Cecilia took off running, and Copper Furnace, realizing sothing was amiss, launched a punch that sent Elon, who was already pushed to his limit, reeling. Shooting Elon a vicious glare, a golden octahedron suddenly appeared in the palm of his hand.
"This ti, you’ve tricked , I didn’t expect you to be in cahoots with the Tidal Civilization," he sneered. "But don’t think you’ve won just yet, hahaha..."
Copper Furnace unfurled the octahedron in his palm, and from within shot a flood of golden light that completely engulfed his body.
By the ti Elon got back on his feet and tried to intervene, there was no trace of Copper Furnace left in the air, only a maddening laughter echoing through the ruins.
"A Space Oriented Transporter?"
Elon’s face flickered with uncertainty.
Copper Furnace had escaped, which should have been cause for celebration, but now he could find no joy in it.
Why were there two S class Superpower Users hidden in this laboratory? Had he known how dangerous this place was, he wouldn’t have dared to co, even if he had hired the likes of Bai Fu and Fei Ye.
It was all thanks to Bai Fu’s sudden outburst, holding Night Mother Cecilia at bay with her own strength, or else they would have all died here.
If he died, everything he hoped for would have been as fleeting as a reflection in a mirror.
Elon was overco with a shiver of fear, and to that was added a profound shock.
The last ti he t Bai Fu, she was just an Ordinary S class Superpower User, nowhere near as strong as he was using the Descent Secret Technique, but now, in less than two months, Bai Fu was actually able to give Cecilia a run for her money.
How did she improve so fast? Could it be that she had always been hiding her true power?
Elon shook his head forcefully.
Bai Fu had no direct conflict with him, and so far, their relationship had been good. However, he couldn’t help feeling uneasy.
He had finally obtained the information about the True Spirit Pillar, but why did the situation feel increasingly elusive?
Just as Elon was pondering, Suixi, who had entered the laboratory, ca out, shaking a data storage device in her hand.
"I’ve got the data."
Elon let out a sigh of relief, a rare smile gracing his face, "Good, let’s go join up with Bai Fu and the others."
They turned and headed towards Bai Fu.
Having witnessed Bai Fu’s exchange with Cecilia from a distance, they were shocked; now, up close, they were incredulous.
Damn, there wasn’t a single noticeable wound on Bai Fu!
"Doesn’t this an that Bai Fu has been dominating the battle against the Night Mother? Fei Ye is close to Catastrophe level, but she is not quite at Night Mother’s level, and now, Night Mother can’t even match Bai Fu, so Bai Fu’s true power..."
[Catastrophe]
This word suddenly popped into Herbert’s mind.
Holy mother.
Herbert was so frightened that he quickly retreated behind the others, afraid Bai Fu might see him.
But as it happens, the more you dread sothing, the more likely it is to co true. Barely had Herbert peeked out when he saw Bai Fu looking at him with a beaming smile. He wanted to dodge but had nowhere to hide in the open space. He could only force out a smile uglier than a crying ghost to respond to Bai Fu’s smile.
This is bad!
Herbert’s ntal state was close to collapsing.
He didn’t believe Bai Fu could have risen from an Ordinary S class to near or at Catastrophe level in just over a month. So the only truth was that Bai Fu must have hidden her strength!
Why would Bai Fu hide her strength?
It couldn’t be to sche for sothing from the Star Contract. If that were the case, Bai Fu would not have made herself so conspicuous.
Herbert pondered every possibility and surmised that Bai Fu might have co for Fei Ye, but for what exactly was hard to tell. Perhaps there was so special relationship with Fei Ye, maybe she coveted Fei Ye’s body or might be lusting after Fei Ye’s ability.
But no matter the real reason, trouble lood large for him.
Bai Fu had co for Fei Ye, and he had been mistreating Fei Ye in front of Bai Fu. Now was not the ti to think about competing for the Ministry position, if Bai Fu got angry, whether he could even survive was in question.
The more Herbert thought about it, the more scared he got, turning his face ashen and his body beginning to tremble.
"Are you all right?"
Elon looked at Herbert with concern.
"I’m actually okay, I can still stand."
Elon was puzzled; hadn’t Herbert been at the forefront during the fight with Copper Furnace, and he was unhard, so what could be so wrong with Herbert?
He didn’t linger over Herbert’s kidney-deficient look and turned to discuss business with Bai Fu.
Now that the task was completed, it was ti to reward Bai Fu.
"I’ve transferred 200,000 Credit Points to your account. This is the ’Truth,’ an Advanced Knowledge treasure of the Blessing Sect," Elon said, taking out his communicator to send Bai Fu a file.
Upon seeing the Advanced Knowledge, Bai Fu got excited.
Great, great, great. With this, as long as she collected one more piece of Advanced Knowledge, she could unlock her Transferring Professions Task!
"Now that we have what we ca for, let’s leave, lest the Secret Tower people decide to double back on us."
Elon had no objection to Bai Fu’s suggestion. Just as Bai Fu was eager to go back and digest the newly acquired Advanced Knowledge, he was equally eager to analyze the data retrieved from the laboratory.
But as they were boarding the spaceship, a small fleet of a dozen ships suddenly appeared overhead.
"Secret Tower people?"
Bai Fu’s expression changed imdiately.
Fei Ye hurriedly reached out and touched her shoulder, "Don’t panic, it’s people from the Tidal Civilization."
...
According to the original plan, the Tidal Civilization’s small fleet was supposed to arrive at the laboratory in over 20 minutes. However, halfway there, they received news that a fierce battle had erupted in the laboratory, so they threw caution to the wind and proceeded at full speed.
