????Bai Xuan glanced up at the girl in the qipao floating overhead, a flicker of surprise in his eyes.

??“Miss Hongyou! You’re finally here!” Huang Xin called up to Li Hongyou, relief clear in his voice. “But, it seems you’re a bit late—whatever trouble the Security Bureau had, we already took care of it a few minutes ago.”
??Li Hongyou’s gaze swept over the Tyrant sprawled across the ground. Her tone was grave. “I can’t believe a bio-weapon like this appeared while I was gone. We need to report this to the higher-ups imdiately.”
??“I’ve already filed a full report with the Investigation Bureau, Miss Hongyou. Everything that happened here, exactly as it occurred,” Huang Xin replied promptly.
??While the two conversed, Liu Qian hurried over to Bai Xuan and Serene, her gratitude overflowing. “Thank you so much! If it weren’t for you two, I’d probably be dead three tis over by now!”
??Bai Xuan replied lightly, “Just doing my civic duty.”
??As he spoke, the Sli Mask on his face rippled, morphing into a cheerful smiley.
??“Hey, can I add you on WeChat?” Liu Qian leaned in eagerly. “I want to treat you both to a al!”

??“Who on earth are those two?”
??Everyone stared at each other in disbelief, unable to comprehend how Bai Xuan and Serene had disappeared so suddenly.
??“Truly mysterious, aren’t they?” Huang Xin chuckled, then turned to Li Hongyou. “How should we handle them? According to Investigation Bureau regulations, all Espers must be registered in case their powers spiral out of control. Those two aren’t exempt. If they refuse to cooperate…”
??“That’s Ninghang City’s problem, not mine.” Li Hongyou shot him a disinterested glance. “I’m only here to complete the mission my superiors assigned.”
??“Right, right.” Huang Xin scratched his head, grinning sheepishly.
??He’d nearly forgotten—every city’s Investigation Bureau operated independently.

??Serene nodded and headed for the bathroom. But she paused, doubled back to the wardrobe, and retrieved a newly bought set of pajamas, hugging it to her chest before heading in.
??Bai Xuan listened to the sound of running water and casually opened his mission panel, submitting the quest he’d just completed.

??When he’d first bought it, Bai Xuan had thought it didn’t suit Serene’s image at all.
??After all, she looked every inch the icy, aloof knight—not soone you’d ever picture as a little bunny.
??But now, seeing her actually wearing it, Bai Xuan couldn’t help but stare.
??The pajamas hugged her curves, outlining her lush figure; her snow-white assets bounced ever so slightly with each movent, exuding a soft, almost irresistible allure.
