In the equipnt research and developnt departnt of the B Area in the main base of the Truth Society.
Bernardo, the director of the Combat Departnt who stayed at the main base, was visiting the newly developed exoskeleton equipnt with a few engineers.
At that mont, his personal terminal suddenly rang.
"What's the matter?"
An anxious shout ca through the terminal, "Director, there's a big problem! The secret lab in C Area has been attacked, the intruder is incredibly powerful, and smashed the lab's door to pieces with their bare hands!"
"What?"
Bernardo was shocked. After the chairman had led the main force on a campaign, he had moved his office to C Area, but being a restless person, he couldn't sit still for long and soon started patrolling around the base. He never imagined that just one hour after he left, the base would be invaded.
Were they from Genetic Primordial, another force, or did they join forces to execute a swap attack strategy?
Bernardo's mind was in turmoil, and he forced himself to calm down, "How many intruders are there?"
The person on the other end of the terminal said, "One, just one, no, wait, not just one, there's also an Undying Person. The Undying Person in our base, he's leading the intruder."
One person?
Bernardo at one point suspected he was hearing things, and he kept questioning until he was certain.
"The base is rather vacant inside. If it's just one person, they indeed have a considerable opportunity to sneak into C Area."
He sighed in relief, thankful that it wasn't the people from another force attacking, or else the Truth Society might suffer severely this ti.
"Director... should we contact the chairman?"
Bernardo shook his head, "No need, the chairman is currently in the midst of battle. We can handle a small matter like this ourselves without disturbing him."
Just one intruder after all, how much of a threat could they pose if they've already been exposed?
Unless that intruder was as powerful as the chairman, then he had no real reason to worry.
Clearly, the intruder couldn't be as powerful as the chairman. The chairman's strength was unimaginable to outsiders; of all the assassins that left their nas in the Dark Web and all the known advanced superpower users from major forces, none could match the chairman.
If these people were to mob the chairman, they wouldn't withstand him, but if they ca one by one, they'd just be delivering their heads.
"Thinking of rescuing Julia? Then prepare to stay here forever!"
Bernardo's lips curled into a cold smile, his eyes turning icy as he headed towards C Area while giving orders.
"Seal all exits from C Area to other areas, and place the whole base on Alert Level One. No one is to leave their designated area without an order!"
"All superpower users stationed in C Area, imdiately assemble at the secret lab. Superpower users from other areas, head straight to the main surveillance room entrance. I'll be there shortly!"
"That traitorous Undying Person..."
Bernardo paused.
This was what he couldn't understand—the lab had already modified the Undying People multiple tis, physically and ntally, so why would they still betray?
"Have the other Undying People in C Area deal with him. Keep an eye on them, see if there are any traitors."
The person on the terminal asked, "Director, what if the intruder threatens with Julia's life?"
Bernardo pondered for a mont. "In that case, take her out imdiately."
"Yes!"
With the alarm sounding, the once silent base suddenly burst into activity, with superpower users leading large groups of elite soldiers rushing towards C Area.
"One person daring to sneak into the base, truly overestimating themselves. I've been so idle at the base that I'm almost sick of it. Today is a good chance to sharpen my skills."
"Director Bernardo is perhaps making too much of a fuss. Just one intruder and he's mobilizing so many of us."
"Stop complaining. Finish this quickly and we can go back. By the way, when are you going to pay back the money you owe ?"
Superpower users raced through the corridors, laughing and joking without a trace of tension.
As they passed by a storage room filled with cleaning tools, a massive explosion accompanied by a furious spiritual energy storm suddenly erupted.
It all happened too suddenly; they had no ti to dodge and could only watch helplessly as the energy storm engulfed them, the brutal impact tearing at their bodies and hurling them through the air.
Three were killed on the spot, and the others were severely wounded, unable to continue fighting.
