a task which consud eight chanics of different Schools a full two years to complete.

Mazan and Qing Lan had discussed it; the upcoming Gemstone Hurricane was dangerous, but it provided them with the best opportunity to build this grand defensive fortification.

With the Gemstone Hurricane imminent, other powers in the Gem Sea hardly had the spare attention to concern themselves with them.

But this was undoubtedly a huge challenge.

The suggestion to involve Chen Qing ca from Xia Li, who had taken notice of the newcor due to her strong performance in the Daliya incident.

A few chanical Spider Bombs released by Chen Qing had been captured by Xia Li, and after disassembling and carefully studying them, she was astounded by Chen Qing’s technical prowess.

The Blast Battle Rabbit and Super Shield Whale, which had erged prominently in the Daliya incident, were sufficient to prove Chen Qing’s abilities.

Even if Chen Qing lacked in creative ability, Xia Li dared not claim she could outperform her in blueprint assembly.

Her strength was far beyond her current job level, and she was fully capable of standing on her own.

"You can state your conditions."

Mazan’s sincerity was evident, and when it ca to treating talent, she didn’t claim to be number one, but she was certainly a significant figure in the Deep Blue Sea.

There were more Masters of various professions and Schools on Sapphire Island than just the few that were known publicly.

"..."

Chen Qing did not imdiately answer Mazan; instead, she was seriously perusing the blueprints handed to her.

Chen Qing was tempted by Mazan’s offer— even without compensation, no chanic would refuse such a massive chanical project.

However, Chen Qing disliked committing to things she wasn’t confident she could handle, as it was for the best for everyone involved, so she needed to weigh her decision carefully.

After ticulously analyzing every single one of the thick stack of blueprints for an hour, Chen Qing had a response.

"With my abilities, these tasks will present so difficulty."

Hearing Chen Qing’s answer, a smile appeared on Mazan’s face; Chen Qing said it would be difficult, implying she also had a degree of confidence.

"Don’t worry, many Transcendents with high spirit attributes will be joining the construction this ti."

Mazan quickly added, with the intention that they would act as assistants to Chen Qing and the other chanics.

Chen Qing indeed had so confidence; she wasn’t just boasting.

Building a chanical structure from blueprints was akin to standing on the shoulders of giants.

The biggest problem with this project was whether the participating chanics had the talent, abilities, and experience to understand and follow the blueprints, in addition to gathering the materials.

While the forr could not be guaranteed, Sapphire Island and Jade Island were fully prepared for the latter.

Ever since they had unexpectedly acquired these blueprints four years ago, they had been preparing for this mont.

"I have two demands."

Chen Qing put down the blueprints, ready to negotiate terms with Mazan.

Money, she would not lack.

Materials, she would not lack either.

Chen Qing’s only deficiency was knowledge, the least circulated commodity in this world.

"I want books about chanics."

"That can be arranged, as long as they aren’t the unique, privately-held books of the chanics themselves; I can get you anything else."

Mazan agreed to this request without a second thought, as it was within her expectations.

"I want to see the complete blueprints of the defense structures, not copies, but the original ones."

Chen Qing stared into Mazan’s eyes and slowly stated her second demand.

The first condition had only been an appetizer; this second request was Chen Qing’s main course.

As expected, upon hearing this, Mazan hesitated, and she almost blurted out a denial.

The chanics who had previously disassembled and copied blueprints were all their own people; Chen Qing was not only a newcor but also an outsider.

Mazan had to consider the risk of blueprint leakage.

Chen Qing’s abilities were not yet sufficient for Mazan to take such a significant risk.

However, as Mazan observed Chen Qing, who remained calm even after stating her conditions, her brow furrowed tightly.

She was weighing whether Chen Qing was worth taking such a substantial risk.

Perhaps Chen Qing had so hidden card up her sleeve.

"I need to think about it."

After a mont of hesitation, Mazan spoke in a heavy tone; her inclination was actually to refuse Chen Qing.

But considering Xia Li’s exceedingly high evaluation of Chen Qing, she was willing to hold a eting and give Chen Qing so respect.

Mazan had to discuss it with other chanics, and such an important matter as viewing the blueprints required consent from Jade Island’s side as well.

"Of course."

Chen Qing nodded slightly; she understood Mazan’s concerns.

She had her reservations too; without question, Chen Qing’s most significant ace was the Assistant Bee Nest.

The Assistant Bee seed tailor-made for the task at hand.

Besides, there was the bounty from the Moana Pirate Group that hadn’t yet been secured.

The Assistant Bee Nest, Chen Qing could not reveal openly just yet.

It was sothing any chanic would desire.

After leaving the Island Master Mansion, Chen Qing did not use a chanical ans to return to her ship but instead made a detour to the Bounty Guild.

Outside Sapphire Island, the Gemstone Hurricane continued to ravage the surrounding seas.

Terrible waves kept crashing against Sapphire Island’s protective shield, a spectacle the islanders had long grown accustod to.

It was rely a prelude.

When Chen Qing arrived at the Bounty Guild, aside from the survivors with pale faces, all the Hunters that had been arranged to stay in the guild were in peak condition.

Her arrival successfully drew everyone’s attention, the survivors’ hope, the Hunters’ greed.

Chen Qing calmly passed by those jackals and took the bounty Ariel had prepared from her hands.

All the bounty was in a Space Ring.

A simple black ring with leaf patterns, perfectly fitting Chen Qing’s size.

Unexpectedly, Chen Qing’s first Space Item was not one she made herself but a gift from soone else.

After securing the bounty, Chen Qing next visited the Sapphire market to purchase a new batch of ingredients before returning to the ship.

The first thing Chen Qing did upon returning to her ship was not to check the bounty inside the ring, but instead, she began to ponder the relationship between the Assistant Bee Nest and the defense structure’s blueprint!
