"I need to personally investigate Cao Wenliang's cause of death, but I've got an urgent matter at hand, so you can forget about those out-of-towners for now and help with this instead."

As soon as Bai Fu entered the office of the Wildfire Gang's boss, she received a new task.

[You have triggered a Camp Task [Material Collection (Special)]]

[Task Introduction: Type II Amoebas are bloodthirsty and brutal creatures that live in the Pollution Zone. They are a headache for all Scavengers, but research has shown that the Poison Sacks of Type II Amoebas have special uses. The leader of the Wildfire Gang wants you to help him collect them.]

[Task Objective: Collect 50 Type II Amoeba Poison Sacks within seven days (0/50)]

[Reward: Each Type II Amoeba Poison Sack collected will yield 100 Experience points. Completing the entire collection will yield an additional reward of 5,000 Experience points and 20 Camp Reputation]

[Accept/Reject]

One Poison Sack for 100 Experience points, that's 5,000 for 50, plus the bonus reward, completing this task would grant a total of 10,000 Experience points.

The reward for this task couldn't be considered anything but generous.

However, it wasn't going to be easy for Bai Fu to complete this task within seven days, even for her.

Her defensive capabilities would easily counter the physical attacks from the Type II Amoebas, but what made them truly fearso was their ability to spray poison when threatened.

This poison could cause severe corrosive damage to the human body, and if it reacted with human blood, it could even cause mutation, turning a person into a variant monster.

Bai Fu didn't dare gamble on her ability to walk out alive if she were to be inadvertently surrounded by Type II Amoebas.

But not daring to gamble didn't an she wasn't willing to take on the task.

The task didn't specify that she had to personally retrieve the Poison Sacks from the bodies of Type II Amoebas; she could outsource the task to players after accepting it.

As long as she gave players enough incentive, they wouldn't worry about trifling Type II Amoebas, heck, they'd even dare stab the butt of a World Boss!

"Guaranteed to complete the task!"

The Wildfire Gang boss smiled with satisfaction, "I will have the logistics departnt allocate a special fund of 50,000 Credit Coins. You can apply for funding from them at any ti during your mission if needed."

An unexpected pleasant surprise?

That's 50,000 Credit Coins!

Bai Fu was overjoyed.

In a gang like the Wildfire Gang, where every mber was wicked, a procurent not siphoning so extra benefits wasn't a proper procurent!

After leaving the office of the Wildfire Gang boss, she first applied for 5,000 Credit Coins from logistics and then headed ho.

It was ti for the fishing master, An Ya, to make her move again!

...

On the outskirts of the Abandoned Cooling Factory.

Right next to the Pollution Zone, it was a haven for Scavengers and outlaws. Even the Wildfire Gang wouldn't venture here without a special reason, naturally making it the favorite area for players to hang out.

In the afternoon, Digging Girl made her way through the bustling "shopping street," as usual, live-streaming her journey.

Because Bai Fu hadn't appeared much in the last two days, the popularity of her stream had dropped significantly.

To this, she remained unperturbed. She had experienced even quieter tis; this was nothing to her.

Digging Girl was very optimistic about the future of the ga "Stars Above." She believed that as long as she stuck with Fufu, she'd ultimately beco a top strear!

[Today we'll get a taste of the wasteland vibes first.]

As she was walking, a white figure appeared before Digging Girl's eyes.

[Diggy, doesn't that white-haired loli in front look familiar?]

[It's the sister-in-law.]

The live-stream's chat was buzzing.

Sister-in-law?

After staring at the white figure for a while, Digging Girl suddenly realized—it was the little girl who followed Fufu around.

She chased after her, "Excuse , hey, you, the one who follows Fufu around..."

An Ya turned around, visibly annoyed, "Hey what... Oh, it's you again. I have a na, An-Ya. Got it? Seriously, go play sowhere else. I'm super busy right now and don't have ti to chat."

Having said that, she headed towards another stall, leaving Digging Girl alone and flustered in the wind.

Digging Girl shook her head vigorously and hurriedly caught up again, "What are you busy with? Maybe I can help?"

"You?" An Ya drew out her words, a skeptical expression on her face.

Digging Girl's face turned bright red.

Sure, I might be a noob, but I have a bunch of friends who aren't, do you even grasp the power of bonds!

An Ya clarified, "Don't get wrong, I'm not looking down on you. I know you're not afraid to die and that you have many companions, but this isn't about whether you're afraid or how many companions you have."

"What's it about then?" Digging Girl asked eagerly.

"Money. Probably a few tens of thousands of Credit Coins."

"Goodbye!"

Digging Girl turned and left; not to ntion tens of thousands of Credit Coins, she couldn't even scrape together a few hundred.

After walking out for a dozen ters, she ca back, "Why don't you tell the specifics? Maybe I can help in so other way."

An Ya scoffed, "Fine, I'm actually here to buy Type II Amoeba Poison Sacks. The boss wants 50, and I've been asking around, but I haven't found any after half a street. I can't afford to hire soone to hunt the Type II Amoebas. If this keeps up, the boss will have to personally venture deep into the Pollution Zone."

As she spoke, anxiety crept into her voice.

Digging Girl probed cautiously, "Is that Type II Amoeba really dangerous?"

"Of course, it is." An Ya gave a rundown of the Type II Amoeba's capabilities.

Digging Girl was taken aback, "Why does Fufu need to collect the Poison Sacks?"

An Ya shook her head, "I don't know. I just overheard the boss saying he needed them, and I was a bit worried. I thought maybe I could help out. So, are you going to help collect them?"
